I am really amazed at the horrible comments.

The developed world can wipe out massive diseases, malnutrition and hunger for less than 1% its income because 1/3 of humanity lives on less than $2 per day. (The US only donates 0.15% to official develoment assistance.)

$1 vaccines and food supplements are wiping out diseases such as measles, smallpox and polio. This has cut the child mortality rate by half in many countries.

what this people needs is a non corrupt government that has a effective system that can substain, grow and help its own people. they need a new goverment not only richer countries throwing money at them so that their primisters can drive around in a benz and live a good life... shameful..

Its really hard to finish corruption if developed countries take advantage of the economy, commerce and lives of the people of less developed countries... try to read more about history and youll know the root of corruption... spain, england, netherlands, germany, and all the europeans countries that onced had colonies had left a big scar upon the this other countries... they owe them a lot. Those are the ones that are paying the politicians good life to keep less fortunate in a HOLE

Why worry about people in the third world, when there are people in the "developed" world that need help too..

Honestly they are the ones that keep bringing babies into the world when they know they cannot support it - why should we be the ones to care?

Give your brain a chance -Most of these countries don't have any real infrastructure, solid access medical care- let alone BIRTH CONTROL- So what do u expect?? Also alot of "3rd world" countries are not industrialized or "developed" technicalogically. Many of these "people" don't have the OPTION to stroll down to the Grocery store like U and me.

It's still not our responsibility (I live in Canada). There are much greater investments for our money - even so it's not like most people would do anything to help these people.

That's why there is still an issue.

Well my company offers to pay $1 (four kids get the vitamin A they need) for every bag of snacks we sell we basically send Vitamin Angels a donation on the customers behalf. We take a loss on that bag but its a nice way to allow our company and the consumer do their part and still eat that juicy snack you were talking about except this snack is healthy. I hope you can take a more active role in wanting to help if it's as easy as buying a bag of snacks =) Be blessed
