Nowadays, its the opposite: very little guitar work, with an emphasis on digital sounds.
@lordmalberry Codex, Staircase, The Daily Mail, and Give Up The Ghost, are in fact this good. Actually, TKOL as a whole is awesome. And even when he's fucking around on his laptop, he's making righteous music, which is better than what we're doing with ours.

@lordmalberry he's moving along with time, rather than standing still and living in the past. music is moving towards a new synthesizer based future, and I believe he's cashing in on that, while also bringing in stuff like Codex and Give up the Ghost to let everyone know that it's still the same band, just moving forward. i do agree with you though, I preferred In Rainbows to TKOL, it just sounded better.

@ri394 Radiohead are a fantastic band but I personally think A Rush Of Blood To The Head was way better than OK Computer, and OK Computer is a fucking brilliant collection of music, so thats saying something ! Coldplay could have released that album with just Politik, In My Place and Amsterdam and it would still have been my most favourite album ! Not taking anything away from Radiohead, because I really do love their music :)

@myironl77 Hardly, Chris Martin writes fantastic lyrics ! X&Y was probably the last great album Coldplay wrote. I don't like the new stuff so much, that said Im booked in to see them live very shortly. They are hated because people are envious of them, one silly journalist back in 2001 and the phad that it was "cool" to not like coldplay hardly make them the most hated band in the world. And yeah, thats why Radiohead was named the biggest band in the world, ohh wait, they weren't !

@myironl77 Politik is better than any song on OKC ! The sound of OKC is far more cleaner and more crisp than ROBTTH, I can agree with you on that ! I have actually been listening to OKC daily for the past two weeks now and I can say the music and everything that goes with the album is great, it definatley deserves its critical acclaim. My musical taste is just more towards Coldplays style of music. Both bands write and perform great music !!! Can we leave it there ?

@myironl77 it's because Coldplay is not like Radiohead.Coldplay doesn't have balls to try to discover new sounds and new aspects like Radiohead. They know what they are capable of and they still stick to their roots. That is not a bad thing about the artist. Iam a Coldplay fan but the fact is very clear: Coldplay doesn't have shits on Radiohead. However, that is not reason to hate Coldplay really.

Radiohead is great and all, but they're not the only band that can play this style of music well, you people act as if anything that even remotely shares this spacey and dreamy sound is copying Radiohead? How ignorant, you could just as soon turn around and say that Radiohead blatantly copies the style of bands like Pink Floyd. Does that mean they're "unoriginal garbage"? I think you would disagree. @nigelchitownking In certain situations bass is made to blend in with the sound; if he wasn't there you'd notice. It's just the type of instrument he plays; that is to say, the way he plays it. It doesn't make him better or worse, I think he's great, albeit there are exceptions where a band is extremely bass heavy (I fear mentioning their name because these comments are all amazing).
