can everyone stop sending me comments that my cat's not a mau? I was stating a point and asking a question. it's obviously been answered, and my cat's breed really doesn't concern me. even if he was worth $500k i'd treat him just the same. thanks for all the info though :)
He is cute - reminds me of my Wintermuse. I can't actually hear him chittering in the video, but I can hear other sounds in the video.. am I going nuts?

@civic776 Easiest way to tell if yours has Mau in, would be the coat and markings - a Mau has very distinct spots that only appear on the surface of the fur - not all the way through...
Do a google image search for Egyptian Mau and you will see many pictures that show the markings
@Jerodequin so it is just visual to determine it? cool thanks. after looking there's a lot of similarities, like the leg pockets or what ever they're called.. he tucks his legs into these flaps of skin before he jumps. never seen that in others till now, and apparently it's common for the breed :P
@civic776 You will not find pure bred cats in shelters and on streets ; and if you do come across a pure bred cat in a shelter that are most likely going to be Persians. If you don't have any papers stating what your cat is than he is domestic short hair.
@civic776 By the papers from the breeder. Mau faces also look VERY diferent than domestics. Highly doubt your cats eyes and face shape look like this.
my mongrel cat does exactly the same while watching birds at the window! I have no clue of what cat breeds she might have in her bloodline, but presumably not "pure" breeds, 'cause she was born in the countryside.
