This guy doesn't seem to realize the only reason you can't hear Dave is because it's unrehearsed, and he probably was trying hard to remember the lyrics/how they sound/all the riffs. Megadeth has a huge catalog, it's hard to know and be able to perform them all perfectly, on the spot.
@obiwannut I don't see how Cameron is any tighter than this. Anyway he doesn't even play speed metal so whats the point in comparing? If you're gonna go for tightness i'd have to go with Menza. Take No Prisoners is the tightest drumming I've heard in a speed metal performance.

Kind of a funny story. Lars had asked Dave if he would throw "My Last Words" in the set list at the Romania show for the BIg 4 show since it was his fav off Peace Sells, but during rehearsals backstage, Ellefson stated that it didn't feel right. Hence, they decided not to play it. Fast forward to this night. James and Lars stood at the side of the stage the whole night and the band decided to wing it and threw the song in at the last moment. Another great metal moment!

Probably sounds great live but through that shitty little mic, holy crap... I have a headache in less than 2 minutes.

The reason Dave wings it is because My last words contains a lot of Chris Poland solo guitar and he has an unusual guitar stye that is tricky to play.
@ewengallagher Dave is the only one who has a solo in My Last Words, that being said, he definitely didn't play it correctly in this performance. I'll agree that Chris had a style of his own though (and replace Glen Drover damnit, those bass drum ticks are unbearable)
@tbagger91 Glen was the guitarist, you are talking about Shawn. But i have to agree. Shawn lacks the needed energy that is needed to be a megadeth drummer. Gar and Nick had the whole energy on their backs, and that's why they sounded so good back then. The ticks - called triggers. They are computed beats that even Nick used since 1990-91 on live shows. It was there always.
@tbagger91 It interesting debating point as I don't think the album notes reflect the multi track guitar parts on the studio recording. Also worth bearing in mind that this sort of winged guitar playing in the live version here is reminiscent of the early demo versions where Dave wings it too.

Shawn and Chris are almost robots on-stage though, but they're the best stuff Megadeth could have, if you say they're not good, you surely have never listened to them in UA (Shawn) and Endgame (Both). So FUCK OFF AND RESPECT MEGADETH

Shawn and Chris are almost robots on-stage though, but they're the best stuff Megadeth could have, if you say they're not good, you surely have never listened to them in UA (Shawn) and Endgame (Both). So FUCK OFF AND RESPECT MEGADETH
