Ant, You actually can tame Ocelots. Just hold a raw fish in your hand... For a long time. If they slow down, And then start walking towards you. When they get in front of you and LOWER THEIR TAIL (You MUST wait for that to happen first), Then click them. What I do is spawn a TON of them and hold out a fish as fast as possible. Hey Ant and others, I was trying to see what the seed of my name would produce so I typed in "Martin" on the world generator (on 12w04a at least). What's strange was that I spawned in front of a GIANT pack of wolves and they all seem to be already tamed (though they no collar). I've tested this several times and it was always the same result. I don't know why this is but you should try it and see.
