We use msas even if you have no stopped moving they go off. Theres a ball inside and ribes that the ball has to hit those ribes wear down really fast and when they are worn down your moving making the ball shake around but the ribes are not there for it to hit
Our MSA rep replaced our PASS devices w/ the new ICM-Tx PASS for free. The new ones are great and use an accelerometer instead of the old rolling ball.
Glad to hear you had trained personnel on scene to assist the firefighter in need when seconds count. In no doubt they save his life. Hopefully he is doing well. Keep up the good work.
Awesome! I am personally glad when our city firefighters are put on "stand-by" because you never know what is going to happen like this! I am glad he is okay and I am sorry that these people lost their home.
BTW--this was posted on MY BIRTHDAY!! :) Thanks for posting this!
.....and management sometimes wonders why we go on "standby" at fires....they says we`re fire truck chasers...WTF?....ONE FF helped, makes up for 100 "standby`s"..
that is the pass but its pain in the ass that MSA airpacks have that they are notorioius for going off doing during calls if your not moving enough.

that is most likley the pass device(personal alert safety system) usually located on the SCBA pack, helps locate down or trapped firefighter

its a device everyfirefighter has that goes into full alarm if a firefighter stops moving say if injured or worst case dead D:
it starts low and gets higher in volume over a few minutes or so.
