@masemunch yeah the idiot thing was a little unnecessary so sorry bout that but if you listen hes mixing it with sequences and synth rifs from different gear he has set to a mixer along with a cd turntable that plays the song. So what hes doing is playing along with it and mixing it up with electronic twists and synth rifs such as the beginning and yes the rage song is just playing at some parts but that's not just what hes doing. Hes remixing live. Watch his movements after the dance session.

If you have EVER worked with ableton love in your life you would know that live scenes are triggered by pressing buttons and are automatically put in sync with each other. mostly over midi sync, but i know that mau5 uses some weird setup with his computerS. so if you consider organizing your clips in a fashion that would make sense to play ahead of time a skill...

Too easy to manipulate stuff, to easy to trigger, to easy to break down... yes it makes playing your own tracks live cooler, because you can break them into their respective parts and mix, but it lacks any REAL skill. thats why mau5 is so successful, he puts on great shows with 0 error. That being said, anyone using ableton for just 1 year could be that good at live performance.

Look at justice's live setup. Its way way way over kill, and they are absolute crap dj's (they admit it). that doesn't change the fact that they are one of the BEST groups of all time.
