@papasaguadas I purchased it from an Ebay seller in the Ukraine - Seems like they may be difficult to get hold of. I have seen home made units with weaver rail bolted to the Yukon and Jubilee clips at the front holding it to the scope body with rubber inserts. It did actually look quite good.
@carbonrocket hi i just got the hawke nite-eye 3-9x40 ir. do u know what i need for it to be night vision or do i just need one of those ir led admiter lights
@remyd1984 With a good IR laser illuminator you can get great images on a Sony low lux camera and be able to record. A Yukon DSA unit with the same IR laser illuminator will be much better for shooting - much better!
Tried mine for the first time last night on a quick recce, and got 3 in 20 min's, but I need to get used to it, and get a bit more light that the std emitter, then they've hadit !. lol. Cheers Carb' !.
@russtatt Yes a better emitter is quite essential. 80mw adjustable spred IR emitter and you will have brilliant views. Good news on the first vermin down.
@TheBoofdog Cheep emitters are cheep emitters if your going into NV then I would get a decent laser unit. google something like -'ir laser illuminator 200mw' Find a decent NV specialist and look at the focusing IR lasers. wityh a spot to 5 degrees and a good 200mw power, it should do you fine for most shooting to 50m with a gen 1.
@milfhunter841 Ha MILFhunter, no not yet. Two vampires and a werewolf so far but no aliens yet! Maybe if my parents were brother and sister before they produced me I might see such things. Still Aliens can bend light around their bodies and have laser pistols mounted to arms with HED target aquisition abilities. They also can fit inside the skins of dead humans and I dont wear a black suit.
@7hippocrates Yes you can see from a short distance the red glow but the rats are intrigued by it. Remember its near IR light so is very very soft indeed. At longer distances the IR glow is invisible but as such the Yukon also cant see its reflected light. Hence why I went into an IR adjustable spread laser
Hi great idea can you advise i have a Yukon 3 x 42 all I need is the rifle scope adaptor you show but all I can find is the whole kit or the option to fit the Yukon on the gun to replace the scope which is not what I want. Your set up looks perfect any ideas have tried ebay no joy?
So you have the emmiters (torches), but doesn't that go against the whole idea of a night vision adapter, since they would light up the surroundings anyway (and potentially scare off wildlife)? Is there no way of seeing in the dark without emmiting a visible light? Good vid :)
@PSPmaster321 No mate, the IR emitter on the Yukon is a near infra red emitter picked up by the Yukon night vision unit. It produces a very faint red glow when you look directly at the bulb at close range. Its not noticed at 10m plus.
I carried a seperate torch for any general walking when I needed to see properly where I am going and any dangers.
hi where did you get the rifle cope adaptor for the night vision i was looking on ebay and the night scope is still available but i don't want to get until i know i can get the adaptor
simply wonderful. Finally a well spoken and knowledgeable presentation. well done all around, I am now in market for a set up like yours. thanks ten times over!
Its a Yukon NVMT unit 1x magnification with DSA adaptor (Day Sight Adaptor). I have an IR adjustable spred laser now and it kicks the night into touch!
I think it would be excellent for airsoft. If you keep it in good condition the resale value will be high so you wont loose much and have a great time - at the same time.
im just afraid that somebody would flash a surefire on it lol thanks for the info i was actually settling in for the ATN viper but thaks to your vid im changing heart.
CarbonRocket is my boy. He is so professional and helpful. Thanks for answering all my questions buddy. Keep up the good work and make an awesome hunting video fast.
i'm looking at geting the yukon mvmt3 wth the rifle/laser mount ths weekend. can you tell me wher i can get hold of the scope adaptor from please as like the look of that set up more than the laser system.
Sorry mate got this post a bit late as I have been away.
A night vision unit with just a laser pencil beam I do not like at all. Looked at them and not for me sorry.
Either a dedicated NV scope or an attachment as mine. If you go dedicated NV then you would be better to go for a night only rifle and a seperate day rifle.
Your choice go try them out.
My system was from Ebay type in 'Yukon night vision'
Just bought the same Yukon night vision scope...when I turned it on and looked threw it I saw some black dots...any thoughts to what that might be.....it's not dirty I just opened it and powered it on...
An Ir emitter does give off a rew glow. It is visable at close ranges to the naked eye. Vermin dont seem to care about the 100mW Yukon emitter.
I now have a laser IR adjustable spread emitter and they do notice this but I have excellent views at 100 m, I just have to be quiet when approaching.
I Cant do a vid with the Yukon on the rifle I have tried.
I have ordered an adjustable IR laser that I hope will give excellent vision with my Sony Vid Cam. All being well Vids will appear. I have noted badgers, foxes deer and hedgehogs on my night stints and I want to film them. Rats and Rabbits will be shot but NEVER with a sub 12 foot pound rifle will you see me shoot at anything larger!.
I believe and so I do not do such things!!! You are NOT allowed to shoot at all with anything up into trees at night. This I believe is law in the UK. Just dont do such things as its not only bloody dangerous but also against the law as far as I am concerned
I had a go at filming through the eyepiece but it was really poor as my camera is not good.
But.. looking through the eye peice you do NOT get any fish eye but the view diameter is reduced. For barn shooting and field rabbit shooting up to 40m it is VERY good.
where did you get the adaptor for the yukon monocular to attach to scope
