guessing????? what strings to strum GUESSING? only 5 strings on the 1rst cord? maybe all strings and kill top string with thumb? great instruction for left hand... drop dead beginners, like me, can't be guessing? what the right hand does
Thanks for this video! I'm what you called a "drop-dead" beginner and have had THE HARDEST TIME trying to find a how-to video! This has given me a great start and I will continue through each of your videos! Again, thank you so much!
Hey David T! I love your videos but I have a question. I have small hands but I cant buy the durangoguitar online with my type of creditcard(in belgium). I was wondering if the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Ebony(this is one that I can order lol) is good for me. Is it a big difference in scale?
hey man i got a question. I have small hands and short stubby fingers. I'd say my fingers are about two thirds as long as yours. No matter how hard I try, i cant stay on my fingertips, and I'm always putting my fingers where i don't mean to. and forget about muting the 6th with my thumb, thats a laugh. Any suggestions?
hey man i got a question. I have big hands and short stubby fingers. I'd say my fingers are about two thirds as long as yours. No matter how hard I try, i cant stay on my fingertips, and I'm always putting my fingers where i don't mean to. and forget about muting the 6th with my thumb, thats a laugh. Any suggestions?

This is extremely helpful. I'd try to change cords and since I didn't know about "clustering" my hand would come apart and fall away from the frets; this helps a whole lot.
I've been playing close to ten years, and this has helped eliminate the bad habits I've picked up. Even the most advanced players need to go back to basics every so often. I reckon even Satriani does it, despite how much he is renowned.
Freaking love these lessons. Some people know so much they forget what they didn't know when they didn't know and neglect to tell you important details. Super useful.
Man you and David are fantastic ive been following you since august and using your lessons for about a month from the begining of january and let me tell you honestly when i started i had never picked up a guitar and now about a month later im getting quite good at chord changing and im starting to feel gratified and thats all thanks to you guyz at next level guitar. Thanks So Much and Rock ON!
P.S im willing to buy my first practice amp i have a fender strat mexico im thinking fender mustang 1
I think all this stuff about the position of the thumb is all bull. There are certain techniques that require the thumb to be on the back of the neck (bar chords, etc.), and others that require the thumb around the neck (bending, and any kind of SRV impersonation).
The so called "cluster" is preference. Tips are a must, but other things, some teachers will say keep ur thumb behind the neck others say put it over the neck. But it's all up to THE PLAYER what ever is comfortable will be ur path. These tips help but in the end you will see what works best for you. No teacher can teach your style.
1:34 So what are the 3 things i need to have in mind when im fingering??? :O 1. Don't let your hand come apart 2.Don't cum 3. Get on your finger tips... Nice tips XD
David Your Awesome ! Thnx for the work you do for us. I will review thoselesson videos... im a bass guitar player that got interested in guitar and bought this beautiful Olympic white fender strat.. cant wait to start learning.

Lol putting your fingers in place they don't belong. I would suggest taking anabolic steroids to help you fingers grow.

I have fat fingers so some chords are hard for me to play without muting stings. What suggestion do you have for this.
