The two dislikes must be people who expected this to be a Justin Bieber song, but were shocked to find an actual good song being played. With no autotune!
Thank you George~ Without you I would have nothing to listen to in an era of Justin Bieber and Brittney Spears :( These songs keep me going. You were and still are a great role model!
ok, am i just hearing things, or is he singing with an irish accent. Im not from the UK so im not good at identifying accents. But he's got a kind of rolling 'r' sound.
Thanks for posting one of Formby's most appealing songs. Interesting to see him snuggling up to Beryl - who ruled him with rod of iron but also undoubtedly helped him in his career. She used to buy clothes from a smart dress shop in Bolton, where my aunt was working at the time. I was there (a small boy) once and was introduced to both George & Beryl. Can't remember much of it though!
This is a perfect song rendered by the most natural, appealing entertainer ever: Formby was, and remains vital today, in illustration of the finest of human possibilities. He did nothing but to make people happy. And in doing that, he did everything right, and he gave and still gives life to all who can hear and see the truth of what it's all about.
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my new clip of 1930's cigarette cards of George Formby, Errol Flynn, Gracie Fields, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Gary Cooper, Fred Astaire, and Vivien Leigh.

@yourliver1 Hi, he's from Wigan in Lancashire. Lancastrians generally have a strong 'r' sound when they speak.

I don't know why, but i keep getting pulled back to this video.
Its very different for a Formby song, I wonder if it is one of his own?
I can imagine a young Lennon watching this.
It seems to be a mixture of Dixie and Hawaiian that later helped to form the Mersey sound.
Just add a blues beat and blend it to Beatles.
Its a beautiful harmony of simplicity.
He looks just like his father in this clip.
