I don't see Mr. Anand Ramlogan as having 'lost it' or having been rude in the least bit. I found him to be the model of cool, calm and collected - every bit the gentleman in the face of the complete lack of manners and borderline rudeness of Dominic Kalipersad. Mr. Rallogan conducted himself in a very professional manner. None the less, this interview was tame compared to what often transpires on American talk shows. You all need to watch some more Jerry Springer and then get back to me! Ha!

Invite himself on the peole channel and then rude on top of that. Look Friday night I believe when Mr. Hinds was there and Mr. Kallipersad was on his case too. I actually saw a similar interview with Mr Dominic Kalipersad and Mr Hinds this evening. Only this time he gives Mr Hinds ample time to respond and hardly asks any questions. He just let him have his say like the time slot was a paid political advertisement. Hmmmm this tells me quite a lot. Go figure.
He just uses a lot of flowery language to confound the lay man but it seems as though the government has forgotten the strides that our nation has made in secondary and tertiary education. We are not our parents and grandparents who were not introduced or educated in the runnings of our national machinery. Many young people have or are studying political science, have done perspectives on contemporary issues or have at least browsed the structure and function of government and the state.

This interview was to inform the viewers of the situation from the AG's mouth, but is supposed to lead the questioning. The AG says many contrary things and constantly reneges on his statements during the interview which as you would imagine, confuses Mr. Kalipersad. As a result, he has to interrupt in order to clarify things! Take another look!

As a young journalist myself, I am well aware that the job of any good journalist in an interview is to get as much information from the interviewee as possible, which can mean playing Devil's Advocate at times, which is what Mr Kallipersad did. Tthis may appear, to the layman public, as an attack or an apparent bias (especially if their own view is clouded by bias themselves)

Mr. Ramlogan didn't remember he was being interviewed by a master at journalism, a man with more experience in the field than he himself has been on the planet. A little diplomacy would have gone a long way in his answering the questions posed. It also would have saved him the embarrassment.
Mr Kallipersad started the interview off with almost a combative approach not even observing pleasantries. It is obvious that Kallipersad intended to rile up the AG and got what he wanted. The AG responded most appropriately. Most of what was discussed are NON-ISSUES. The issue is REDUCING CRIME!! Get real people, take off your balisier blinders!

Why these politicians feel they know what the people thought.My first impression was as Mr. Kalipersad was trying to point out...limited SOE is not the same as limited areas of curfews. The AG feels he can ride rough shod over anyone who questions his Government's lack of command of the english language. Again he speaks for the population by saying that everyone is happy with "huge success" of the first 24 hrs. Ramlogan shows his arrogance whenever the spin of the interview doesn't go his way.

I think many people are missing the issue. For a SoE to be effective it HAS to be planned or part of a comprehensive plan. Mr. Kalipersad brings out the point that the missteps (significant or not) indicate a lack of proper planning. The issue of limited vs nationwide state of emergency is more than an issue of phraseology it has to do with a miscommunication on the part of the Gov't. The issue of the acting COP is also critical. I am pro SoE & pro PP but this was poorly handled. I hope it works

I don't see Mr. Anand Ramlogan as having 'lost it' or having been rude in the least bit. I found him to be the model of cool, calm and collected - every bit the gentleman in the face of the complete lack of manners and borderline rudeness of Dominic Kalipersad. Mr. Rallogan conducted himself in a very professional manner. None the less, this interview was tame compared to what often transpires on American talk shows. You all need to watch some more Jerry Springer and then get back to me! Ha!

I do not see Atourney General Anand Ramlogan to be rude or out of line in any way.
It is RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL to ask someone a question then interrupt them before they are allowed time to answer!!! ..they are both big hard back men and are at no fault for standing their ground. Mr. Dominic Kalipersad had some valid questions 'many of us wanted answers to.. but he made himself seem a bit bias through his unnecessary, aggressive questioning.

The AG acted like an arrogant fool...as always seemingly...lies blatantly and then tweaks his responses the next day when asked about it. Invite himself on the peole channel and then rude on top of that. Look Friday night I believe when Mr. Hinds was there and Mr. Kallipersad was on his case too. Look at the professional interview they had compared to this one.
Sad to think that these people are the spokespersons of our country...like the crazy ex-Minister of Health who is now in Geneva...

I'd like to know if the AG is impling that this curfew is to be similar in duration to the curfew in the 1970s that lasted two years... Because that is the only way I see his argument even remotely making sense.
The issue with the Commissioner of Police only being appointed recently was a technicality and unfortunate, but typical of the type of disorganisation and short-sightedness that this government seems stricken with.

I actually saw a similar interview with Mr Dominic Kalipersad and Mr Hinds this evening. Only this time he gives Mr Hinds ample time to respond and hardly asks any questions. He just let him have his say like the time slot was a paid political advertisement. Hmmmm this tells me quite a lot. Go figure.

He just uses a lot of flowery language to confound the lay man but it seems as though the government has forgotten the strides that our nation has made in secondary and tertiary education. We are not our parents and grandparents who were not introduced or educated in the runnings of our national machinery. Many young people have or are studying political science, have done perspectives on contemporary issues or have at least browsed the structure and function of government and the state.

@MrPresman1 I don't mean to be rude...but that's not an explanation to defend the AG. Dominic Kalipersad was simply conducting an interview. This interview was to inform the viewers of the situation from the AG's mouth, but is supposed to lead the questioning. The AG says many contrary things and constantly reneges on his statements during the interview which as you would imagine, confuses Mr. Kalipersad. As a result, he has to interrupt in order to clarify things! Take another look!

As a young journalist myself, I am well aware that the job of any good journalist in an interview is to get as much information from the interviewee as possible, which can mean playing Devil's Advocate at times, which is what Mr Kallipersad did. Tthis may appear, to the layman public, as an attack or an apparent bias (especially if their own view is clouded by bias themselves)

What we have in T&T are reporters, people who report what info is given to them andnot bother to double check or triple check that info. There are a few journalists and I do mean a few. Mr Kallipersad started the interview off with almost a combative approach not even observing pleasantries. It is obvious that Kallipersad intended to rile up the AG and got what he wanted. Nowhere was Anand rude to Dominic - Trinis clearly have not seen some of the stuff that goes on US or UK TV - Its actually Dominic who looked foolish in the end...The amount of words I heard about this I thought there was some real fire somewhere, I thought Anand handled himself well and the rest was just information...I think there are people who just like to hate the guy (and lets face it - his frank speaking will never win him friends)

The AG is very unprofessional, how can he come to an interview and not expect to answer difficult questions (which were not so difficult anyway), If he wants to make a point and not encounter another point of view, send a press release and don't appear on a live interview. It's a shame but he comes across as a little school boy "Are u finished?" " Can I speak now?" steups...get real

It wasn't that the questions were difficult, but repetitive! GOOO AG!!! Most lively interview ever! The AG did a great job. Well spoken, to the point and if you are listening to what he is saying, the content of his message was superior. NO MURDERS thus far....can't beat it!

Why these politicians feel they know what the people thought.My first impression was as Mr. Kalipersad was trying to point out...limited SOE is not the same as limited areas of curfews. The AG feels he can ride rough shod over anyone who questions his Government's lack of command of the english language. Again he speaks for the population by saying that everyone is happy with "huge success" of the first 24 hrs. Ramlogan shows his arrogance whenever the spin of the interview doesn't go his way.

I like the way Mr Kalipersad handle himself, unlike that disrespectful, unmannerly, rude and lieing SOB, who try to make Mr Kaliperasad look bad, but the c%^*t was showed off on national television being RUDE and tried to make Mr Kalipersad look e_literate. I think many people are missing the issue. For a SoE to be effective it HAS to be planned or part of a comprehensive plan. Mr. Kalipersad brings out the point that the missteps (significant or not) indicate a lack of proper planning. The issue of limited vs nationwide state of emergency is more than an issue of phraseology it has to do with a miscommunication on the part of the Gov't. The issue of the acting COP is also critical. I am pro SoE & pro PP but this was poorly handled. I hope it works
