  • I appologize, my jaw just dropped to the floor, I need to go find it......... khm..... Scarlatti on piano is usually a very wrong thing in my book, but God, could this man do MAGIC or what? This is just epic. Beautiful beyond words.

  • His fingers move as if the are not attached to his body, yet he has much control over them. I am playing this song, and it is such a beautiful piece.

  • i like the pedal...wouldn't have thought to put that in a harpsichord piece but it sounds nice

  • This is gorgeous. I have to learn it for school

  • What a beautiful man an extraordinary pianist he is........

  • He`s better than Argerich.

  • Look how long his 5th finger is! I wish I had those hands!

  • At least this has more subtlety in it than L366. He makes that one sound like a uninspired Hanon exersize.

  • Suck on that, Popeye!

  • Are those trills played by a human being? Actually, none of those notes were played by a human being..

  • nice one :D

  • I found political discussion on a classical music video. Well! Let's be musical here. Pogorelich is amazing. Great technique. Certainly he has big hands!

  • Listen comrade, being a Croatian you think that I don't know where Ivo Pogorelich was born? Buddy, take your communist bullshit somewhere else or shove it up your ass. Either way. Ivo Pogorelich was never a communist, he never declared himself one and certainly never will be. IVO POGORELICH IS CROATIAN!! Get that?! And all those "others that proudly called ..." that you're talking about is 10 % of the population, the rest was repressed by the communists guvernment cunts like yourself.

  • isn't it great how music is bringing us all together? =)

  • Love the left hand at 1:59.

  • he looks like Camiel Eurlings, the minister of Transport and Waterways in the Netherlands

  • Great. Bravo. Maybe a little faster than needed, but wonderful performance.

  • Great performance. We have YouTube to thank for the compressed dynamics presented here. There are very good dynamic terraces played here, but hard to discern. His ornamentation is clear as crystal and just shimmers. Lovely!

  • Pretty good, but little difference between soft and loud. Horowitz is better.

  • i would be very hesitant to play this as an encore due to its obvious technical demands.

  • Why? Isn't that the point of the encore?

  • this is a grade 7 peice. its no that hard.

  • I really do not think so~ mmmmmmmm, it is hard to play it as so clear tone, dead-on technique ,lucid phrase in that crazy fast speed.

  • This piece is not that hard indeed but he plays it well.

  • who cares, he could be be playing some easy bach or mozarts starters piece for all i care, as long as it sounds nice...

  • fast and perfect

  • tres bien joué, très bonne technique pianistique...

  • he plays too fast...

it's a baroque song for god sake

  • He's playing this piece so much faster than her usually does which is quite fast to begin with. He is amazing. A true artist. also I like his Rachmaninoff second piano concerto, whatever speed he chose to play it.

  • yu-go-slavia!! Go ivo

  • I thought he was Croatian?

  • croatia = part of yugo

  • oh i thought it was ex - Yugoslavia my bad :P Nevertheless a brilliant performer!

  • @Lustre1987

IT IS EX YUGOSLAVIA., there is no more yugoslavia, it has been already 20 years that CROATIA is FINALLY independent.

and yes, Ivo IS croatian, altough his mother is serb, but his dad is croatian and he ALWAYS declared himself as a croatian. his family lives in croatia.

  • @gnomenreigen7

I was trying to recall what I had said, then saw it was 2 years ago. Thanks for the correction!

  • @Lustre1987

Hey, sorry, I haven't even seen that this was 2 years ago.

Who on earth could remember? :)

  • @gnomenreigen7

    Thank You.

  • You are a filthy minded racist!

You're also very ignorant. Although he has Croation citizenship, Ivo Pogorelich was born in Belgrade,Sebia and his mother's a Serb.

Before the disasters that befell that region in the 1990's, Serbs, Croats, Bosnians, and others proudly called themselves Yugoslavs!

  • he is a Croatian

yugoslavia does not even exist anymore

  • I WANT his hands !

  • Man look at all those Japanese Girls...Im so jealous!

  • such weird hands! Sounds great though

  • this is the best pianist of the world

  • interesting interpretation

  • thanks, five stars.

  • Marvellous !

  • such enviable hands...love this guy!

  • Strange and unnatural.

  • He's so charming... a great player. Absolutely the best Scarlatti I've ever heard since Martha Argerich's K141. Awesome

  • the man is gury

  • what does 'gury' mean?

  • sumcrzymofo (4 days ago)

    natgonzalez (2 days ago)

thanks for this video! I'm playing this sonata and this is quite useful, strange digitations though but great style!
