I think this song is just the right length. Any longer and it would have felt repetitive. It was repetitive but it didn't seem like it given the length of the song.
Sometimes in a song, you gotta say what you need to say and nothing else.
There was a TON of awful music back then. The good stuff has survived, but the overwhelming majority is rightfully forgotten.
EVERY decade, there is a new group of people talking about how awful the music of the time is, and pining away for the past. Ironically, in twenty years people will be talking about how awesome todays music was... Never fails.
@xtremelaser : Thanks for the tip. I like learning those funny trivia facts. There's always a connection somewhere. Sounds too much like the X-Files, I know.
@xtremelaser Indeed. Thanks to the fact that my dad is born in the end of the 50's, he's got several music bands records that he showed and played for me, he told me several odd things about a lot of bands which had weird stuff going on... Like about the Beatles for instance. Have you ever paid a close attention on the Abbey Road album, noticed weird things perhaps?
@GATX37 I was born in the late fifties like your DAD yep we noticed everything on the Beatles albums-whole cults arose from our collective Teen angst over the secret messages; the Walrus..here's another clue for you all.. LOL
@2patrock Tere was a rumor that gained attention and a subculture to spread it-that Paul was really dead. Paul's bare feet on Abbey Road his suit -was seen as Paul as a corpse= funeral home ready. Also the license plate on the VW Bug on the original album has a meaning too also the numbers in the stone wall/fence if I remember right-oh yeah Revolution #9 off the white album-listen to it ---backwards----shhhh :)
listening back in '59 before it came out? good drugs you got<-hey I want what he's having-if you remember the sixties-you weren't there/ you definitely were not stoned ENUFF-on behalf of shrooms everywhere I click thumbs up-like it was 1959
it seems that the older i get, i realize that this is real music. i could sure listen to these songs all day. i love them (: you dont have to grow up in their time to love something that was made in that time
all great music started with the psalms. gospel, slave songs, the blues and rock n roll all began with those who were one the brink of hell and used music as a defense. and they were all inspired from the psalms of david. i hope one day there will be THAT gap into which an artist will creep and set the whole world on fire with truth.
@ObliviousBurrito Not too many people will get your comment. What ObliviousBurrito is refering to is a scene from the film, American Me. (it involves an Asian, Mexican Mafia member stabbing another Mexican Mafia member in the chest.)
Music was better back then because we were better back then. We believed in things greater than ourselves like love, and commitment, and romance. Now we believe in nothing. We do not strive for love, or commitment. We strive for nothing but self, and modern music reflects this. We worship the god we see in the mirror, and little else. I don't know about your mirror, but my mirror reflects an imperfect being that isn't worth worshipping. ( Shared from another youtuber )
