Hydrogen peroxide and ointments are the 2 biggest mistake for ANY piercing. That along with alcohol and piercings done with guns. Wow this is retarded and it's even more sad that people might follow in your footsteps. It literally just takes 10 mins of research or talking to a professional piercer to see what your doing wrong, the consequences, and the proper way to do it. If you want to do this to your own body then so be it, but don't post it online to give others false information!

Guys, use a hollow needle a size bigger than the ring. So 14g needle, 16g ring. Or else it makes it so hard to find the hole... And leave the "pin" in for an hour, if you want to do it unsafely. Make sure your ring is not bigger than the thing you pierce it with.
hey i pieced my septum about 4 times today and i keep cant finding the hole and then i have to do it again i try to get a ring and follow the pin out but it doesnt work :( how'd you do it and do you have to piece it in a right place? and i really want a septum pieceing but mum and dad wont let me so i pieceing it myself.....

If you ussed a sterilized piercing needle you can hook the jewelry on thr end of the needle and just push it through with the needle. DO NOT TAKE OUT THE NEEDLE BEFORE YOU INSERT THE JEWELRY. You have to take out the needle and slide the jewelry through in one step.

hydrogen peroxide is horrible for piercings. It doubles cell count at the piercing and makes it not heal. Antibiotic ointment is horrible for piercings too because it traps bacteria. So what you are using it nooootttt good. I'm sure if you still have it, it has healed by now. I mean I would rather pay money then fuck up my nose for the rest of my life. I want mine done. I will be going to someone professional and I'm sure they won't be using a safety pin.

@eatmyemorainbow It doesnt really hurt, its just a weird feeling. The eyes water because your nose is just sensitive. Personally mine hurt like a 3 and i did it myself. If you are doin it at a studio it will go much faster and it will just hurt for 3-4 seconds. Doing it yourself takes much more time. I recommend using some kind of product that numb your skin, just apply that to your septum like ten minutes before piercing it, when it wont feel as much. But the days after are the worst.
When I pierced my septum, I just used a regular sewing needle (I'm sure a safety pin would be easier to grip lol), then took wire cutters and cut the ends of the needle off that were sticking out of my nose...otherwise it had a very tribal look that didn't suit me haha You look good with that piercing!

@ooooohxboy 3 of my friends have done this. I plan on having them do mine. 2 were 14. The 3rd was about 18 at the time. They didn't use pins..they had needles. And they did their research on how to pierce properly before hand. Not everyones that stupid. :P

@Respectical You know there's a nerve in your septum that's really important and all the professional piercers KNOW where it is. So don't go fooling around with needles and piercing your own septum kid. Why don't you wait until your 18 and get it professionally done, for like only 35-50 dollars.

Sure I'm only 21 and have seen my share of stupid stuff, but at least my friends did research about this stuff, unlike most of the people commenting on this video. @Respectical for at home piercings that is the safe way to go about it. If you are going to do it be smart about it. Burning a safety pin and using peroxide just screams infection. Although piercings your septum or tongue at home is VERY dangerous.

@griffinfischer1 Peroxide is bad for piercings, so it should not be used to sterilize them. Burning a safety pin leaves residue due to the gas used to light the lighter. So no it was not very sterilized. lol.

Last but not least, at home piercings are risky no matter what type. Tongue and septum are 2 of the most risky. Anyone who does not do the research and pierces themselves with a saftey pin and posts it online should expect to get judged because it is unsanitary and very dangerous.

@ooooohxboy well aparently a lot of ppl are stupid enough to do self piercings. I've had my septum done lots of times with safteypin and it turned out fine. I've also done my belly 2, my ears, and double spider bites ALL with saftey pins and they turned out just fine. And if you think about it, alot of ppl cant afford to get piercings done professionally. Most of the ppl that do it themselves know what their doing!!!! ppl like u irritate me....

I know people are going to pierce themselves. all I was saying is if you are going to, go about it the right way. Posting videos of dangerous piercings on youtube is pretty much asking for kids who have no idea what they are doing to try, which can cause serious problems.

hydrogen peroxide is horrible for piercings. It doubles cell count at the piercing and makes it not heal. Antibiotic ointment is horrible for piercings too because it traps bacteria. So what you are using it nooootttt good. I'm sure if you still have it, it has healed by now. I mean I would rather pay money then fuck up my nose for the rest of my life. I want mine done. I will be going to someone professional and I'm sure they won't be using a safety pin.

@eatmyemorainbow It doesnt really hurt, its just a weird feeling. The eyes water because your nose is just sensitive. Personally mine hurt like a 3 and i did it myself. If you are doin it at a studio it will go much faster and it will just hurt for 3-4 seconds. Doing it yourself takes much more time. I recommend using some kind of product that numb your skin, just apply that to your septum like ten minutes before piercing it, when it wont feel as much. But the days after are the worst.

When I pierced my septum, I just used a regular sewing needle (I'm sure a safety pin would be easier to grip lol), then took wire cutters and cut the ends of the needle off that were sticking out of my nose...otherwise it had a very tribal look that didn't suit me haha You look good with that piercing!

Actually you are suppose to use rubbing alcohol :) Not peroxide. And you clean it with salt water and Neosporin is optional.
