I actually have sat in on drums for LBC a few times - although I just found out that Sublime crew doesn't like them very much cuz of some copyright stuff
nice drumming and way to go with the audio/recording quality man, drums are hard to record but this sounds really good and balanced with the music and stuff!
Back in day when I first heard sublime, it was the first time that I actually 'heard' the drums in a song. Before that I would just hear the all the music as one sound and the singer separate. But Sublime was different, the drums just popped out at me and I thought they were so sweet that I had to learn how to play that. So I just played along with the CD probably 5,500 times and counting; thats how I learned.
word to bad i work all the time and go to school when im not at work. only things i really got time for is vidya games smokin and chillin with my woman.
im learning how to play sublime songs but i dont know how to do that double time thing on the hi-hat. so my question is how do you do double time on the hi-hat?
Its all in the wrist. I just watched videos of Bud and Marshall from Sublime and tried my best to copy. It took some time to get the shuffle, but in time I could do it. I'm far from perfect, but I'm still learning.
i'm still working on that beat...i can't do it well enough to put it up. I don't even know what genre that beat is; samba maybe? Again, props to Field Marshall Goodman.
well, that recording is Field Marshall and he rarely toured with Sublime; so chances are slim that they have video of this. I don't even think I've heard a live recording of this song. Kind of just a dub song, probably never played it live.
Bud Gaugh is one of my favorite drummers, although right up there with him is Field Marshall Goodman, who I believe is the one who recorded this track; I think this was recorded when Bud was in rehab. Both great drummers though.
Yo man...your new videos are tight. I'm a big fan of both Stoopid and Sublime, and I've seen a lot of crappy covers on youtube (tho not many choose drums). But you kill every song you've posted. Keep up the good work.
Also...props for picking some choice songs from these bands...not the radio hits.
awesome wish I could jam with you haha

Awesome job, dude! I don't think some drummers realize how tricky it is to nail Bud Gaugh's grooves.
