I have no idea what might happen in such-and-such situation. I'm not a lawyer, but pre-nups, to me, would certainly seem more fair under circumstances where one partner has a large sum of money or property holdings.
I don't know how one could be manipulated into it, but why would that person be upset that they can't acquire up to 50% of someone's assets upon divorce when the person owned those things before the marriage?
