  • Saor Alba. Independence 2014.

  • I swear i will put on William Wallace's face paint here in Canada when we go to war with the royal NWO nazis.Only im painting my face with red and white paint instead. because im canadian....

  • just one chance !!!!

  • why are they wearing kilts??????? they were not worn until the 16th century

  • @twinky666666 your quite correct...but very few historical films are....exact..and portraying them in their kilts added to their scottish identity...if a little misplaced:-)

  • something about this is giving me an idea....something about skyrim mods and a voice over... with storm cloaks as the Scottish and the empire soldiers as the English fags...

  • come to think of it, scottish people haven't change that much; they still look like them, warlike barberians.

  • ps: thanks for the heads up on the book..... duly ordered from Amazon :)

  • when does he call them sugar tits?

  • Bout time I find some actual video and not another stupid slide show.. Thanks

  • You know what I mean

  • William Wallace was a king

  • @fredtheman1111 no he wasn't he was a knight

  • As a Scotsman, a Highlander no less... I hate this film.

  • @celtichugs123 lol it's so wrong. where in the blue fuck is the bridge, and why are they wearing kilts?

  • @thegranitebison because the Americans wouldn't have got it if they weren't wearing kilts.

"hey yawl which ones are the scots"

the film was written by an american and is so full of inaccurate history that its laughable.

  • @chemicalBR0 lol i'll go with that to a point, as an american married to a scottish woman im constantly faced with the 'do they have electricity over there?' question. but even if thats the case, its no excuse for so many inaccuracies. stirling bridge in this movie is like the battle of thermopylae being fought on wide open ground, and the spartans still winning :P

  • @thegranitebison lol next time somebody asks you that just say.. yknow what .. they invented television, the telephone, tarmac (ashphalt), the pedal bycicle, the pneumatic tyre, the overhead valve, tubular steel, print stereotyping, Universal standard time, Radar

1st oil refinery and a process of extracting paraffin from coal laying the foundations for the modern oil industry and um golf :)

    the list is endless :)

  • @chemicalBR0 lol totally, the list is pretty huge. i do mention a few of those. check out how the scots invented the modern world, i have a feeling youd probably like it :) what pisses me off though is fucking everybody has seen this but nobody's seen rob roy, which still has some cringe worthy bits but is a fuck load more accurate than this wonder

  • @thegranitebison

and that's not even starting on medical innovation. which still continues to this day..

oh and grand theft auto :) (i always like to add a silly one at the end)

yeah rob roy is a good movie

I have issues with an irishman playing the part tho :)

not really. Neeson did a fine job

  • oi holm, the imperials are too many!

sons of skyrim! i am ulfric stormcloak!

but ulfric stormcloak is dragonborn! - yes iv heard - thu'med men by the hundred. and if he were here, he would consume the imperials with fireballs from his palms and lighting bolts from his asshole

  • Gotta play Medieval 2 Totalwar!! :D

  • Scotland should be independent.

  • @breezeman199 yes Ireland, Scotland and Wales

  • iam scottish and we should try and work with the english, welsh and NI we are the united kingdom just drives me nuts when the whole world thinks the uk is just england without the other 3 they would be nothing... get ur hands in and bring it home on 3 - 1 2 3 YEAHHHH

  • Imagine how much better England and Scotland would get along with eachother if the leaders in parliment actually GAVE A SHITE about the people. Lets face it, the people of the United Kingdon have the potential to be a great group of countries, but theres so many things that make that impossible! WHY THE BLOODY HELL is parliment in England, can we not copy the US and put the govnt somewhere that is shared!? Secondly, stop giving so many billions of pounds to foreign countries, invest here first!!

  • Alba gubrath!

  • anyone else notice how restless that black horse was?

  • @junkyjoe11 I think it's Jewish

  • THis is how we should live , after seeing all this n remember how all worriors was ! we'r a shame of our selvs ! i mean why internet cars in place of horses , why guns in place of swords , why this shit evrywhere , that was a human race , we'r not humans we'r slaves for money n other bullshit , i dont speak english very well but all this movies kills me eachsecond HAIL OLDTIMES

  • Misleading tittle....where's the battle ??!!

  • HAGGIS!!!

  • @CAZPERsayz Kneeps and tatties

  • wtf dude put the battle on youtube you fucking son of a bitch

  • nice

  • be better off controlling more of their own affairs independently rather than through a parliament in which sheer demographics ensure we only have a relatively small voice!

  • @gaconnochie scottish MP's are actually massively over represented in parliament

  • @Sharpy111 For the 2001 census results Scotland had 8.61% of the population and 9.07% of the Westminster seats. Rounded to the nearest % Scotland has 9% of both population and seats! Even if you break it down exactly to the hundredth of a percent Scotland only has 3 seats more than its exact % share would be. Hardly 'massively' over-represented!

  • @gaconnochie Well then once you're gone don't oblige us to bail you out... again :p

  • It's been a long time since the Union and both countries are quite different, if one wants to leave the other has nosay in the matter. If Scotland wants nothing to do with England that's their choice and as a British citizen living in England I support them.

But I do think that the way England and Scotland is entwined it would be easier to try to address their grievances than to rip the two apart.

Governments often behave against the will of the people, lots English people hate the Tories.

  • If every speech would be a battle it would be a very messy world.

  • @SaintKay if every cheeseburger would be a hand grenade it would be very messy world.

  • @ToadsMGodes If every innocent dead in a war could lead to 10 deaths, humanity will have been extinct now.

  • @MrBRFB riiiiiiiiight

  • @ToadsMGodes :D

  • @ToadsMGodes I'm very proud of myself!

  • @MrBRFB if one in three muppets ate 5 children a day all children will be gone by 2018.

  • I scotland left the uk, once its oil ran out it would be buggered.

  • @mr9396 That of course is nonsense. Whether Scotland would be better or worse off is a matter for debate - but economists don't suggest that Scotland couldn't survive.

  • Alba gu bràth is a Scottish Gaelic phrase used to express allegiance to Scotland. Translated into English it means "Scotland forever".

  • albainn gu bràth

  • Thumbs up if this speech makes want to kill a army of people

  • @Jakethesnake1281 it does, and it did. :} three cheers for FUCK YEAHNESS

  • I wonder what they taste like....

  • Mel Gibson supports Argentina.

  • this movie rocks

  • what the heck is ALBA GUBRA, ? some one can explain please?

  • @622gama Scotland Forever

  • @622gama Alba gu bràth is a Scottish Gaelic phrase used to express allegiance to Scotland. Translated into English it means "Scotland forever".

  • Speach means everything for people.

  • This made my dayy

  • Love how many a's the uploader has in his name. hahahaha

  • I have one question. the scots seem to use a sword shaped like an axe. what is the name of the weapon being held by the guy on the far right at 2:52 ?

  • @FrieLegos Looks like some sort of knife type thing

  • @Polhianos well that helps... lol I think it may be a falchion, but i'm not sure.

  • @FrieLegos looks like an old machette

  • Comment removed

  • the soundtrack to this is awesome

  • good speach (no matter how cheesy it is), but i'm partial to the much simpler "FOR NARNIA!!!"

  • @patton395. Incorrect.

  • Scotland should go independant. We don't need those tea-sipping, crompet-loving English twats hugging up against our country.

  • was about 180. So there 'may' have been near parity in numbers rather than many more English, but the English were supposedly much better equipped. And you are absolutely right about the English commander except it is even worse than that. The initial vangaurd had almost crossed when they were called back because he had yet to give the order. Then they started to cross again :-)

  • 2:26

  • I bet there wasn't that many english tbh. Otherwise, for real, wallace and his bum chums would of been killed straight away.

  • @AdoPotts6 That isn't strictly true, there were just as many English, but they had to cross a small bridge over the River Forth to get at the Scottish. The arrogant English commander believed he was fighting worthless peasants and ordered his men to cross the bridge. The English were crammed into a bottleneck by Wallace and his men, and were massacred.

  • @Plantman67 "there were just as many English" By tradition the English army was much larger but that is probably down to Cressingham claiming that he'd assembled 10,000. In the book "Battlefield Britain" it is claimed that the English force had possibly reduced to a minimum of about 6,000 infantry with around 380 cavalry. It states that de-Moray's force would be a maximum 4,000 to 5,000 with Wallace perhaps bringing about 1,000 or so. According to the chronicler Guisborough the Scots cavalry

  • @AdoPotts6 At Bannockburn the English did greatly outnumber the Scots both in men and equipment etc. But they were defeated due to Bruce's leadership. Wallace and de Moray did get a bit of an open goal at Stirling because of the crass stupidity and arrogance of the English commanders but they still had to actually take their chance and drive home the advantage! Other Scots leaders have squandered similar advantages.

  • @gaconnochie Excellent posts sir. The tradgedy of Stirling Bridge was the mortal wounding of Andrew de Moray who later died of his wounds thus depriving the Scots army of its master tactician and natural overlord. Wallace was much more of a guerrila fighter rather than a pitched battle tactician and that is probably why Falkirk was such a failure.

    Saor Alba gu brath!

  • @AdoPotts6 no the english in the real battle had almost 12 thousand men and scotland had only 2 thousand men

  • @ironmaniac28 in british history. no matter how powerful and might england was. scotland defended there homeland from the english. and defended scotland from the roman empire. when rome conquered england. and im not scottish im english man :D

  • @ironmaniac28 How do u feel ?

  • In the late 70's, my primary-school teacher (a founding member of the SNP) taught us about Scotland's history from Malcolm to James VII (the only LAWFUL king of England and Scotland). I have no problems with the content, intent and effect of this film. Or maybe someone should film a smalzy drama about how the Saxe-Coburg dynasty in England re-named itself to Winsor in WWI to fool the masses, and STILL had to exile it's NAZI-sympathetic (former) King Edward VIII to Bermuda? :OP

  • wtf, the video is called first BATTLE, but where is the battle

  • Fuck me.... The English are so deluded.... They think everyone's happy in their 'United Kingdom' If that were true why did Scotland and Ireland fight for their independence. Wales, Scotland and Ireland (god bless us) hate the English. Erin Go Bragh!

  • @lukaduke No, you fucking imbecile.

  • @lukaduke couldnt agree more.

  • I wish this movie showed more of Braveheart's battles, only time it showed him in battle was when he betrayed Wallace and at the end it just showed the charge and went to credits... I wanted to see him fight the English.

  • I wuld like to see him try and draw that sword from his back... fuck hollywood is stupid.

  • Why do people assume England is still occupying Scotland? we are a UNITED KINGDOM, and unlike American Media, we don't lie to our public.

Scotland loves us, it's only the majority of idiots with Mel Gibson believing England is wrong.

Mel Gibson is racist. What about English, who've done nothing to Scottish people, do you wish death on them too?

you Scots (only the narrow-minded ones) make me sick.

  • @WolfytheWolf5667 england was fucking nasty to the scots during the peroid of the crusades mel is not racist. england isnt a race dip shit.

  • @WolfytheWolf5667 we dont love you this movie is based on a true story you dumbass you fucking rape women because no girl would ever have sex with you gapped tooth bitches

  • @WolfytheWolf5667 Mel Gibson didn't base this off of his own opinions. This is based off of historic events. The film may not be historically correct but it's not complete fiction. Learn what you're complaining about before you start running your mouth. You're only making yourself look like an idiot.

  • 2:25 'And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!' One of the best movie ever!

  • Am scottish and i absolutely love this film it makes me proud to be Scottish

  • I'm Irish and I'm sure the Scots are much braver fighters than the Irish! The Irish Gael clans employed Scottish Gall Oglaigh (gallowglasses) as their heavy infantry- no wonder!

    Celts rule in any case.

  • @MinimoviesInc the Irish also had Ostmen in their ranks. They were Viking raiders turned settlers that lived their entire lifes in Ireland so they gave military service in return. Also the city of Dublin was originally created by Vikings.

  • @Elspethknighterrant Cool! I didn't know that about the Ostmen! Yeah I knew Dublin was founded by the Vikings, its name probably came from Dyflin, which I think means a joining of rivers? It could also be from the Irish Dubh Linn, meaning Black Pool. The names make sense as two rivers join in Dublin, creating a deep pool at their intersection.

  • want to see the whole movie

  • @MsStatefan01

Buy the DVD. You can get it for like $5 or less if you look around, or just go online. It's a wonderful film.

  • Thanks for uploading!!!

  • ALBA GUBRA

  • @Panz82 ALBA GU BRATH* meaning scotland forever :)

  • @J0nny619 i know :D sorry for bad writing i am from Switzerland :D

    SWITZERLAND AND SCOTLAND FOREVER

  • @J0nny619 too sad that in the same time Switzerland fought for his indipendence and we reached it........

  • @Panz82 Well said! just that it is 'Alba Gu Brath'. The Gaidhlig for 'Scotland forever/ever more'...

  • @Polhianos now i know ;) some1 already told me that :)

  • Too Bad scotland bacame protestant

  • very good quality

  • Scots unite and like it is sayd in my country "Do not cut the eyes of brothers"

    UNITE !

  • Hi.I'm really amazed how Scotland was all about freedom but Scots where is that freedom now ? where is all you fought for ? Why did you sell out you're country to England ? I say Scotland needs to be independant ! Do it for William Wallace and for every great Scot that ever lived ! and most of all do it for FREEDOM !!!

    cheers from Lithuania.

  • @DelTevynes Very well said brother

  • @Berserkerluka thanks ^^

  • @DelTevynes You know that the King of England that Merged Scotland and England James VI was scottish, and made sure it wasnt called England, but The United Kingdom, to make sure, thats scots wouldnt be forgotten for there bravery!!!

  • @TheJazzax still sad that Scots dont have independance...

  • @DelTevynes But the Irish still do mate :)

  • @dyecore123 Yes whats even sadder that N.Irish dont want to unite with the independant one

  • @DelTevynes u can have it whenever u want

  • @DelTevynes

Scotland can't afford to be Independant, as shown by England's lending money over the few past years. For example, the SIX BILLION we gave to Ireland.

  • @WolfytheWolf5667 bro your retarded Scotland and Ireland are two different places also go fuck yourself your cocky and should not have the right to watch this movie go have some tea and suck a fat one

  • @DelTevynes most historially incorrect films ever. robert the bruce wasnt even alive at the same time as Wallace, and Wallace was a brutal murderer who killed men women and children. not a hero. also we were never conkered (sorry cant spell that<<) by the english, we signed 4 it, and i along with many scots are proud to say we and the english are the same and make the UK!

  • @jonnyR1321 bruce was alive the same time with wallace the only thing braveheart got wrong about wallace and bruce was that wallace was not a complete supporter of bruce as shown in the film

  • @Gamer360Boy In 2009, the film was second on a list of "most historically inaccurate movies" in The Times. The final scenes of the film also suggest that William Wallace and Edward I of England died at exactly the same moment, which is false. Wallace was executed in 1305 and Edward I died in 1307.

  • @jonnyR1321 its just for dramatic effect as mel gibson said he was going for more cinematic than accurate

  • @DelTevynes Yeah but there friends now, Northern Ireland Is foolish to push out England, they would make jobs, there richer than all those drunk Irish morons!!

  • @5tonyvvvv really. you mean the england thats sinking in debt and crammed to capacity???????

  • @TheM79blooper LOL..No poorer than Northern Ireland..mate!

  • @TheM79blooper LOL. And northern Ireland is all wealthy smart people?..HAHAHAAH!!!

  • @DelTevynes we do. weve been independent for over 700 years. thats what this film documents.

not sure if trolling, or just really stupid.

  • @volound If you had independance you wouldn't share your wealth with England and I would see "Scotland" on Europe's maps.

  • @DelTevynes silly child. thats not how it works.

that isnt how it works, at all.

  • @DelTevynes Isn't that rather by choice now as opposed to by force.

  • @DelTevynes but they got it there hearts and england know that :)

  • @DelTevynes Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't it king James II of Scotland who rode to London to claim the English crown after Elizabeth I died? If you look at it that way, Scotland actually took over England ;-)

  • @DelTevynes maybe not on paper but every scot is free

  • @DelTevynes they might soon they are starting to have more money then the brits lol

  • @DelTevynes They choosed to be in an union with England again long time ago. Different times...

What good would it bring for Scotland to become independant anyway??

  • @oranjuh We never you stupid Leeds fucker.Pick up a fucking book or something.

  • @oranjuh "What good would it bring for Scotland to become independant anyway" Up until now the nationalists in Scotland haven't been in a position to move towards independence. They won the election half a decade ago but did not have an overall majority in the Scottish Parliament so couldn't move forward with their stated plan to hold a referendum. At the last election they won a majority of seats and are planning to hold a referendum during this term of office. they need to win it of course.

  • @DelTevynes Even the UK doesn't have independance anymore.

  • yeah, it sucks

  • But I will do everthing humanly possible, to let the scots know, Norway has 500 Billion dollars, for fun money, and we have, lets check, zero, and we have more oil

  • @TheKingcamy

Not just their fun money, but, if the uk loses us, it will collapse, and give NI to Ireland, and just have a lot of baby tears

  • @DelTevynes They do have independence, they have their own government and voted to form a union with England in 1707. They are not under English rule in any way.

  • @uafchris That is the biggest load of shite i've ever read. Since when did anyone vote for the Union? Did you know when the Union happened in 1707 Edinburgh and Glasgow rioted for months? As for our own Government, yes we have a devolved Administration, however we don't have full fiscal autonomy, we don't have control of our own resources or whether or not we send our citizens to war . At the most recent election the Tories won 1 seat in Scotland out of 56 seats. You call that democracy? bollox

  • @uafchris "They do have independence" By independence people mean a parliament independent of Wesminster control with its own seperate tax raising powers etc. No we don't have that at the moment. Neither the Scottish or English people voted for the union in 1707. They were not democratic countries. Of course we aren't under English rule we are part of a union which we can leave at will. The point is not about 300 years ago though it is about the hear and now. Many Scots beleive that they will

  • @TheLiverpolitan Your a bullshitter

  • @TheLiverpolitan Oh shut the fuck up, why don't you move to scotland and see how much people admire you with your dick sucking. Besides, it was not english people's fault, but who else could you name, ie noone, which shows how naive you are son

  • @TheLiverpolitan William Wallace was not a hero. He murdered innocents, did things he shouldn't have. Just like che guevara he is a martyr so the untasty parts have been smudged out.

  • Its obvious that to be free you cant have people

    rule you

This is why they faught - they faught to stay free but eventually lost so now we live under rule

We should have mass freedom demonstrations although i doubt they would give up power voluntarily as they shed a lot of our ancestors blood to gain it as we see here

  • william wallace was a great leader his tactics were amazing but if it was like in the film where they just charge in they would be cut down he was a hero coming from liverpool

  • @Landofwoads still go owned
