Thank you for clicking the subscribe button, I appreciate that!

  • SWEET JESUS!

  • @neurocosm

This is better than him for sure!

  • WOW... I made them today. They were a huge hit in my family. The flavor was amazing. Thank you for sharing this video.

  • @playarette2k3

Thank you, you just made my day!

  • @freitasex ... I wasn't sure about the raisins, but they are truly what gives this dish a special taste. Thank you Thank you Thank you for sharing. The only thing I did different was instead of Ground pork I used Pork sausage. I just bought the wrong thing but it was AWESOME!

  • @playarette2k3

I am so happy that you took the chance and put in the raisins.

    Thank YOU very much :)

  • I can't wait to try your recipe and share it with the fam bam. Excellent!

  • @MsKimlo

    Thank you!

  • im filipino i love those lumpia is just eggrolls

  • Simply well presented! Hope you also have some other filipino recipes to share. Goodluck!

  • @ngushmiguelajabara

    Thank you!

  • Good job in making your lumpia, it should not be far from the traditional filipino lumpia. I wanna try your ingredients myself. It does make me hungry, I am on my way in making my own version of lumpia..hehehe

  • u can ommit the raisins & peas. plus use spring roll wrapper instead of egg roll wrappper.its crunchier & crispier.

  • This is actually a great example of how diverse cultural recipes are. I've eaten so many different recipes brought to Filipino picnics and weddings that it makes it fun to try all the different family styles. Think of it, every dish has hundreds of versions like pizzas or hamburgers. Once a dish lands in the U.S., it most certainly will under go change. I do both traditional Filipino recipe given me for lumpia and I have of coarse my own custom style. Very cool recipe!

  • @stevenmiles

    I simply love your comment.

    Thank you very much!

  • Nice touch on the rasins, usually we don't do that. Oh yeah maybe use tongs next time. :D

  • I was taught: 1/3 ground beef, 1/3 grnd pork, 1/3 salad size shrimp...ALL fresh, so you can roll extras & store in freezer bags for later too. Mix in bowl with finely chopped green onions....Roll in wrappers (Menlo works well) about an inch thick at most. Now deep fry those puppies & dip in sweet & sour sauce. OMG!!! A pain in the A to make, but SO tasty! I took to wrapping a strand of wire around mine before lowering into fryer...to help prevent them "unrolling" before they "set". ENJOY!

  • i love it, i love your channel!!!

  • This is so not Lumpia. What's with the Egg Roll wrappers. Raisins is new thing. I grew up around Filipino families, and this is a new spin on this.

  • Mom makes that 1/2 ground beef 1/2 ground pork. Dipping sauce is catchup and pineapple juice. Never heard of anyone using raisins.

  • Hi brother needs to chat a, Asian women busizz4me.info

  • looks fantastic :)

    yummy

  • That's certainly closer to lumpia than the other video here on YT that had green mussels in them. But for those who are curious about the absolute bare bones recipe, it's simply ground pork, onion, garlic, carrots, egg, and soy sauce. Note that egg roll wrappers are different from lumpia wrappers. Though different I wouldn't say no to those lumpia :D .

  • @uberathlete

    Thanks very much!

  • Your good man. You make me hungry he he he.

  • I'm a Filipino but this version never tasted. Egg roll wrapper is different from lumpia wrapper. But dude thanks for liking our dish. This could be called your own version of egg roll. Nice!

  • the best version of lumpia is with sliced bananas...but i will try the raisins

  • @tavita

Bananas? I have never thought or heard of that!

I like the raisins... they give a nice "chew" and sweetness to the lumpia :)

  • The beauty of cooking is that you can change any dish to your own liking, just ignore all the nasty comments they're just being ignorant, no dish has to be done one specific way like people are making out :/.

Love your channel, keep it up.

    You're a nice guy.

  • dont worry about some nasty comments.. i love your video... try to use galunggong (scad fish) instead of ground pork, you will love it. boil first the scad fish then separate the meat. and do the same recipe....

  • hahaha the carrot should be small cut very small and why did he put raisin and peas it will be better call philippine meatloaf :)

  • not everyone has the same version, i put water chestnuts in mine to make it crunchy :) so to other filipinos commenting here, be a little nicer to the guy, he appreciates our food and it's a great thing &hearts

  • @mier088

    Water Chestnuts sound awesome!

    Thank you for the suggestion!

  • mmm, they look good!

  • why did u use chinese egg roll and raisins o.o just like in empanada na pilipino i hate them ;p

  • why did he use a Chinese egg roll?

  • @WsternCivilization

Is it that huge of a deal?

  • @MacNinjah i hope u know that all filipinos do not cook the same....So many different dilects, so many different types of style, not everyone cooks like ur momma, and the way ur describing it is just one way...like i said so many different ways dont get it twisted....

  • No problem.. some people are just haters thats all...i loooooove to cook and so neat to see how others prepare some of your favorite dishes...

  • interesting way for lumpia never heard of putting rasins in it, similar to mine minus the rasins and that particular wrap....lumpia is quite simple, i am filipina myself and i seen someone had commented on how u wrap it raw, thats actually quite alright. i have so many different styles of my lumpia/eggrolls...

  • @cartergirl28

Thank you for your positive comment, I get so many nasty comments :)

  • it's not a pinoy lumpia at all... but nice ingredents.. :)

  • Wow! Not Filipino Lumpia at all! More like raw meat Chinese fusion egg roll! Hee! Hee!

  • @wilbender78

    LOL

  • @MacNinjah . There's lots of ways of making lumpia..different region of the philippines have their own signature ingridients.

  • @MacNinjah

I love rasins in this, and I would imagine there a many variations of this.

    Thanks !

  • @freitasex lumpia ia a versatile dish u can make it any way u want it but we do have a traditional way of making it :D

  • there are many types of lumpias (which are basically eggrolls). shanghai lumpias just have meat wrapped in them, but this one is a more of a veggie lumpia. i've made shanghai lumpias w/ my grandma...it was fun handling the raw meat w/ my bare hands. i don't like celery so i'd probably leave it out, but i'd like to try this recipe :) thanks for posting!

  • @h0n3yma1d

I hope you do try it... I love this and thank :)

  • Yea..the addition of raisins and peas is deviation from the traditional way of cooking lumpia in the philppines... but I think it will still be equally tasty....

Thanks for posting this vid... :-)

  • @VoxCebu

I love raisins and peas in this, and thanks!

  • This is Filipino, not Shanghai. I am guessing it's a bit different,I guess everyone has their own style, that's just what I'm thinking.

  • @mooks525

Does the soy sauce sound good or bad to you?

I do have a shanghai lumpia on here also, thanks!

  • i believe this is just your version of the "Philippine Lumpia". Sorry but i have never eaten any lumpia with raisins and peas... or corn... I am Filipino btw. Honestly, i don't think that is Philippine Lumpia.

  • that not LUMPIA! ! ! thats a damn EGGROLL! ! !

  • lol he's american, we have different perspectives(i'm filipino)

  • Thank you and banana sauce sounds very good.

I like your ideas and input very much!

  • I Was At My Filipino Parties And My Aunt Made These But Instead off Beef, She took out the raisans peas and put in turkey. OMG it was good. lmfao

  • Sounds excellent!

  • chicken and shrimp tastes best for me.

  • I will keep that in mind.

  • i have suggestion to be taste more instead of salt buy a maggi sarap is more taste...thanks man

  • That is a great idea, thanks!

  • I will look for the all purpose sauce, what a great tip!

    Thanks!

  • also look for sweet chilli sauce! great for dipping!!! :P

  • Raisins? Peas? No offense intended but surely this is not Philippine Lumpia, more like an American Lumpia to me! Hehehe.

Nah, don't think i'm raising my eyebrows here, just amused! Another spin on our lumpia i guess, but i really would like give a try with your version.

Cheers from the Philippines! Mabuhay ka!

    :-D

  • Thanks LOL

The raisins and peas are SO GOOD in this!

    Thanks for subscribing too!

  • Whats up with the rasins and peas, no beansprouts? Try a brown sugar and soy sauce dip.

  • You have to try raisins and peas in this!!!!!!!!!!!

    Your sauce sounds wonderful !!

  • I'm a filipina & tried making this using your way, this tastes GREAT!!!!!!! Thanks very much.. Keep up the great job.

  • Your comment is the BEST ever!

    Thank You!

  • that looks damn good

  • Wow, thank you!

  • i think you did a great job on giving the dish a new spin..

im a filipina & i also love lumpia. i'm gonna be trying your spring roll version!

it looks yummy with the raisins on them.i haven't tried that but i can just imagine the taste..

im pretty sure it's gonna be good..

i'll also give you my version..

what i do is put coconut meat as the main meat..

though its gonna be more of a 'buko lumpia' (buko is the tagalog for coconut)..

    you have to try it!

    it's great!

    ^_^

  • Thank you and sorry for the delay in responding.

    I love raisins in this!

  • I'm sure they taste good but that is by no means Filipino lumpia. The most glaring problem is that you used egg roll instead of spring roll wrappers. Lumpia wraps are supposed to be flaky and crisp, not chewy/crunchy. The raisins, "ketchup" sauce, hmmm

A more appropriate title for this vid would've been "My Spin on Philippine Lumpia."

  • Well I am certainly not perfect.

You should subscribe to keep me in line!

  • looks ok with the added raisins. our style got shrimps.

the dip sauce i usually sweet and sour mixture.

  • I love raisins in this, thanks and thanks for subscribing too!

  • yummy!!! sarap yan!,,,,,

  • Thank you!

  • Did you know? LARD oil is beef fat.

That means the food tastes like

    'Hamburger', you heard the

rumor the fry tastes like a

burger patty? Try healty olive oil (anti-

    oxidant cancer) or Cranoil

    (lowers LDL anti-heart

    problem).

  • i dint kno they have a brand that says " egg roll wrappers " XDD lol

  • LOL

  • versatile, very creative, inspiring and looks great......way to go and high five to u.....

  • Thank you very much.

  • It is fine with me.

  • I've never seen lumpia prepared this way???

  • I am very happy that you have seen my way to prepare lumpia then!

I would love if you subscribed to my cooking!

  • Was that a Californian deep fried LUMPIA??????

    Tsk Tsk Tsk....

  • Thank you for your sweet comment!

  • You know what kind of Lumpia you'd really made? It was the Thai Lumpia. I have a Thai friend at work and have tasted their lumpia and almost the same as what you've added for the ingredients just skipped the raisin...and the sauce for that is almost the same as what the Filipino had....some vinegar and chili but for Thai's they added sugar unlike in Philippines we have it really sour and trully spicey hot..

  • thats not true, filipino lumpia that i've had is never spicey hot and never sour. As long as it has the base ingredients of pork, water chesnuts, onion and garlic, egg, and flour/cornstarch, you've got it! different filipinos do things differently

  • those looked good. the lime at the end was a nice touch, i'll have to try it the next time i make some. though i prefer sweet & sour sauce over ketchup. ketchup is a little dominant flavor wise

  • Yes I agree with the dipping sauce.

The important thing is the lumpia.

Thank you very much for your comment!

  • you can also try to add finely minced turnips,,it will give it a little sweet taste!

  • Wow, that is a great idea!

    And thanks for subscribing too!

  • Your spelling is atrocious. You are the retarded one.

  • great job... you can substitute it with garlic powder and oyster sauce no need for salt... and soy sauce....

  • Thanks... I think your suggestions sound GREAT!

  • wow that's like traditional lupia with a face-lift... nice one sir.... i will deffinately try your version of lumpia.

  • Thanks, yes it is a bit different!

  • Wow, thanks for the nice comment!

  • They do look nice.

  • All the way from Australia; thanks!

  • Tongs man, tongs. :)

  • Yes, I finally got a couple sets of tongs now!

  • Could this be done with spring roll wrappers or does it have to be egg wrappers? I am not sure how well the spring roll wrappers will fry... do you know?

  • Spring roll wrappers are not to be fried or cooked as far as I know, if you try it, please let me know the result.

  • I just did a Google search for "can you fry spring rolls" and it turned up at least three sites that have recipes for spring rolls that includes frying the spring roll, so I guess you certainly can do it.

  • i love lumpia!

never had it with raisins and peas though.

    i'll definitely try this though.

    thanks!

  • Thanks, I love the raisins in it!

  • Is there a red sauce that goes with it?

  • Not really, I just spiced up some ketchup for myself.

    Thanks for your question!

  • i cant stop watching this so so good

  • I love the raisins in it!

  • i don't know about the raisins? Maybe gives a sweet element?

  • The raisins and some chew and sweetness.

    1 T lime juice

    1 T worcheshire

    1 T soy sauce

    2 T honey

    1/2 t cayenne

    did you see the souffle?
