If only Mike Tyson would have never fired Kevin Rooney, if Cus' lived long, Mike could have been the GOAT. Mike in my eyes is better than Ali(No Disrespect to the Greatest) Mike had great speed, strong with powerful hard punches, great defense, and good endurance, and HEART! but hes still the best boxer I've seen.
@Buckeyecat2002 A wonderful father who is a convicted rapist and when he fought Lennox Lewis said "I want your heart, I want to eat your babies" and also bit off Holyfields ear
@scottfser why does larry deserve it ? he wasnt proud of beating up a dead man in ali at the time .he didnt get to chose not to take that fight . don king owned him and he owned ali . don king deserves this beating not larry holms , king used both men to buy himself the good life that he didnt earn. besides ...mike tyson beat a dead washed up holms just like holms beat a dead washed up ali. neither man gets credit for either fight in my opinion.
@scottfser Larry was also screaming at the ref to stop the Ali fight as he was "gonna hurt the man". Ali was obviously in no condition to fight Holmes at that time in his career.
Wen people like:Lewis/Hollyfield/Williams were lining up 2 f8t Tyson, at that stage in his life he was spent as a boxer & as a man. If the Tyson of this video was fighting any1 of those guys he'd av beaten & eaten them. Don't 4get, Tyson still holds the record for the youngest person ever 2 b'cum heavyweight champion & in his explosive career he has lost a total of 6 fights, only 1 more than Muhammed Ali.
@EmanuelAli1 there is no guarantee, tyson has plenty of technique his defence is as good as ali in his prime you can see him ducking punches and jabs and countering with big punches. No doubt it will be an epic fight but to guarantee an ali win is arrogant and spoken like a true ahole
why does everyone think ali is so good. All he did was try to get everyone tired. Ali would lay on them ropes and tyson would knock him threw the ropes..
@LeevilleEffect Don't forget Ali had one of the greatest chins in the history of heavyweight boxing!
Surviving 2 of the hardest punchers ever - George Foreman and Earnie Shavers. Similarly, he survived Joe Fraizer - someone with a similar style to Tyson and won 2/3 fights. I don't feel he would go through with rope-a-dope vs Tyson; he stopped once he saw it didn't work against Fraizer. He would rely on his long jab and lead right hands to win.
@LeevilleEffect Uhh because that wasn't the prime Ali. Watch him when he was 22 back in the 60s, he absolutely clowned guys. He never layed on the ropes, he moved like a lightweight, had the handspeed of a lightweight and the power of a heavyweight. I've always said this, Tyson was an amazing puncher and a great boxer when he was actually training, Ali was a force of nature.
Uhh Tyson DIDN'T slip the jabs of the fighters that rdpadake was referring to and had to settle for a decision. He is talking about actually history. Tyson still hit them more times than they hit him.
Tyson was far from invincible when he was young, but because he got to the top early, he had the speed of a 17 year old coupled with his frame which was bulked up like a 30 year old.
Made him very dangerous and no wonder he developed this aura about him, he was damn good. But by no means invincible, especially against speed fighters - Tony Tucker was speed fighting him to a loss until he broke his hand in the fight.
old larry holmes- saw in an interview he only took the fight in short notice for the money. In the first 2 rounds tyson coun't hit him. only when larry tired(due to poor conditoioong and training), he sat on ropes and started trading with tyson he was popped. Lewis would still beat this tyson, however, if tyson had CUS training him potentially he would have become the GOAT, however that never happened cos cus died
Tyson in his prime had a perfect peek a boo technique. It is actually a defensive technique, but he used it aggressively. It was fascinating to watch him, also during training.
Lennox Lewis ... well, tall guy, heavy hands, but ultimately I found his boxing style very boring ... Foreman, Tyson and Ali all had a much more interesting style.
@sparx2k9 I don't know about that. I think that match up would have been amazing. Just like Ernie Shavers- Foreman. But if Foreman can beat Frazier, and hurt Ali, he can take out Tyson.
@SuperSpartan3000 where would you like the break? lots of woman frame top athletes ,we dont know what happened,i think tyson has serious issues, but he was used and ,abused, that bitch was hangin with him cause he was a gentelman.?cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous.any other stupid questions ?
@sledtobed See there is the problem you call her a bitch from that I assume you have issues with women as does Tyson, if you look at he's rap sheet he has a history of being accused of rape or sexual assault maybe he thinks of them being bitches as well, being famous does not stop you committing crimes if you think that then I'm afraid your very naive, i.e Gary Glitter and Johnathon King both convicted pedophiles. It is not about being stupid it is about doing something wrong
@SuperSpartan3000 no i only have issues with bitches, and i dont know if she is cos i dont know her like i dont know tyson, there are woman who lie for money too.she new who he was! tell me you never met a bitch ,honestly a woman who was worthless and i will admit i have issues with woman if you havent lol comparing this with pedophiles is childish, children are defenceless, she was able to make a choice to room with him judge his character for the night before hand why did she go
@sledtobed Yes I have met women who are bitches but on the flip side I have met men who are bastards. Desiree Washington was only 18 still a teenager, again I reiterate that Tyson has a HISTORY of accusations of either assault or sexual crimes, your defence of Tyson by saying and I quote "cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous" that is why I used 2 famous people who have committed worse crimes ie pedophilia why would they be so stupid yet they still did it
@SuperSpartan3000 yes men can be retards, and were those pedophiles filthy rich though?i'm not defending tyson,i'm saying it seemed back in those days he was gettin framed.he probably was agressive sexually thinkin she liked it,what i'm sayin is did she say no i dont want this ,i'm gonna call the cops ?or go along and burn him later after she talked to a freind ?was she mad cos he didnt treat her right ,WE DONT KNOW,i do know he was used by all,and he was dumb. anyways he payed
@sledtobed if tyson did it he got what he deserved ,if she lied she'll get what she deserves later,i would be cautious if i was famous in america ,to many haters lookin to burn yah,
@sledtobed Yes those pedophiles were rich but it has to do with fame, again your quote "cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous" cannot be used as a defence to sat he didn't do it. We both have our opinions you think he's innocent I think he's guilty, but for all those accusations did they all try to frame him
@SuperSpartan3000 ha,heres the thing, the kids didnt lie trying to get something ?they didnt ask to get abused for the money ,thats the POINT,the girl may have,to tyson ,and i didnt say he was innocent!! my first comment was did he?we both dont know.i just dont like scammin woman who MAY pull that.if you were with a woman and she kinda wants to ,and is teasin and holdin off ,and plays that for a while, then makes you work for it and you get it finally.then you think
@sledtobed I was using the pedophiles as a example to your statement "cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous", it could be any other crime like murder ie OJ Simpson or getting caught in public toilets like George Michael, my POINT is that famous people do commit crimes and yes I agree some people take advantage of them, like Don King did with a lot of boxers, but I think we are going to have to agree to disagree about Tyson many accusations of sexual assault
@SuperSpartan3000 shes not for me and dont call her, give her the cold shoulder,if your rich she may think, revenge, but for most regular guys she thinks move on?i dunno just commenting.i dont say hes innocent, but i do know woman.about the peophiles ....once proven guilty ..first time..castration..monitor on their body, detects sounds or distress,or anything indicating violece to children,a poison is injected and their dead...no fucking around.
@SuperSpartan3000 all the hype talk also before a fight ,mostly bullshit ,he usually hugged his apponents after fights,he was a troubled youth with a big mouth, abused by pricks like don king.people close to him died etc etc and a kid rebels.its too bad ,not only for him but stars, singers fucked by americas illusion of the dream.they all started as humans with talent, got rich ,burnt out, then everyone attacks who doesant really know them...like yourself
Holmes has fought some of the best, but Tyson was only man to scare him inside a ring. Get Ali in same fight, or anyone, and same outcome. Ali couldn't hold off Tyson for 4-5 rnds. I love how people say Tyson has only KO power, and is a 3-4 rnd guy. He can go the full rounds, it's all about how you do inside the ring.
@MrLakerman89 .get ali in the same fight/prime tyson wud beat prime ali, etc, etc.clearly shows you are a tyson fan.a hardcore tyson fan.even if god came down to fight prime tyson then tyson wud whip god too, right?
look dont get too emotional.the world will never see a prime ali vs prime tyson.period.your comments and people who think the way you do are only based on personal opinions.and you know opinion is like an asshole.everybody has one.and in my opinion ali wud whup and slap tyson.
@MrLakerman89 Agree . Tyson was more than capable of going the full distance He trained to do so . The reason people say he only has KO power was because he had awesome power and his opponents just couldn't take it . Tyson was a fantastically skilled boxer with awesome defense, even though he was known as an attacking fighter. He didn't take as many punches to the head like a lot of fighters did namely because the fights didn't last too long !! but also because he was very skilled defensively .
@gvader Ahahaha good one. Lennox lewis schooled Tyson back in the days they were kids. If Prime Tyson couldnt knock out mediocre technical boxers like Bonecrusher Smith, Mitch green and (the biggest laughing stock) James quick Tillis who was KO'd by MARVIS Frazier. What makes you honestly think that Prime Lewis would have any trouble?
@POTATER1228 Because sparring is one thing and when Tyson was Tyson NO ONE could stop him. Even Marciano lost an amatuer fight but when it came down to the real deal no one could touch him
@gvader Marciano fought bums, light heavys and hasbeens as a champion for just 6 defences and even struggled against some of them, and ran away into retirement when Sonny Liston and the lightning fast Patterson came along.
I have lots of respect for Marciano acheiving a lot given his limited abilities, but dont pretend hes some God.
@rdpadake Well maybe so but his record speaks for itself and it is hard to stay unbeaten. Actually Ray Robinson was "God" like material in my opinion but that's a whole other argument. You seem to be the boxing expert my question is who do you think would have won, Robinson or Mayweather? I know different time different era but who do you say?
@gvader I aint no expert! I only boxed in a club for a few weeks and got beaten up lol.
But I'd say Robbo wins that, hes heavier, stronger but still retains great speed. He'd take Mayweather on majority decision.
I'm not sure its that hard to stay unbeaten. Sven Otkke stayed unbeatern for years as a disputed champion, but hes king of shit. Obviously Marciano was WAY WAY better than Otkke, but you get my point.
Respect to Marciano, hes definitely a great champ, but only borderline ATG
@gvader What is gonna stop Lennox from holding like bonecrusher, than fighting back like he did against Tyson of '02? Tyson had trouble with those with excellent jabs and long arms. I mean REALLY long arms, and who knew what they were doing. ANd in sparring Tyson tried his hardest and was stopped by Lennox's jab. Also he was outboxed in the Junior Olympics, which is why he didnt have a GOLD, but a silver. and tillis (one of the worst heavys ever) took Tyson the distance in his prime
@gvader No...THIS Mike Tyson would have lost severely to Lennox Lewis..and more than just saying a blanket statement..I'll show you the reason.Watch the video. Mike Tyson has two "sets". One"set"is when he has no plan to attack. His whole body bounces. His second "set" is when his feet plant and only his shoulders bounce. That is his attack set. 85 percent of the time from the attack set..if you count 1..1000..2..on 2 is when Mike attacks. Mike also doesn't flurry if his first punch misses.
@Sn4pDr4gon Im sure after all this time(2012) youd be able to pull that from tysons style, but at the time most didnt know how to fight tyson until douglas, i would even say tillis somewhat showed how to survive with tyson. being able to see who he lost to and why he lost years and years later is the reason why its easy now to figure that out now.
This is not a retrospective thing. This is how you watch a fighter. If you think that the trainers of Tyson's opponents didn't watch film..you're greatly mistaken. The fighters who fought Tyson later on made mistakes.Holmes knew best. His knockout was a result of not paying attention to Tyson's timing which was exactly the same as it had been all fight.Watch Holmes repeatedly jab Tyson before Tyson sets up.Holmes knew his timing and disrupted him repeatedly.
@johntvette I agree, but none of Tysons opponents BEFORE tillis could go the full fight with him in the pros. So thats kind of irrelevant i mean, who wasnt competitive in the sport? its boxing, anyone who stepped in the ring and really fought was competitive, them being scared doesnt contradict competitiveness...it cant, larry holmes was scared of tyson and he still fought good, not prime larry but he fought the best he could. Tillis MORE showed how to survive than how to beat him.
@Sn4pDr4gon Don't bother. Tyson fans are masters of revisionist history and 'what ifs'. Reality has no place in their arguments, so by injecting it you are only confusing and angering them.
@gvader THIS Holmes would have been destroyed by Lennox Lewis. This is the worst Holmes to every step in the ring. He hadn't fought in 2 years, didn't have an adequate training camp, and had terribly skinny legs. This win was no more credible than Holmes' win over Ali.
@gvader Totally agreed. Mike Tyson lost to Douglas because his mind was elsewhere when his manager died. He didn't train as hard and he just lost it. Back in the day, Tyson was untouchable.
@MIKESOWELL Thats young bro look at Bernard Hopkins 46 and still fighting. And cant for get about Mr.Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is 35 and fighting undefeated 42 and 0. People just let they self go they think when they hit serten point in there life they dont have to eat right or work out. Its true you see people back in day in good shape but when they hit late 30 early 40 they get lazy . I know people cant do the same things they use to do when they in there 20 but man adleast try & they dont.
@ken162008 Certain fighters age faster than others. Some fighters put their bodies through a great strain from which they never recover from. Archie Moore fought until he was about 50. But I get your point.
Mike Tyson was a punk who never beat anyone in their prime. Larry Holmes 1978-82 was unbeatable.....most underrated heavyweight champion ever. 22 straight defenses. Frankly he's top 5 all time easy imo and few can prove me wrong on that.
@aitraining prime for prime Tyson would have dismantled holmes in the first round Tyson was the most perfectly trained boxer and who did holmes ever beat? FUCKING NOBODIES so how can you call tyson a punk LOL
@TheLeithBoy so a 38 year old larry holmes survives four rounds, but a prime holmes gets ko'd in the first. tyson beat just as many nobodies as holmes did
@wakko380 i never said he didnt beat anyone good, ruddock, bruno and tillis were good fighters. but his competition was no better than holmes's. and he said tyson kos prime holmes in one, well it took a prime tyson 4 to take out a 38 year old holmes who hadnt fought in 2 years.
@TheLeithBoy LOL. A prime Tyson took 4 rounds to beat an old Holmes yet he beats a prime Holmes in 1 round. Haha! Not the smartest are you?
Holmes beat Shavers (x2), Norton, Weaver, Berbick, Spinks, Cooney, Witherspoon, Williams and Mercer. If you think those guys are nobodies than you havent got a clue about boxing.
@ThecrazyworldofBM agreed and well said! These Tyson tools crack me up. So Holmes gets his reputation hit by THIS loss (over the hill) - yet gets no credit for crushing Ali (who was only 2 yrs out of his last title). They all talk "tyson prime" which kills me lol yet Larry Holmes 1978-82 was even more dominant. 22 straight title defenses. Tyson could only wish for that. But why argue with idiots.... :)
@aitraining I LOVE Mike Tyson. But anyone who argues that Tyson was better than Larry Holmes either needs their heads examined, have no knowledge of boxing, or both. Ali in 1980 was a sick man. He was deteriorating even as far back as when he fought Shavers.
@porsche19962 Even Tyson said that he couldn't beat Larry Holmes in his prime. If he couldn't beat Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, and fucking BUSTER DOUGLAS, how could he hope to beat a top five all time heavyweight?
@MIKESOWELL Tyson could have beaten anyone in his prime based on pure physical strength and ability. Unfortunately, Tyson's obviously not a real bright guy, and made some horrible choices in and out of the ring. If Tyson would have fought Lewis in 89 or 90, he would have killed him.
@mustwinder Son, if you did a little research you would find out that Tyson ducked Lennox Lewis as early as 1988-1989. He ducked Holyfield early on. He was scared to death of Foreman. This prime Tyson thing is getting old. Who the heck has a prime of 4 years, age 19-23? Let's be honest, Tyson did not fight a top fighter in his prime, with the exception of Michael Spinks.
@MIKESOWELL Son? You ain't my fuckin daddy, boy. Secondly, all the shit you're talking is just unsubstantiated gossip and crap spewing from the mouths of Tyson haters. I'm not a huge Tyson fan but I have been following boxing for over 30 years, Mike was the best heavyweight of the 80's.
@MIKESOWELL No problem, didn't mean to be a prick but my father is very ill, so it's kind of a sore spot. I agree, Holmes was a great boxer in his prime. I know a guy who used to be sparring partner and when I asked him why hit quit, he said Holmes knocked him out twice. Evidently, Holmes didn't mind sparring against bigger guys because this dude was well over 200 pounds and easily 6'3.
Holmes was within about two months of turning 40 when he fought Tyson. It would have been great to see the Holmes of a few years earlier vs. Tyson. That could have gone either way I think.
Tyson fans are delusional and probably just american idiots who's boxing knowledge consists of watching tyson's knockout volume 1 and maybe rocky 1 2 3 and 4. This is the oldest shittiest most pathetic version of larry holmes and prime mike tyson still took so long. This larry holmes is nothing and you can tell he hardly can walk into the ring he was so old and slow lol. If this is 'prime' Tyson it just shows how overrated this garbage animal really is.
@xurius1212 you are being ridiculous. Tyson was a great fighter and proved that way back when he won the heavyweight belt at 20 years old. 38 is not as old as you make it out to be. Sure it would be a different fight if Holmes was in his prime, but tyson would still get the KO.
A boxer's prime is different from the prime of say a nba or nfl player. 38 might not be so old for say a bernard hopkins, but 38 for larry holmes is fucking over. This is no where near the real holmes. this is a fucking hollow victory. It's just like if vitali had beat lennox that fight when lennox was old as fuck. It will be a hollow win, (lol except vitali still can't beat a old ass over the hill lennox)
@bigdaddycool09 It wasn't just that Holmes was 38 years old; it was his two year inactivity and questionable shape and mindset for the fight. A prime Larry Holmes would have beat Tyson (which Tyson has already agreed)...this Holmes came in for a pay day.
@bigdaddycool09 38 is very old. You lose a certain % of lung power and muscle mass every year after the age of 30. If you come back from a long layoff at 38, you are going to get your ass kicked unless you use your brain very very carefully to l;ast the distance, and Larry was being a little cocky for his own good in that round he gets knocked down.
However - it was amusing to see Larry showboating against Tyson at his age ! nice one Larry.
@Kerbee Young Rocky had the good grace not to showboat and he respected old man joe, which is always a show of good character. You could tell he adored Louis, who would probably have beaten any heavyweight in history, he was top of the ATG list.
I will always love Rocky, even though in middle age he was less gracious. I guess the career does things to your head.
@xurius1212 The young Larry would have been up on his toes the whole fight with a puncher like Tyson, sticking and moving until Tyson wore down. The old Larry could only do it for 30 seconds in the 4th round. The young Larry would have taken Tyson beyond the normal 3 round limit Tyson was used to and use that left jab to soften Tyson up and then , put him down when fatigue set in. Tyson would have chased him all day, and would have been wore out by the 8th round.
Holmes at this point had no business sharing the same ring with a prime Tyson,Holmes in his best days wouldve used his legendary jab to keep Tyson at bay and wouldve frustated him,en route to a clear unanimous decision, with perhaps some scary moments, but his boxing skills wouldve carry the day in his favor.
Larry called it. Before and after this fight. He said Mike would end up in the pen. He felt that no man could fight with that much "bad intention" and not wind in prison. He was right.
What kind of schooling did Foreman give to Morrison? Ali to Berbick? Norton to Cooney? Holmes still had something left in the tank. I wouldn't give any of the other fighters I mentioned much of a chance against Mercer or Holyfield at the age Holmes fought them. Remember Holmes was a late starter to boxing but the dude was just never going to beat Tyson in a H2H matchup. You can hate on Tyson and he is overrated but he was still a great fighter.
Holmes wasn't as washed up as people are saying. Holmes beat Mercer after this (a guy who beat Lennox Lewis but was robbed), he gave Holyfield a competitive fight, and he beat some other decent fighters. Tyson at his peak was an animal although there are still fighters I'd take over him head to head even in his prime.
@jackolini yeah he was ...70's boxers were just so elite a 42 year old fat ass holmes could still go the distance with holyfield and school ray mercer.
@zeus13th "Mike Tyson Holmes" is Larry Holmes' youngest son. A stipulation of the contract for this very fight was that if Larry lost, he had to name his next son after Tyson.
Why did Holmes want to take this fight? Holmes said that Shavers was the hardest puncher he has ever faced.... I guess he said it before he met Tyson. Tyson nearly ripped Holmes's face off!
@MegaYouri13 After this fight, Holmes was interviewed by Sugar Ray Leonard. SRL asked him if Tyson hit harder than the "other guys" (Shavers, etc.). Holmes said no : the other guys hit much harder (!!!) but he did concede that Tyson was exceptionally fast.
Later, he said that getting hit by Shavers was like being hit by a speeding truck, but Tyson hit like a Ferrari. IMHO, this is just sour grapes & jealousy on the part of Holmes, who always suffered from a post Ali inferiority complex.
@JSavic Fact is that Holmes NEVER wanted to give Tyson hardly any credit at all. I think he always seriously resented Tyson because he was able to capture the peoples' attention in a way that he NEVER could. No one really gave a damn about Holmes and will always be remembered as the guy who held the title between Ali and Tyson. It's kind of a shame in a way, but then again, it's really not because Holmes was kind of a dick, let's face it. I'm really glad he didn't break Marciano's record.
those of you who say larry holmes was old when tyson fought him you fail to understand that evander holyfield in his prime had a lot of trouble with holmes
and tyson beat him in a quicker and more effective way
@s123rew Holmes is underrated by a lot of younger fans who don't know anything about boxing pre-Tyson, of which there are plenty, judging by the comments on this video. But for those with a bit more breadth to their boxing experience, Larry Holmes will always be one of the greatest.
And far, far better than Tyson. He's twice Tyson's age in this fight. I think Spinx was even older than that when he fought Tyson. And yes, Tyson won. Wow. How legendary of him to beat up on men twice his age.
@afterapplepicking That's how much you Know about boxing. Tyson didn't fight the Spinks that fought Ali he fought his brother Michael. The spinks that you are talking about is leon spinks.
Tyson vs. Foreman ... I wish the fight, but Foreman knew his style of boxing, Tyson would have trouble and could lose.

old larry holmes- saw in an interview he only took the fight in short notice for the money.
B04Jordan 2 months ago
absolutely .lewis woudnt have lived with him ..its obvious! no disrespect to lewis intended..just a fact really
daisypodd 2 months ago
Tyson in his prime had a perfect peek a boo technique. It is actually a defensive technique, but he used it aggressively. It was fascinating to watch him, also during training.
Lennox Lewis ... well, tall guy, heavy hands, but ultimately I found his boxing style very boring ... Foreman, Tyson and Ali all had a much more interesting style.
shevegen 2 months ago
@shevegen Foreman's style was interesing?
He was just swinging wildly all the time.

@michaelyouth yeah Foreman would win against Tyson
sparx2k9 2 months ago
@sparx2k9 I don't know about that. I think that match up would have been amazing. Just like Ernie Shavers- Foreman. But if Foreman can beat Frazier, and hurt Ali, he can take out Tyson.

SuperSpartan3000 6 days ago
@SuperSpartan3000 where would you like the break? lots of woman frame top athletes ,we dont know what happened,i think tyson has serious issues, but he was used and ,abused, that bitch was hangin with him cause he was a gentelman.?cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous.any other stupid questions ?
sledtobed 6 days ago
@sledtobed See there is the problem you call her a bitch from that I assume you have issues with women as does Tyson, if you look at he's rap sheet he has a history of being accused of rape or sexual assault maybe he thinks of them being bitches as well, being famous does not stop you committing crimes if you think that then I'm afraid your very naive, i.e Gary Glitter and Johnathon King both convicted pedophiles. It is not about being stupid it is about doing something wrong
SuperSpartan3000 6 days ago
@SuperSpartan3000 no i only have issues with bitches, and i dont know if she is cos i dont know her like i dont know tyson, there are woman who lie for money too.she new who he was! tell me you never met a bitch ,honestly a woman who was worthless and i will admit i have issues with woman if you havent lol comparing this with pedophiles is childish, children are defenceless, she was able to make a choice to room with him judge his character for the night before hand why did she go
sledtobed 6 days ago
@sledtobed Yes I have met women who are bitches but on the flip side I have met men who are bastards. Desiree Washington was only 18 still a teenager, again I reiterate that Tyson has a HISTORY of accusations of either assault or sexual crimes, your defence of Tyson by saying and I quote "cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous" that is why I used 2 famous people who have committed worse crimes ie pedophilia why would they be so stupid yet they still did it
SuperSpartan3000 6 days ago
@SuperSpartan3000 yes men can be retards, and were those pedophiles filthy rich though?i'm not defending tyson,i'm saying it seemed back in those days he was gettin framed.he probably was agressive sexually thinkin she liked it,what i'm sayin is did she say no i dont want this ,i'm gonna call the cops ?or go along and burn him later after she talked to a freind ?was she mad cos he didnt treat her right ,WE DONT KNOW,i do know he was used by all,and he was dumb. anyways he payed
sledtobed 5 days ago
@sledtobed if tyson did it he got what he deserved ,if she lied she'll get what she deserves later,i would be cautious if i was famous in america ,to many haters lookin to burn yah,
sledtobed 5 days ago
@sledtobed Yes those pedophiles were rich but it has to do with fame, again your quote "cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous" cannot be used as a defence to sat he didn't do it. We both have our opinions you think he's innocent I think he's guilty, but for all those accusations did they all try to frame him
SuperSpartan3000 5 days ago
@SuperSpartan3000 ha,heres the thing, the kids didnt lie trying to get something ?they didnt ask to get abused for the money ,thats the POINT,the girl may have,to tyson ,and i didnt say he was innocent!! my first comment was did he?we both dont know.i just dont like scammin woman who MAY pull that.if you were with a woman and she kinda wants to ,and is teasin and holdin off ,and plays that for a while, then makes you work for it and you get it finally.then you think
sledtobed 5 days ago
@sledtobed I was using the pedophiles as a example to your statement "cmon ,he aint stupid enough to rape someone being that famous", it could be any other crime like murder ie OJ Simpson or getting caught in public toilets like George Michael, my POINT is that famous people do commit crimes and yes I agree some people take advantage of them, like Don King did with a lot of boxers, but I think we are going to have to agree to disagree about Tyson many accusations of sexual assault
SuperSpartan3000 5 days ago
@SuperSpartan3000 ok
sledtobed 5 days ago
@SuperSpartan3000 shes not for me and dont call her, give her the cold shoulder,if your rich she may think, revenge, but for most regular guys she thinks move on?i dunno just commenting.i dont say hes innocent, but i do know woman.about the peophiles ....once proven guilty ..first time..castration..monitor on their body, detects sounds or distress,or anything indicating violece to children,a poison is injected and their dead...no fucking around.
sledtobed 5 days ago

MrLakerman89 2 months ago
@MrLakerman89 lol jesus ali fought a guy called george foreman he hit harder then tyson ever did and he knocked foreman out
toddskisyd 2 months ago
@MrLakerman89 .get ali in the same fight/prime tyson wud beat prime ali, etc, etc.clearly shows you are a tyson fan.a hardcore tyson fan.even if god came down to fight prime tyson then tyson wud whip god too, right?
look dont get too emotional.the world will never see a prime ali vs prime tyson.period.your comments and people who think the way you do are only based on personal opinions.and you know opinion is like an asshole.everybody has one.and in my opinion ali wud whup and slap tyson.
MrRainbow31 2 months ago

POTATER1228 1 month ago
@POTATER1228 Because sparring is one thing and when Tyson was Tyson NO ONE could stop him. Even Marciano lost an amatuer fight but when it came down to the real deal no one could touch him
gvader 1 month ago
@gvader
Tyson lost an amateur fight too. Oh and when is Tyson "Tyson", when he's not losing? lol
imblessedso 1 month ago
@gvader Marciano fought bums, light heavys and hasbeens as a champion for just 6 defences and even struggled against some of them, and ran away into retirement when Sonny Liston and the lightning fast Patterson came along.
I have lots of respect for Marciano acheiving a lot given his limited abilities, but dont pretend hes some God.
rdpadake 1 month ago
@rdpadake Well maybe so but his record speaks for itself and it is hard to stay unbeaten. Actually Ray Robinson was "God" like material in my opinion but that's a whole other argument. You seem to be the boxing expert my question is who do you think would have won, Robinson or Mayweather? I know different time different era but who do you say?
gvader 1 month ago
@gvader I aint no expert! I only boxed in a club for a few weeks and got beaten up lol.
But I'd say Robbo wins that, hes heavier, stronger but still retains great speed. He'd take Mayweather on majority decision.
I'm not sure its that hard to stay unbeaten. Sven Otkke stayed unbeatern for years as a disputed champion, but hes king of shit. Obviously Marciano was WAY WAY better than Otkke, but you get my point.
Respect to Marciano, hes definitely a great champ, but only borderline ATG

@POTATER1228 Plus if you remember the fight Bonehugger was holding Tyson the whole fight
gvader 1 month ago
@POTATER1228 But again you could be right because you never know what fighter is gonna show up
gvader 1 month ago
@gvader What is gonna stop Lennox from holding like bonecrusher, than fighting back like he did against Tyson of '02? Tyson had trouble with those with excellent jabs and long arms. I mean REALLY long arms, and who knew what they were doing. ANd in sparring Tyson tried his hardest and was stopped by Lennox's jab. Also he was outboxed in the Junior Olympics, which is why he didnt have a GOLD, but a silver. and tillis (one of the worst heavys ever) took Tyson the distance in his prime
POTATER1228 1 month ago
@gvader No...THIS Mike Tyson would have lost severely to Lennox Lewis..and more than just saying a blanket statement..I'll show you the reason.Watch the video. Mike Tyson has two "sets". One"set"is when he has no plan to attack. His whole body bounces. His second "set" is when his feet plant and only his shoulders bounce. That is his attack set. 85 percent of the time from the attack set..if you count 1..1000..2..on 2 is when Mike attacks. Mike also doesn't flurry if his first punch misses.
Sn4pDr4gon 3 weeks ago
@Sn4pDr4gon Im sure after all this time(2012) youd be able to pull that from tysons style, but at the time most didnt know how to fight tyson until douglas, i would even say tillis somewhat showed how to survive with tyson. being able to see who he lost to and why he lost years and years later is the reason why its easy now to figure that out now.
BiggieSmalls11111 2 weeks ago
@BiggieSmalls11111
Sn4pDr4gon 2 weeks ago
@Sn4pDr4gon True, but still if it was that easy to figure out then brothers would have been beating Tyson way before Douglas did it.
BiggieSmalls11111 2 weeks ago
@BiggieSmalls11111 Tillis did more than just survive. He was competitive in that fight.
johntvette 2 weeks ago
@johntvette I agree, but none of Tysons opponents BEFORE tillis could go the full fight with him in the pros. So thats kind of irrelevant i mean, who wasnt competitive in the sport? its boxing, anyone who stepped in the ring and really fought was competitive, them being scared doesnt contradict competitiveness...it cant, larry holmes was scared of tyson and he still fought good, not prime larry but he fought the best he could. Tillis MORE showed how to survive than how to beat him.
BiggieSmalls11111 2 weeks ago
@Sn4pDr4gon Don't bother. Tyson fans are masters of revisionist history and 'what ifs'. Reality has no place in their arguments, so by injecting it you are only confusing and angering them.
johntvette 2 weeks ago
@johntvette Hahahahaha...agreed.
Sn4pDr4gon 2 weeks ago
@gvader THIS Holmes would have been destroyed by Lennox Lewis. This is the worst Holmes to every step in the ring. He hadn't fought in 2 years, didn't have an adequate training camp, and had terribly skinny legs. This win was no more credible than Holmes' win over Ali.
johntvette 2 weeks ago
@gvader Totally agreed. Mike Tyson lost to Douglas because his mind was elsewhere when his manager died. He didn't train as hard and he just lost it. Back in the day, Tyson was untouchable.

messier991102 3 months ago
@TheLeithBoy LOL. A prime Tyson took 4 rounds to beat an old Holmes yet he beats a prime Holmes in 1 round. Haha! Not the smartest are you?
Holmes beat Shavers (x2), Norton, Weaver, Berbick, Spinks, Cooney, Witherspoon, Williams and Mercer. If you think those guys are nobodies than you havent got a clue about boxing.

@ThePastorGregory Yeah, Witherspoon probably deserved the nod in that one. Not the best example I gave.
ThecrazyworldofBM 3 months ago
@ThecrazyworldofBM agreed and well said! These Tyson tools crack me up. So Holmes gets his reputation hit by THIS loss (over the hill) - yet gets no credit for crushing Ali (who was only 2 yrs out of his last title). They all talk "tyson prime" which kills me lol yet Larry Holmes 1978-82 was even more dominant. 22 straight title defenses. Tyson could only wish for that. But why argue with idiots.... :)
aitraining 3 months ago
@aitraining I LOVE Mike Tyson. But anyone who argues that Tyson was better than Larry Holmes either needs their heads examined, have no knowledge of boxing, or both. Ali in 1980 was a sick man. He was deteriorating even as far back as when he fought Shavers.
MIKESOWELL 3 months ago
@MIKESOWELL I agree dude. Larry Holmes in his prime was the ultimate boxer.
aitraining 3 months ago
@MIKESOWELL YOU ARE NUUUTS TYSON WOULD BEAL HOLMES WHEN TYSON WAS 4.
porsche19962 3 months ago
@porsche19962 Even Tyson said that he couldn't beat Larry Holmes in his prime. If he couldn't beat Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, and fucking BUSTER DOUGLAS, how could he hope to beat a top five all time heavyweight?
MIKESOWELL 3 months ago
@MIKESOWELL Tyson could have beaten anyone in his prime based on pure physical strength and ability. Unfortunately, Tyson's obviously not a real bright guy, and made some horrible choices in and out of the ring. If Tyson would have fought Lewis in 89 or 90, he would have killed him.
mustwinder 3 months ago
@mustwinder Son, if you did a little research you would find out that Tyson ducked Lennox Lewis as early as 1988-1989. He ducked Holyfield early on. He was scared to death of Foreman. This prime Tyson thing is getting old. Who the heck has a prime of 4 years, age 19-23? Let's be honest, Tyson did not fight a top fighter in his prime, with the exception of Michael Spinks.
MIKESOWELL 3 months ago
@MIKESOWELL Son? You ain't my fuckin daddy, boy. Secondly, all the shit you're talking is just unsubstantiated gossip and crap spewing from the mouths of Tyson haters. I'm not a huge Tyson fan but I have been following boxing for over 30 years, Mike was the best heavyweight of the 80's.

@mustwinder Holmes was the best 1980-85, Tyson 1985-89. And sorry if I offended you with saying son.
MIKESOWELL 3 months ago
@MIKESOWELL No problem, didn't mean to be a prick but my father is very ill, so it's kind of a sore spot. I agree, Holmes was a great boxer in his prime. This is the oldest shittiest most pathetic version of larry holmes and prime mike tyson still took so long. This larry holmes is nothing and you can tell he hardly can walk into the ring he was so old and slow lol. If this is 'prime' Tyson it just shows how overrated this garbage animal really is.
xurius1212 2 months ago
@xurius1212 you are being ridiculous. Tyson was a great fighter and proved that way back when he won the heavyweight belt at 20 years old. 38 is not as old as you make it out to be. Sure it would be a different fight if Holmes was in his prime, but tyson would still get the KO.
bigdaddycool09 1 month ago
A boxer's prime is different from the prime of say a nba or nfl player. 38 might not be so old for say a bernard hopkins, but 38 for larry holmes is fucking over. This is no where near the real holmes. this is a fucking hollow victory. It's just like if vitali had beat lennox that fight when lennox was old as fuck. It will be a hollow win, (lol except vitali still can't beat a old ass over the hill lennox)
xurius1212 1 month ago
@bigdaddycool09 It wasn't just that Holmes was 38 years old; it was his two year inactivity and questionable shape and mindset for the fight. A prime Larry Holmes would have beat Tyson (which Tyson has already agreed)...this Holmes came in for a pay day.
classics4life 1 month ago
@bigdaddycool09 38 is very old. You lose a certain % of lung power and muscle mass every year after the age of 30. If you come back from a long layoff at 38, you are going to get your ass kicked unless you use your brain very very carefully to l;ast the distance, and Larry was being a little cocky for his own good in that round he gets knocked down.
However - it was amusing to see Larry showboating against Tyson at his age ! nice one Larry.
rdpadake 1 month ago
@rdpadake his fight reminds me of Joe Louis vs Rocky Marciano . All Louis showed was a left jab, but still did pretty well for the first 5-6 rounds.
Kerbee 1 month ago
@Kerbee Young Rocky had the good grace not to showboat and he respected old man joe, which is always a show of good character. You could tell he adored Louis, who would probably have beaten any heavyweight in history, he was top of the ATG list.
I will always love Rocky, even though in middle age he was less gracious. I guess the career does things to your head.
rdpadake 1 month ago
@xurius1212 The young Larry would have been up on his toes the whole fight with a puncher like Tyson, sticking and moving until Tyson wore down. The old Larry could only do it for 30 seconds in the 4th round. The young Larry would have taken Tyson beyond the normal 3 round limit Tyson was used to and use that left jab to soften Tyson up and then , put him down when fatigue set in. Tyson would have chased him all day, and would have been wore out by the 8th round.
Thomas23942 1 month ago
Holmes at this point had no business sharing the same ring with a prime Tyson,Holmes in his best days wouldve used his legendary jab to keep Tyson at bay and wouldve frustated him,en route to a clear unanimous decision, with perhaps some scary moments, but his boxing skills wouldve carry the day in his favor.
julius5551 4 months ago

What kind of schooling did Foreman give to Morrison? Ali to Berbick? Norton to Cooney? Holmes still had something left in the tank. I wouldn't give any of the other fighters I mentioned much of a chance against Mercer or Holyfield at the age Holmes fought them. Remember Holmes was a late starter to boxing but the dude was just never going to beat Tyson in a H2H matchup. You can hate on Tyson and he is overrated but he was still a great fighter.

Why did Holmes want to take this fight? Holmes said that Shavers was the hardest puncher he has ever faced.... I guess he said it before he met Tyson. Tyson nearly ripped Holmes's face off!
MegaYouri13 5 months ago
@MegaYouri13 no he said after that shaver hit much harder, which he did. this was holmes first fight in like three years.
messier991102 5 months ago
@MegaYouri13 After this fight, Holmes was interviewed by Sugar Ray Leonard. SRL asked him if Tyson hit harder than the "other guys" (Shavers, etc.). Holmes said no : the other guys hit much harder (!!!) but he did concede that Tyson was exceptionally fast.
Later, he said that getting hit by Shavers was like being hit by a speeding truck, but Tyson hit like a Ferrari. IMHO, this is just sour grapes & jealousy on the part of Holmes, who always suffered from a post Ali inferiority complex.
JSavic 5 months ago
@JSavic Fact is that Holmes NEVER wanted to give Tyson hardly any credit at all. I think he always seriously resented Tyson because he was able to capture the peoples' attention in a way that he NEVER could. No one really gave a damn about Holmes and will always be remembered as the guy who held the title between Ali and Tyson. It's kind of a shame in a way, but then again, it's really not because Holmes was kind of a dick, let's face it. I'm really glad he didn't break Marciano's record.

those of you who say larry holmes was old when tyson fought him you fail to understand that evander holyfield in his prime had a lot of trouble with holmes
and tyson beat him in a quicker and more effective way

holmes was a great fighter at his peak just as good as foreman frazier and even ali very underrated fighter
