Love it! I have two rescued staffies. When I got my 1st one, my mum said she would never visit my house again. Well that lasted precisely an hour. She fell in love with my dog almost instantly, and when I rescued a 2nd from death row, she was with me all the way. Like me, my mum now campaigns to raise awareness of the plight of staffies. Thank you for making such a great video for them.
Got a staffy cross called Bruno, he's got three legs but you would never think it when he's chasing a ball. I fully believe it is irresponsible owners and poor attitudes in the press that have shaped peoples misconceptions of the breed. Poor Bruno was neglected by previous owners and was not socialised properly so he was unsure, however after 10 minutes with my dogs he was fine and because of the obvious weakness he was defensive, but patience, perseverence and good care has turned him around.
@Vez316 Thank you for telling us about Bruno. He's living proof of what can be achieved when people take the time to understand the breed AND put the effort into training them with some love and affection. Don't forget to keep an eye out for other videos on our channel!
We love this video so much, we have featured it on the front of our website. We have been trying for a long time to change the publics negative views of the poor Staffies and Cross Breeds but have felt quite alone in doing so.
@ANIMALSINNEED1004095 Thank you not only for posting the video on your site but also for the work you do. It's going to take time to change people's perceptions but we're convinced it can be done! Here's to a future where staffies are accepted for the wonderful breed they really are!
@ANIMALSINNEED1004095 Hello, thank you so much for putting this on your website! Just one thing though - we are called Wood Green, The Animals Charity. Are you able to amend this please? Thanks again.
@fldstreetdance Thank you for your comment. It's easy to fall into the trap of judging a book by its cover. Hopefully we can change people's perceptions about this wonderful breed.
I've watched this every day since I found it! And I'll keep sharing it far & wide, I hope the film reaches mainstream TV 'prime time' as it's the best way to open people's hearts and minds regarding Staffies. Sky News should broadcast it. Alfie is so much like our Patch :) xx
@rockinfortheplanet Thank you so much. With positive action like yours, we believe we can help change people's negative views about Alfie and co. Stay tuned for further promotional activity!
@jcedill Many thanks for your comment. The more people who understand what's trying to be said in our video the better chance there is of changing the negative perception that many have of this wonderful breed.
I'm sending this to all my contacts asking them to send on to all theirs. Anything to try to alter people's perception of Staffords, mainly brought about through sensationalist newspaper and television reporting, has to be a good thing.
@Chapstaff Thank you Caroline (and Tala!) for commenting and sharing the video- it's all helping to re-educate people about this breed. Staffies have been much maligned and maltreated: with help from the likes of yourself we think we can change that.
Oh my i burst into tears watching this. My mum used to hate staffies she used to think they were all bad dogs because she would sterotype of what she would hear in the news! Until i took her to Battersea. She fell inlove with a 4 month old boy and we took him home. He is the most precious thing in our lives. I am glad i changed her opinion on staff breeds. Because atleast its one more person who now loves them and will give them a chance :)
@happiness890 Wonderful to hear your story. We're hoping that little by little we can help change people's perceptions of Staffies. You've helped do that - so thank you!
@Gaskinator123 Whilst we never intended this ad to upset anyone, we hope you agree that it shines a light on the need for many to develop a better understanding of what is a wonderful breed. Hopefully Tilli would have approved. Thank you taking the trouble to comment.
This is wonderful, thank you for speaking up for Alfie and the fantastic loving Staffies that need a chance to be loved, in caring hands these dogs are second to none and they are especially good with children, sharing everywhere! :) xx
What a wonderful way to get the point across about these dogs, Alfie is beautiful.
