  • i laughed at that Tiny Subwoofer...seems out of place in a Large vehicle

  • Very badly filmed. sorry about that

  • I going to get my first car and this guy is selling a 2001 BMW x5 v8 4.4i. It has 140000 highway miles, and it's in good condition. His selling it for 2850 $ and I was wondering if I should get it

  • @alexpain100 I'd by a tad hesitant if I were you... Need to watch out with the that 4.4 & the tranny as both weren't the best in the early years. The transfer case is another concern as they are all AWD. If its something you absolutely love, have a mechanic check it out before b4 anything & be shown a car fax so you know prior history ( it could have salvage history or could've been involved in an accident for example )... And seeing how many owners owned it is important too.

  • the 1999-2006 BMW X5 was assembled in

    Greer, South Carolina, United States

    Toluca, Mexico

  • From your response to abacusscott, Ours was specially ordered (not bragging) so it doesn't have any of that stuff that you say might break like the sunroof.

  • Mr. Techdude, would you happen to know if the 3-liter X5 has an I-6 or a V6? We've had the V8 for so long, forgot from when we looked at the 3.0, but decided to get the 4.4.

  • @RandomShow585

3-Liter X5 uses an I-6 ( Inline 6 Cylinder ) You'll also know that by seeing the emblems on the fenders which say 3.0i. ( the i stands for inline ). And to my knowledge, BMW doesn't make V6.

It's a great engine but it was just it's too weak of an engine to move these heavy X5's. You did good going for the V8.

  • @Intechdude300 Our X5's decal above the signal light between the wheel and door says 4.4i. What does the "i" mean in this predicament? 4.4 = Inline? No, i have seen under the hood 4 cyl's on each side. BMW was confusing with their emblems.

  • @RandomShow585

Never mind about the ( i ). Totally forgot they did that to both versions . You've got a V8 so dont bother looking LOL. BMW lettering sometimes is confusing.

  • @Intechdude300

    no its not.

the "i" is for gasoline and "d" is for diesel.

They do this to distinct cars in Europe

  • @RandomShow585 It stands for fuel injection. Look on their website and select a model, then at the botton, in grey text, it will say, "i signifies for fuel injection."

  • Does BMW make any painted black wheels for the X5 e53? I saw an '05 X5 for sale with black 132 style wheels and they looked awesome, just wondering if the seller got them painted or if BMW sells them.

  • @Trondheim18

I'm not too aware of that. Pretty much every X5 I've seen at auction either comes with their factory wheels in standard for or some previous owner installed aftermarket wheels. But its possible BMW may have a thing because I've seen black stock-like wheels on 5 series & 7 series Bimmers, but rare.

  • @Trondheim18 BMW does sell them, as I have black rims. Black on black is the best look for an x5 :)

  • really nice car this, but i cant decide between x5, 645 or mercedes cl600 - cl600 doesnt seem that comfortable, but its a £120k supercar! 645 is extremely nice, but no space in the back, x5 isnt quite as...cool as the other two

  • @FUCK202

If I had to choose an X5, it would have to be the V8 version. But If I were you, I'd save a bit more & go for the newer generation X5 instead. The CL600 is a nice car & seems more practical, but the 645 really is a much more attractive car destined to be noticed on the road as its a very sexy car.

  • You have no idea what you are talking about. European cars are built to feel the road, unlike American cars. They are meant to be a hard ride.

  • @laxking57

Yes thats right, no idea at all. And no its now supposed to be a hard ride, I've driven enough european cars to know. Why do you think the V8 version like this had Air Ride suspension? Because the ride in the 3.0i with the regular coil spring suspension is a rough hard ride. I here you totally about feeling the road but that doesnt mean road imperfections have to be dramatic.

  • THis guy knows nothing about X5's i have owned 3 and they are fantastic cars. The interior quality is fantastic, this car has clearly been mistreated in its life.

Its a sport 4x4 its meant to be hard and choppy you retard!, it has rear air suspension and front sports suspension duh!

  • @abacusscott

Stop talking from your ass and read the description. I have driven over 2 dozen X5 3.0i's. Obviously you didn't know that the 3.0i X5's dont come with Air Suspension, that was offered on the V8. The fact that it's AWD should not play any role for the ride to be hard or choppy

Out of all those X5s we had, almost half needed sunroof repair but I have a close friend that works at BMW who fixes it for me on the side at half what BMW charges. And it does not break due to mistreatment

  • @abacusscott

And b4 placing me any title, I already mentioned in the vid & in the description that I had only dealt with 3.0's. And no the interior quality is not fantastic, A-Pillar upholstery wrinkles, the heated seat elements actually burn thru the leather if used all the time for years, 3.0i Valve cover leaks at around 100K, Cup holder tensioners punch inwards leaving beverages loosely gripped, LCD pixels all screw up, transfer case clacking in high mileage abused X5's. You only had 3

  • 2:20 Problems? Why don't you find out that everyone knows BMWs never have problems? Besides, if nobody owns an x5, they are risking their lives in an unsafe car. It's ok. A lot of people are too afraid to do anything like that.

  • @RandomShow585

The common problem on X3's & X5's is the panoramic sunroof. With Average use, they usually begin failing around 60K. Lots of people end up having it closed manually and disconnecting the fuse. On top that I've dealt with lots of X5's, a close friend whos worked at BMW for over 10 yrs js actually the 1 always designated to repair them which the dealer can charge $1500 to fix as it requires bringing down the headliner and the entire assembly which take up the whole roof.

  • how can BMW charge an arm and leg for this SUV and put cheap materials around the interior?

  • @xoquixxoqafxo

I dunno, It's like they had help from Daewoo & lots of Bozo's dont see that. Not only interior quality but reliability. You would think that as their Flagship SUV those days, they would make everything of it top notch.

  • My neighbor had a car just like this about 4 years ago!

  • 0:32 that kinda sounded like Dirty Jim's voice of the Monsters in the Morning on the radio before you turned it off :D

  • @mkm230

More like a few minutes lol

  • BMW can't seem to make an electronic display that lasts more than a few years. Every time I see one you can't read the radio or nav screen because half of the pixels are dead!

  • @mkm230

LMAO yep!!!! Every1 of the X5's I drove back then had that issue. Funny thing is BMW's have had those issues since the Late 80's LOL.. Entire Lines of Pixels can go out in the Radio Displays, Odometers leaving just Gibberish as the reminisce.

  • @Intechdude300

I took home a 2002 540i a few months ago...same issue. It seems like some automakers never learn from their mistakes and make the same ones over and over again...

  • E90 3 series is a better buy. These things are overpriced
