Indeed, I prefer this version of 'Lavapies' above Hamelin.
But I have a live version (only audio..but nevertheless) of this piece that is superior to that of Carbone: a recording of the also Spanish born Rafael Orozco, he played the complete Iberia, november 2 , 1993 at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. It was broadcast on the local radio. Sound quality is very good, even superior than Orozco's own studio recording on Auvidis Valois, 1992.
Wow! This really is something extraordinary. I knew Alicia de Larrocha's fantastic version of Iberia, but hadn't heard of Pedro Carbone until I saw this. What a player! In a studio, after editing, this performance would be impressive enough, but live it's quite astonishing. Despite the fearsome technical challenges, and all those splashy Albeniz clustered chords, he makes every note crystal clear, and brings out the contrasting fast and slow lines superbly. Amazing stuff!
Quite an athlete!

Impresionante. Está grabado en el Auditorio Nacional de Madrid (reconocería ese parquet en cualquier parte :P ).

This is the best Lavapies I've ever heard. Superior in every respect to Hamelin's and even better than Delarrocha's. Bravo!

It's great to see the live video recording of Iberia. I don't know anything about this pianist, but he is brilliant!
