  • thanks for the video

  • Thanks very much for this video. I followed it to remove all the factory gunk that came in my new LCP and replaced it with proper gun oil.

  • Thanks for making this video. Ruger should really give lubrication points on their firearms.

  • Good vid how often do u clean it

  • I like to clean my LCP watching this video. I had the hardest time with the pin reentry and keeping the spring from getting away from me the first time. I like it so well I carry it like my watch and wallet now. I use it with Crimson Trace and always carry it in the Talon wallet holster for it. It is so comfortable I don't walk right or feel right if its not on me now. No matter what else I carry, this is always on me.

  • what is your choice of cleaning solvent and oil?

  • Great video, very clear and easy to follow.

When you say "solvent", do you mean something like WD40 or comparable? Also, how frequently do you recommend cleaning?

    Thanks!

  • great video.

  • Thank you! Very nicely done.

Do I detect a Brooklyn accent?

  • great vid bro

  • I wouldn't pull the trigger to make sure it clicks? They say dry firing this firearm can damage the weapon I recommend you use Snap Caps to hear the clicks.

  • why z your barrel chrome & mine is black ? brush brush brush like pee wee HAA H AAA

  • Thsnk you.

  • Very nice video...

  • thanks for this video, i have a valid louisiana handgun permit and was looking for something thats easier to carry this summer, after watching your video i think i am going to buy one

  • when u spray solvent on the slide, do you get it into the little compartment where the firing pin is? Is there any way to clean inside of that. Seems like it would get filthy over time

  • 9mm bronze brush!could i use it to my lcp?is it okay?pls reply.

  • Great vid, thanks for taking the time to make it post it.

  • Good video. Excellent information on the little

    LCP.

  • On my model, the inner spring is larger on the end pointing towards the muzzle. It is extremely difficult to separate the two and extremely difficult to put inner back inside the other due to the enlarged end (Ruger was kind enough to mail me a new set of springs). Not sure if this has changed, but from the video above the inner/outer springs appear to slide off/on with ease.

  • Great video

  • Thank you for making this video.

I have a Taurus TCP and I couldn't find any instructional videos on it; I followed this and it worked perfectly.

I also had trouble with placing the pin back in, thanks for the hint.

  • The Taurus and Ruger clean identically.

  • Thank you! I couldn't figure out how to get the pin out, works differently than my other semis.

    MWD

  • Is it bad to dry fire a LCP? I bought snapcaps but gun has no decocking feature. Thanks

  • Well Joker you should get some medicine to help with your OCD.

  • After a trip to the range which is no longer very often. If I were to guess, once every 3 months?

  • I clean my XD-45 at least once a week, my life may depend on this gun and I want it cleaned, oiled and functioning if that time ever comes

  • Thanks, keep them coming.

  • Have to agree with jeepinoveru, way too much oil. All that much oil is gonna do is gather a bunch of unnecessary dirt and grime and require you to clean it much more frequently than one should need to.

  • Blitzkrieg

How often do you clean your CCW Pistol(s)

  • Great video, thanks!

  • Nice vid thank you for your time...

  • Have you noticed the magazine release being hard to deploy?

  • At around 6:17 in the video, you are wiping the gun down and it looks like the Take Down Pin pops out of the gun, is the TD Pin that loose?

What happened at 6:17 in the video?

  • It was a bug , not a pin

  • Way too much oil.

  • After watching over 120 of these hit the range, brand new, you better oil the fire out of it, or you may experience malfunctions. Normally, light lube is the order of the day, on these, light lube may not work. It should not be dripping oil, but, a heavy oil wiped on with a finger should work. I have seen too many malfunction for lack of sufficient oil.

  • @talontraininggroup would a light grease work on the slide rather than going heavier w/the oil? Just curious...I tend to go on the heavier side w/lube anyway.

  • Great job,Thanks.

  • Thanks Talon. Nicely done.

  • I just took my LCP apart, cleaned it, and put it back together with the help of this video.

Thank you all so much for all your informative videos- they've helped me so much. I can't even begin to tell you.

Anything I need for my LCP, I'm getting from you guys :)

  • SAFETY TIP......I was taught to always point the barrel away from you even when cleaning and especially essential during takedowns. Just in case a round is in the chamber? Don't ever get too comfortable looking down the barrel of a gun.

  • Make a video on cleaning the Ruger LCR please!

  • Working on it. Subscribe and you will get the update. Just watch the cleaning revolver video and you will get the same information. Just don't use metal brushes on the polymer frame. Otherwise it is the same.

  • @talontraininggroup what are do i need to clean my lcp!pls tell me everything, thx!

  • @talontraininggroup Fuck this I would rather just pay someone to do it so if they break it I can hold someone accountable!

  • Good video. I just bought the gun and this will help out.

  • Well done video. Keep up the good work.

  • Safe to "dry fire" this gun?

  • I dry fire mine. We know a lot of people who own this firearms, over 80+ and we teach that is is fine.

  • general rule of thumb is that centerfire handguns are safe to dry fire...again...this is not for ALL guns, but most....

  • What guns aren't safe to dry-fire and why?

  • Some rimfires are not safe to dry-fire because some are designed in a way that the firing pin strikes the chamber edge where it expects the cartridge rim to be (can damage the firing pin). Almost all modern .22's are designed with a firing pin stop of sorts that prevents this.

Not all centerfire guns are safe nor are all rimfire guns unsafe to dry-fire. You'll have to check the manual on each one to know for sure.

  • Thanks.

  • Great video

  • Great video. Thank you sir.

  • Thanks for this great video! This is the best cleaning video I've seen for this gun and actually one of the best ever. Very thorough!

  • Thanks you sir, beats reading instructions!

  • not to nitpick or anything but I always was taught that you push patches through the barrel one way only (from breach end out), and not draw the dirty patch back through the barrel. Other than that - great tips here. You are much more thorough than I am usually.

  • I do the same thing generally on rifles when it matters, being an ex-sniper. However, on handguns, I use a push-pull technique where I load the jag in such a way the first time through the barrel, it uses one side of the patch and as you pull back the other side is exposed so you can use one patch twice. The last patch goes through one time clean.

  • Cool mine just came in yesterday.. such a sweet piece

  • Thx for vid. Picking up my LCP soon.

  • Thank you. :-)
