The developed world can wipe out massive diseases, malnutrition and hunger for less than 1% its income because 1/3 of humanity lives on less than $2 per day. (The US only donates 0.15% to official develoment assistance.)
$1 vaccines and food supplements are wiping out diseases such as measles, smallpox and polio. This has cut the child mortality rate by half in many countries.
what this people needs is a non corrupt government that has a effective system that can substain, grow and help its own people. they need a new goverment not only richer countries throwing money at them so that their primisters can drive around in a benz and live a good life... shameful..
Its really hard to finish corruption if developed countries take advantage of the economy, commerce and lives of the people of less developed countries... try to read more about history and youll know the root of corruption... spain, england, netherlands, germany, and all the europeans countries that onced had colonies had left a big scar upon the this other countries... they owe them a lot. Those are the ones that are paying the politicians good life to keep less fortunate in a HOLE
Zuljjin: What are you talking about here? People having alot of babies in so called "3rd world" countries? Give your brain a chance -Most of these countries don't have any real infrastructure, solid access medical care- let alone BIRTH CONTROL- So what do u expect?? Also alot of "3rd world" countries are not industrialized or "developed" technicalogically. Many of these "people" don't have the OPTION to stroll down to the Grocery store like U and me.
cont: They farm, so the more children they have anyway, the more farm hands & labor power they have as well to produce more.
Really, try to learn a little more about the dynamics of a situation b4 blindly expecting that ppl are even given the conditions to be able to make the "great" decisions you make here in the more developed countries.
ive been very naive thinking that in general people are nice. seeing comments like this make me realise how many wankers there really are in this world.
Poor kids are funny??? That's funny to you?? The only difference between YOU and those "poor kids" is that they didn't have the luck of being born in a "developed" nation. That "poor kid" could be you had you simply been born in the same location/situation. To be quite frank, You're one of those asses who need to be punched dead in the face.
It's still not our responsibility (I live in Canada). There are much greater investments for our money - even so it's not like most people would do anything to help these people.
That's why there is still an issue.
So have fun convincing people to give to "needy children" rather then buying a juicy cheese-burger.
Who are you to talk about "responsibility" - what it is and where it should go - you need to look up the word. So YOU have fun convincing yourself that "greater investments" is not a some self-justified cooked-up substitute excuse for you being a complete idiot.
LMAOOOOO!!!!!!!! LAME TRY and that crap of a response is not going to fly - You're still an idiot. Oh Please-"school me"as the computeru type on,the clothes on ur back, the coltan in your cell phone all come from these countries where "these people" are suffering. Development has been directly at the hands of exploitation has also contributed to an arrested development of these nations at the same time. So u need2check the label on the back of ur shirt because it sure wasn't made in "Canada"
Well my company offers to pay $1 (four kids get the vitamin A they need) for every bag of snacks we sell we basically send Vitamin Angels a donation on the customers behalf. We take a loss on that bag but its a nice way to allow our company and the consumer do their part and still eat that juicy snack you were talking about except this snack is healthy. I hope you can take a more active role in wanting to help if it's as easy as buying a bag of snacks =) Be blessed
haha poor people im better than you all, i think id rather keep my 25 cents per day save it, buy some fast food. and eat it in these kids faces!!! fuckers wont even get your 25 cents anyways.
I am really amazed at the horrible comments.

Why worry about people in the third world, when there are people in the "developed" world that need help too..
Honestly they are the ones that keep bringing babies into the world when they know they cannot support it - why should we be the ones to care?
