YOu need to mixt it whit oil(olive) and the inside ONLY of the yellow part of a egg

and it will turn the pigment into a oil paint

This charcoal shit isn't going to stain worth a fuck. it might be good for a lacquer base, in fact i think i might add some to my paint mix, but theres no staining power here...

okay, you may not have ground it down enough.

what happend exactly, cause it should form like a thick viscus paste, or liquid. also, a better substitute might be

Charcoal, like the kind a grill uses

burn it for a few hours until it turns to ash.

then use, a liquid. (experiment )

and something called "gum arabic " which you can get at a crafts store, rack it or buy it.

*the gum arabic will act as a binding agent, and allow your writing to stick to surfaces*

use shellac as a binder for alcohol

dont use gum arabic because its fo water base ink

use a solvent or alcohol, maybe amonia, different chemicals to dissolve this pigment shit, if its not fine enough it wont work right, and it will be chunky.

also try putting it in a metal cup, or something, and boiling it.
