@jonnyboy5000 They're are not face strikes and does it matter? What if they become professional UFC fighters? And this one of the main forms for youth kids to get rid of anger.
yo i live in massachusetts and im about the same age and i was wondering if there are any upcoming competitions ( i do brazilian jiu jitsu and muay thai
I'm curious, what, if any are the striking restrictions and choke/lock restrictions with regarss to different age groups. Also, were those matches on a padded area? Some of the slams looked painful.
Thanks - we've got schools in Cincy and Dayton. Just give us a call at 937-236-6485 for more info. We'll be having a youth division at the Battle of Cincinnati June 2009.
The blonde kid who raised his hand at 1:44 is me from like 2 years ago! For those of you who are leavin comments about the safety and stuff ive been doin it for over 3 years now and am currently the leader of that fight team and i guarantee that it's perfectly safe.
this is cool but i think most of these kids need to take time learning some submission skills. coz this seems like theyre just out there throwing haymakers. probably let them wear headgear so they could really learn how to fight properly and allow them to stikewhile standing up but no head strikes on the ground. no ground and pound on the face area
stop being a pussy musical mike, if these kids really have a passion for the sport then they should be able to, their might be minor reprecussions but not too drastic, and thats not for certain. MMA is sweeping the world, get over it. Kids in thailand are champions before they are 15 and have been knocked out countless times. so this really isnt a big deal. but bad ass video for sure
I really don't know what I think of youth MMA. I love MMA. Its one of the few sports that I actually go out of my way to watch on TV. But, you also have to take into account that kids may not have the maturity to handle MMA. I am not knocking it. As I said, I really can't decide how I feel about this.
this is awsome you think this is bad the highest risk is maybe a few minor injuries your puting your child in more risk by leting them skateboard or ride a bike what about foot ball to???
Parent's sign release forms allowing their kids to participate. Kids should be able to defend themselves if needed. There are different rules for kids under 18. Why don't you educate yourself before being so judgmental? There are kids all over that participate in extreme sports. There is nothing wrong with wanting our youth to be confident as well as knowing how to defend oneself in a scary situation. Ignorance is bliss. Let the parent's worry about his or her own kids!!!
Put in jail? For teaching kids how to defend themselves in this violent world? For teaching them the discipline to know when to fight, rather than neglecting them and beating them yourself? Obviously you've never trained martial arts... I don't think the thousands of parents in the audience of this video would agree with you.
Wow this is some fucked up shit.....cant believe they allow this?

Why not run a bigger glove and allow head strikes? The Youth MMA league here allows it. Without that they dont learn to slip or take angles.

What's with the warning at the beginning? Might not be suitable for younger viewers? So you can participate but not watch?

In my opinion, give 'em special headgear and allow head shots. It'd be more realistic. What if they get in real fights?

This is one of the best things I have seen in the martial arts. EVER.
These kids are learning REAL self defense and unarmed combat skills. Big Kudos.
