Absolutely breathtaking voice. He was truly a gift from whatever you believe God to be while he was with us for ever so briefly. Thanks so much for sharing this.
@asceses Totally agee with you on that one ! when Astaire dances you don,t move the camere away from his feet, well you think;-) happend even in those movies, proves camera work is an art by itself. you have to know when or what to film. Missed changed indeed;(
Sometimes though its not the camera mans fault, its the gallery where the producer and director sits, they decide which camera will take presidence and at what time. I must admit, ive forgotten how this clip goes now, havent looked at it since i last commented so cant remember if it was the camera mans fault or the galleries LOL
Best version I could find after quite a bit of searching - and worth the effort. Thanks for sharing. Shame that boy is gone. He was my first favorite singer-songwriter as a kid in the 1970's - long before I understood the label "singer-songwriter"
John is one of the very few performers who was a pure vessel of the Spirit of Life. Thank you for your music and the joy you brought. Love you so much!
John played a big part in my family's life. My son learn to play because of John. Now, my oldest grandson is playing and writing music at a conservatory school. I was a fan from the very first part of his career. John, you touch so many lives. Thank you, and you are missed and loved by so many.
I've loved John since I was a wee young thing (about a million years ago). His voice, his music, his words, his commitment ~~ never could there have been enough of him but I still cry for our loss.... I'd have rather have kept him around for another 45 years............................
He died before I was born but both the man and the music are inspiring to me and many others... and shall continue to be for generations to come. :) Keep flying free John!
It's bizarre that, given his popularity & the number of albums he sold that you rarely here his music on the radio - especially songs like this. Sad, very sad indeed.
I know of some really good tenors today - but none in folk/pop & certainly none in rock that can sing a lyrical line and really belt it out like this without screaming. His voice is rarely covered by layers of sound - it's out in front of everything with no sound effects or processing. It requires TALENT by golly!
"Come dance with the west wind and touch on the mountain tops, sail o'er the canyons and up to the stars. And reach for the heavens and hope for the future and all that we can be not just what we are." I love this song! Thanks for sharing this. We miss you John.
@stormspinner1 Well, you're in luck! John is back again, sort of....We are fortunate now to have a tribute artist in Ted Vigil from WA. Not only can Ted play guitar, he can sing like John. Check him out! I was lucky to see Ted a couple of years ago, and now he's even better. The Mt Vernon, WA concert in 2010 was awesome, although I wasn't there, check out the videos on youtube......
With just his voice and guitar John could hold an audience in the palm of his hand. The very first and the very last shows I saw John Denver do were solo acoustic concerts. I really look forward to being able to have this type of concert on DVD.

What kind of cruelty behests this world to steal a talent such as John? What did we do as a people to deserve such torture?

Arghh !! .. i cant watch this ... no close up view of John mastering the beggining and end guitar highlight? ... what was the camera man thinking?
