If you read the real story of Conan by, Robert E Howard, you might feel the same about the movies great departure from the original story. @Scalpking47 Might I also suggest that you read Robert E Howard,s, Bran Mac Morn, Solomon Kane, King Kull and the adventures of Dennis Dorgen. Howard claims that the men in these stories were ones that he used as temp lets for what would latter become his greatest creation, Conan. They do need to make a Howard based movie. I think that Conan, The Road of Kings, would be a good lead in for, Conan the usurper, at a latter date. I will check out that graphic novel too. Thanx.

Out of all the modern remakes of old movies, this is the only classic that I prefer than it's remake. Conan here displays a true barbarian and even the story is alot better ;)

Trevor Rabin did a good mixture of both orchestra and electric guitar, the music of Amargeddon for instance. But here the dry sound of the older orchestra recordings really fits to the movie very well. I got the feeling that due to better technologies in sounddesign and micing music is becoming wetter these days but "to wet" is not good for every movie. Mr Basil Poledouris did great job here ;)
I think we should not compare movies. They have more possibilities now due to new technologies but, the best technology doesn't help if creativity is not high enough. Some make good stuff but this doesn't mean that old stuff is boring. I do not wanna miss the orchestra sound in movies, I just love it. I don't always like that some composers use only rock songs with much electric guitar to make scenes appear fast, because the orchestra can do it much better, in my opinion gives everything energy

Conan is a pretty good movie but it's really strong like when he killed those people I kept biting my finger cuz if it was real life it would hurt, and suddenly the unexpected sex scene came on and I kept looking at the floor or I would lay my eyes an head on my dads shoulder. New Conan is the worst reboot ever, Arnold made the first one too epic... Fuck this happy faggot conan that jason mamon tried to act. Totally worthless, my wife kept elbowing me to stop me from falling asleep, the movie flashes back and forth between areas and expects us to follow a poorly written poorly acted movie. First 10 min was pretty cool (the part when hes a kid) The rest is gay frat joking faggot conan freeing slaves and being an overall pussy.
