Its a shame British sitcoms went down the pooper, we havent had good ones like this since the 90's, not new ones anyway. The last really good new ones i can think of were Men Behaving Badly, One Foot In The Grave, and keeping up appearances. i suppose you could include as time goes by, and my family isnt bad, but i cant think of another good new one this millenium. The Beeb and other channels need to stop all the reality tv and talent show crap and invest more in good comedy again!!
@tfidean i think it's Susan Penhaligan. Haven't seen the shows she was in for over half my life, and my memory is going, but she looks like how I remember her. I don't think I even remember her being in this series. I watched her in another good comedy series. And she was in a few decent miniseries. Maybe in the odd brit movie, too. If it is her, of course.
This is really adorable. I've felt like this at parties! I didn't know who Michael Williams was until I heard the BBC radio productons of Sherlock Holmes. He was a fantastic Watson - so now I am out to see what else he was in. So thanks a lot!
this is the way I felt when I got kicked out of London Nov. 13, 1979 for working w/out a work permit. I was dating and I couldn't find a man to stand up for me.
The Williams' were so incredibly perfect for Bob Larbey's writing. A brilliant script, a most brilliant acting pair...and complete comic genius all around.
Thanks for uploading, great stuff never goes out of style!!
They were a married couple in real life and he died from cancer in the '80's or '90's. Does anyone know? Very funny actress and very talented. Love watching her in anything.
This first episode...just brilliant! Bob Larby is clever beyond words. The ultimate "humanist" writer of comedy (As Time Goes By still has people following it after all these years). Then of course there's nothing better than a Willams/Dench comedic pairing...just doesn't get any better! Rent this whole series, it is sooooo worth it. Just too good, and thanks for posting!
anyone know where to find bloopers of this show, i'd love to see some! :(

He didn't die '80s or '90s it on Jan 11, 2001. The Williams' were perfect for A Fine Romance.
