Also Valdes would have given leadership to the defense since Puyol was out and been able to keep them calm and make them perform better. You can always see that when Puyol wasnt playing Valdes was shouting at his defense to stay alert and keep focused.
@Kevo193 i believe things could have been different if Puyol was playing but not Valdez. the header was from a really short distance and performed by cristiano, not just anyone. valdez is really good but i believe he wouldn't catch that, he also sometimes fail too. i respect pep's choice to put pinto as a golakeeper in that match, he was almost proven right. hope next year, the whole first squad is available and give a really good game.

@thiimi ronaldos goal against porto was good but also took ALOT of luck. Ronaldo shoots from that range all the time and has scored 1 from that range in 4 years or however long it is now. If messi picks it up from that range, he doesn't hoof and hope it, he'll either dribble closer to the goal and smash it in from 20 yards, or he'll make a nice pass, which is more effective as he isn't kicking the ball over the bar from stupid ranges all the time.

@thiimi Messi always tracks back and helps defend, I've seen him do it with my own eyes live in the flesh. He's complete because he's not just about scoring goals, not just because of solo goals. Ronaldo doesn't take games by the grip of the neck, he's a complete goal scorer, but not as much of a complete player as messi. Look at messis passing and creative side of his game. He's not just a scorer, he was even brilliant when he wasn't scoring 40 plus goals a season.

@Kevo193 i believe things could have been different if Puyol was playing but not Valdez. the header was from a really short distance and performed by cristiano, not just anyone. valdez is really good but i believe he wouldn't catch that, he also sometimes fail too. i respect pep's choice to put pinto as a golakeeper in that match, he was almost proven right. hope next year, the whole first squad is available and give a really good game.

@thiimi ronaldos goal against porto was good but also took ALOT of luck. Ronaldo shoots from that range all the time and has scored 1 from that range in 4 years or however long it is now. If messi picks it up from that range, he doesn't hoof and hope it, he'll either dribble closer to the goal and smash it in from 20 yards, or he'll make a nice pass, which is more effective as he isn't kicking the ball over the bar from stupid ranges all the time.

@d0do00 name me a solo goal were ronaldos beat 4/5/6 players and scored on his own? The majority of his goals are tap ins into open nets in general. He's a great fox in the box with the odd good free-kick and he's decent in the air, but apart from that Messi flaws him in everything else from balance to first touch, to dribbling, to passing, to finishing, to technique, to determination in big games, to work rate, to ability.....I'm not having this argument anyway as I don't really give a shit.

@d0do00 In Madrid CR plays as a 9. Dimaria and Ozil do all the work and CR just scores. In man U it was a different story. He played as a winger and THERE he did all the work. In Madrid he does nothing out of the ordinary. You belong to that 1% of irrational football fans that believe that CR is better than Messi. Ask any professional whose better and they will all, with the exception of Portuguese players, will tell you that Messi is better. Zidane, Pele, Maradona, Cruyff all disagree with you.
