I just got this PC for Christmas. And it is amazing. But the left side of mine doesn't have the button above the USB imports. And There isn't a way to get to the AV plugs. Did they take it out of the new one? I've checked everything about it and even the book that came with it says there is an AV slot in the same spot as this video?

Im a mac user but I am also a programmer. I have a mac because I love it but the products I need to program with java are hard to find an equivalent for a mac software that dose the something as a windows software.What I was thinking about doing was getting an HDMI converter so I can use my macbook pro 16in. laptop with some type of Pc desktop. What dose every 1 recommend? The only issue im worried about is viruses. That is why I have a mac. But I need to download items that may contain these.

@lucky13ification depends what sort of gaming. Most games no. If your talking about basic games eg halo then yeah it should be fine. Its only got 2.7ghz and 4gb of ram so its not the best gaming computer lol... Most gaming computers dont look great. This is a touch screen computer with alot of style, not as much for gamers. But never the less I might by it because I dont like gaming to much.

I got this PC for Xmas 2009 and already have had repeated problems with it. Everything from TV tuner issues, to support updates not downloading properly, to it tellingg me my copies of Windows is not valid, and the latest, it just shuts itself off for no reason (not a "shut down" but it blips off like we've had a power failure) and I changed nothing on the computer. This is the third HP computer we've had issues with. Fool me once......guess I should have learned.

@barkway2 - if you're getting messages saying your copy of Windows isn't valid, then you didn't validate the installation on line with Microsoft in time before the 30 day grace period expired. This could also explain why the machine randomly shuts off, although that sounds indicative more of something like a power savings mode kicking in.

@barkway2 --IDK why it would say your copy of Windows is not valid unless it's not valid. Anyway, HP has really great Customer Service who have the ability to take control of your computer wirelessly and figure out what is going on. If that doesn't fix it, your Touchsmart comes with a 1 year warranty and if you recd it last Christmas, you should still be covered under warranty. They'll send someone out to your house under warranty to fix it.

@ItsAlban You know where you can open it on the left back side and there's the ports for internet and speakers? Right above that is where the HDMI port is. There's a separate piece that you can pull off. It if doesn't come off easily like the other, you don't have an HDMI port. I learned that the hard way. I pried it open and scratched up my $1000+ computer.

Too plain for a review, we happen to have a lower version of the 600 here in Canada, it has some issues not saying that they are bad, just things we would like to get clarification from somebody.

1)The 600-1050 doesn't come with BDR neither HDMI or at least ours didn't, but nowhere in the reviews u find online it says that (wonder why), is that for everyone?

2)While the touch part works nice we found a small issue when trying to close Maximized windows, get the X is just impossible, most of the time we have to move the window out of maximized or use the rt click and pick close, is that only us?

3)After less than a week the Canvas program is giving us some issues, when we pick the Canvas gadget to work on the TouchSmart program we get an error, we just ignore it by clicking the X (nothing happens anyway), is just a mere annoyance but we wonder if anybody has the same issue.

4)When we started our search for a good touch screen we tested Sony, Gateway and HP, we decided to go for HP since it was the best choice in our qualifying categories (performance, construction, looks and feel, features, price), there is a better feeling about the way the Sony touch sensitivity works and is just a bit smoother, when you open the Lagoon screen saver and start picking on the screen the Sony feels and looks fluid, the HP is a tad bit laggy.

5)There is the RF that came free and u have to install...do we?, there is no info about it, is it for the remote or the remote works without it?, well it does but we still have no clue of what to use it for, HP could instructions be a bit more clear???!!!

Our final take, we're really happy but we would love to know some things instead of finding out after we buy the thing!

The extra sensor lead for the remote is only needed,

if you have plug in a external cable/freeview box,

but if you havent plug any external video source to the video input then you dont need to use the remote cable,
