Little experience. I use to lead kayak tours & we sail the channel to catalina often. I would highly recommend going on a calm day. We took a boat out and kayaked back...the plan was for the boat to follow us but it blew an engine and got stuck in cat harbor. There is nothing on the channel islands so if your going to paddel there and back in one day you should let people with boats know or the coast guard and have a vhf radio. the 130t is fine not the fastest, a rudder would have been nice.
