I don't remember the first time I heard this song, but my mom claims I was 2 or 3, and she came into the room with this song on the radio and found me crying and hugging my toy pickup truck. She bought Tom's album for me after that. The line about old pickup trucks is still my favorite, even at age 38.

@taylorswift2010 Grandpa's can have a profound effect on grandchildren like that. Just a simple word, a line from a song, a certain way they done a particular thing can and will stick in your memory forever. I lost my Grandpa a few years back, and it was very tough. I felt as if I had lost half of my heart. I think of him everyday. He taught me tons of things that I use in life, and I sorely miss him. I am sorry for your losing your Grandpa. Grandpas rock!!
