u are so correct. Don was a fighter pilot and he absolutely was so proud of that. He spoke about it often. It also proves how intelligent a man he was. Don HO would have been successful in any career he chose. He just chose entertainment because he loved people. He was a great man. Not to mention he was voted as one of the top 50 coolest people ever.
Yes, and did u know......Don HO was actually voted as one of the top 50 "Coolest Guys Ever" in a national publication (cannot remember which one) several years back?
The best part of Don's cool is it came from a gentle place in his heart. He didn't have a "swagger" of cool, but more of a "gentle and kind" cool. In Hawaii, we call it aloha do da max.
I've watched it at least 10 or 15 times and I laugh every time. I even saw the skit live at least 200 times or more and it was always funny. That's why Don Ho was so great. He made everything fun and his timing was superb. Taimane was lucky to perform with him for 5 years (age 13 - 18).
Taimane is actually in Canada right now preparing for a show this weekend.
I just wanted to say mahalo to u for posting your comment.
Don Ho was such a special man and he was soooo nice to Taimane. He was like an uncle to her. She called him "Uncle Don".
They had a great chemistry on stage together and the skit in this video was done every show & every single night it was funny! I saw it hundreds of times & it got funnier each time. Great Memories!
Not only was Don Ho a great performer he also served his country as a fighter pilot which says even more about the man.

If u play golf try singing it when you take your swing. According to Don Ho himself, it helps golf swings 1000%.

Aloha,
Just saw there was a new video in my subscriptions and seeing Don Ho was a pleasure again.
ButTaimane's imitation changed this from a very good video to a great one!
Thanks to all of you for sharing this video with us: it brought a small tear and a great smile to our faces.
Which is how we all should be remembered....

Mahalo.
Don Ho and Taimane together produced an incredible amount of charisma one 1 stage.
Tai was very blessed to have such a great man enter her life for 5 years at the perfect show biz age (13 to 18 years old).
