  • definately the best sprinter in the world! RIP Foggy! we will never forget you!

  • RIP Lost in the Fog...

Also, RIP Middle Earth (seen from 2:06-2:26)

  • Song fits him very well!

  • Lost In The Fog was such a champion and is missed everyday, its a shame he was taken so soon by cancer just as Devil May Care was =[

  • What a horse Lost in the Fog was. He is missed.

  • oh how that pony could run.......I loved watching this pony destroy the competition. What a horse!!! Go get the candy

  • One of my most treasured letters I have ever received was from Harry Aleo after Lost in the Fog died. He was very much a gentleman. The words he wrote showed his love of the Fog. Thank you for this video.

    All Love

    Padme A'Tea

  • D= AWWPOOR HORSE

  • Foggy & Landaluce - RIP

  • what heppen with that horsie?!??

  • Unfortunately, he had cancer.

  • Harry Aleo died a little over a year ago. I hope he's with this horse he loved so dearly.

  • i loved lost in the fog

  • That's true, "Only the best die young"

    -

    Barbaro

    Ruffian

    Lost in the Fog

    Eight Belles

    George Washington

    and much more.

  • h runs in our jertjs fpr ever

    Ls

  • and in mine x

  • that pony must of given it his all when he raced. I love him so much. I'll miss him.

by the way.. was he bought at an auction then?

  • No. He didn't reach his reserve in the Ocala, Florida Breeders' Sale. He was sold privately to Harry Aleo for $140,000.

    -has remembered that-

x3 That's a bit sad. That means I have no life.

-sulks in corner- Ask me anything about Ruffian and I can tell you everything, right down to her barn name. D:

  • what was her barn name? =]

  • Sophie. (:

  • aww

  • barbaro was better than phar lap cos phar lap lost one race due to the weight barbaro dident

  • yeah phar lap didn't have all the currant day technology that barbaro had

  • Phar Lap was better than Barbaro. You can't mention weight because Barbaro never carried weight, Barbaro was never handicapped in the way horses of old were.

    Secretariat = legend.

    Phar Lap = great.

    Barbaro = good.

  • lost in the fog if a pony

  • Do one on Eight Bells, that would be awesome

  • your videos are great!!!! MAKE ONE ABOUT GO FOR WAND!!!! PLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSEEE!!!!!

  • what happened?

  • He had cancer.

  • no he dident

  • uh, yes he definitely did.

  • WE WILL MISS HIM RIP

  • how come foggy was soo not known??????it's sooo sad.

  • Because he was a sprinter. Had he won the BC Sprint he would've been Horse of the Year and people would've been scratching their heads and wondering who he was since he was never entered in any classics.

  • I't just so rude to say that no one care to someone

  • Thank You, you made me think of Foggy with a smile and not the thought of what might have been...

  • i LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS GREAT SONGS GREAT VIDEOS YOUR GREAT!

  • u no, lost in the fog is a little winner! i love him so much and he is my favourite race horse and i even made a vid bout him..=] but we r losing these race horses to soon ='[

  • the story about this horses life actually made me just want to cry since we had to put down our dog in June..she had just like the Fog, cancer a truly dreadful decise.

  • I suppose I should have added that I play all the instruments as well, through multi track recording. Only the drums are computer generated.

  • gorgeous horse, so sad he died:(

    georgia

  • Yes.

  • Best horse in a long, long time. Definately much, much better than most of the horses in the public eye, Barbaro included. He was just a calibre of horse we haven't seen in so long. The Fog most certainly won't be forgotten, especially not by me. Started watching him when he was a 2 year old and he was put to sleep on my birthday, worst birthday gift I ever got.. Fantastic, thanks for this. <3

  • Aah, clearly the Barbaro fans didn't like that one.. Ah well.

  • i love lost in the Fog he was a great thoroughbred race hotse

  • hay don't talk like that lost in the fog was like all the others and i love barbaro so don't likeme mad becase i can backtalk you

  • Very well done...

    RIP FOGGY

  • Are you going to or have you published/produced any of them? that would be cool to make a cd and sell them! They are great videoes! Good Job!

  • Do you write these songs yourself? they are great. my favorite is The one about ruffian. Thanx for the videos!

  • Yes I do, thanks! The oldest of all my 'horse' songs is the one about Dan Patch, which is already over 3 years old. When YouTube came into being, I had quite a few written, so I was able to post a flurry of them right off the bat. I have some new ones in various stages of completion that I'll be posting in the future.

  • Love your video show! very impressive. Amazing horse.

What program did you use to create your video show?

thanks for posting this, I enjoyed it very much.

I have race horses in Ca.

  • Are you the same person that sent me a similar question privately a short while ago? I was trying to answer that and then the message just vanished from my inbox and I couldn't get it back.

  • Yes that was me.

  • OK, I'll get back to you privately. I tried to answer your message last night, and in the middle of typing, the screen went blank and then it said 'message deleted.' I've never had that happen before. when I lost the message, I lost your member name as well.

  • Foggy was the best sprinter this nation had ever seen. wat a heart, raced four or five times with cancer, dang wat a horse, i loved him since his first start:) thanks for posting this.

  • He was an amazing horse.

I love your tributes, especially the ones for Ruffian, Barbaro and Poco Lena, you have some great talent over there. I hope to see new tribute from you soon :)

  • I've got a couple I'm currently writing/working on. I got sidetracked this spring building a two stall foaling barn. I plan to post a little short video about that shortly.

  • hey who are you working on? love your stuff, ive got a descendent of doc o lena and it was really cool to see real footage of her. And Ruffian, and of course barbaro, awsome stuff, thanks.

  • I believe he had several small tumors along his spine, but the largest was the size of a football, pressing up against his spleen.

  • wow u are brilliant, i loved ruffian too.

  • You're too kind. Sooner or later I'll have a new one done. I've got two Appaloosa mares due to foal any time soon, and it's kind of got me a bit distracted at the moment. :)

  • Ya did it again, Gerry, a very well-coordinated video with your great "horsey" voice and song. Your track videos and voice calls are always so much clearer than the others!

  • Thanks! I always try to find the best source material possible.

  • amazing. seriously, I LOVE the video tributes. there's way too many cruddy picture slideshow tributes, thanks for a great one! is the song by the same guy who did the ruffian song?

  • Thanks! Yep, that's me, one in the same. :) I'm currently working on one for Barbaro that I should have finished in a week or two. I started working on it the middle of January, and had to change a few things after his passing. Like this one, it will include video clips, race calls, etc.

  • Wow!this is an excellent video!!!!would love to see more of your work =D

  • Many thanks. It's nice to see the comments that were listed while I was cut off from the rest of the world. I live in Oklahoma, near Muskogee, and have been without power for the past 11 days thanks to the massive ice storm.

  • aw. I love his blaze. It's so cute, the way it goes down the side of his face.

  • I'm trying to type thru the tears... the ending is really nice, clever.

  • Many thanks! :)

  • Awesome video

  • Thanks! Hopefully I can make the next one just as exciting. Of the several I'm gather material on, I'm not sure which one will get done first.

  • AWESOME and BREATHTAKING

  • Many thanks! Currently gathering new material for my next one, just don't know which horse I'll get done next.

  • he did become the best sprinter in the world!!! remember him

  • Thank you! I picked up some research material on a couple of others, but probably won't get another one done until after the first of the year. This one was fun, and a bit challenging to put together, since the first two instrumental breaks are only 15 seconds long, so that didn't give me much time to insert something, and then sync it up.

  • You did it again!!! I love it!

  • I figured that I'd post the lyrics for everyone, since the audio track sounds a little 'soft' making the lyrics hard to understand from time to time.

  • last 2 verses:

The vets announced their findings, struck like bullets on all ears

Oh how that pony could run

A body full of cancer, he may not live the year

    Only the best die young

It happened in September, "The Fog" would pass away

Oh how that pony could run

For the ones who knew him, these words hold true today

    Only the best die young

  • 2nd 3 verses: Halfway through the season and still on the attack Oh how that pony ... Eight straigh wins and counting as he won the Carry Back Only the best ... In the spring that followed, "The Fog" had lost his form Oh how that pony ... Though no one knew for certain, it was clear something was wrong Only the best ... The first day of October, "The Fog" had won again Oh how that pony ... This time at Bay Meadows, a perfect ten for ten Only the best ...
  • Great song. I'll always remember his name. He was magnificent.

  • Many thanks!!! I finished writing the song 23 hours ago, and spent a good part of the day trying to sync up the video and race calls with the song. There's only 15 seconds of instrumental break those first two times to fit something in, so I had to pick and choose carefully, but it seems to have turned out fairly well.

  • First 3 verses: Born in sunny Florida and raced out in the bay Oh how that pony could run Won his first ten races easily goin' away Only the best die young No one knows the future of each horse that goes to sale Oh how that pony could run Just a few will race, and fewer still prevail Only the best die young The middle of November, Maiden Special Weights Oh how that pony could run He took his first of ten on the field at Golden Gate Only the best die young
