Wow, i'm soooooooo glad the writers portrayed Cuddy as a fucking hypocrite. Way to ruin a good relationship with a shitty cop out. As if I didn't feel awkward enough after watching episode 14, they had to turn a good episode (15) into a bullshit breakup. Horribly played on their parts. Absolutely horrible, especially with the sellout (making House go back to his miserable, vicodin taking self).

Fuck, the writers fucking suck now. I'm growing sick and tired of this show with each episode.

I never in my life ever thought I could become addicted to watching any television show or series; but HOUSE MD has changed that. I've been watching this show since it 1st aired and I've never missed an episode, it's so gonna suck for me when this series ends. For years you wait for House and Cuddy to be together and they're relationship comes apart. It sucks but I feel they are just meant to be alone.

What pisses me off is she knew house was a screw up from the get go she knew was an addict in yet she still chose to be with him. He even told her that he would screw up and she brushed it off and was like oh i can handle it. House is never going to change he is who he is you either accept it or you don't. I agree no one goes looking for pain like its buried treasure i think he really was scared of losing her and he took pills to ease. I dont think he was being selfish at all.. cuddy is so dumb.

For those who are only blaming Cuddy: she did not break up with him because he relapsed! Lol, it is so silly of you to say that. She might have said that she didn't want him to change, but in some way, she had the right to expect him to face the problems and take responsibility when needed. He wasn't there for her, but then again, she wasn't there for him either when he went back on drugs... It is contraversial, true, but I blame the writers. God, I hate that they broke up!

it needed to happen. the reason this show is the best of all time is because there's always so much internal conflict. Besides she was right. vicodin is great for detatching you from the pain but it also detatches you from everything else. she thought she could handle that but couldn't.

You're the most incredible man I have ever met." and not only that, but he's an addict! He'll relapse when someone he loves is dying because he's afraid! That's what normal people do! The writers have really screwed up.

she knows he's an addict, and the fact that he slipped up when he thought she was dying is NOT worthy of a break up. This is just the writers trying to cause drama to keep the show going, only now they're killing the show with old plot line.

He said "I'll always choose you", but as this episode demonstrated, that isn't true. He chose himself when he took the Vicodin. It's summed up pretty clearly in the dialogue here: "I care-... I came to be with you." "But you weren't with me. Not really." "I wanted to be."

House WANTS to be a good person, Cuddy WANTED him to be a good person, but the fact of the matter is he's not, and Cuddy doesn't believe he ever can be. This is completely consistent writing.

@chirs3 He wanted to avoid the pain of the fact that she was dying before he could bear face this reality. He did what everyone does. He was preparing, trying to make the whole thing easier. The problem is that he is an addict, so when he's in such emotional pain he'll go to the pills. I don't see how an addict that has been clean for two years relapsing because someone he loves was dying is worthy of a break up.

Reality would be opening himself up to Cuddy just the way she wanted him to. In this case, choosing reality means choosing pain, and he could not bring himself to make that choice, and that's what Cuddy was calling him out on. This is completely consistent with who he is, and who he's been for the entire series.

@chirs3 Reality would have been himself opening up to Cuddy while accepting the fact that she was dying. Before he could face that he needed something to help him cope. ANYthing. And he's an addict. Addicts slip up.

I just wish they made the break up make more sense and be consistent with what Cuddy has been saying. She told him straight up "I don't want you to change." and she knows he's an addict, she knows that he might slip. The fact he did it when she was dying is not break up worthy.

@Silme037 The writers wrote in the bullshit with Vicodin as an excuse. When we watched episode 14, he was clearly drunk, not stoned. There was absolutely NO hinting towards Vicodin use at all up until that point. The writers just wrote that in as a last minute excuse. House was clean, he was just struggling with his own emotions and inability to show true affection for another person. They just needed an excuse to end the Huddy relationship and make the show "interesting" again.
