  • @MegaEvilCrow

I love military surplus. Especially stuff from other countries.

  • Obama is scared of the Jews !!

  • You're correct, "Survival of the fittest" is erroneously attributed to Darwin.

Some of the old Dr Who is still quite good, but yeah, not all of it.

Tom Baker's stuff is good, for the most part, his final episode had a really convoluted plot, to the point where I don't know what it was about.

It's not really intellectual discussion I miss, but political.

There used to be some interesting discussions going on.

I guess life gets in the way eventually.

  • @bobomcgraw Many of the other political bloggers are MIA.

I've grown tired of arguing politics. My opposition is unable to argue logically and things go in circles.

With the election coming, maybe things will freshen up a bit.

  • @RoyalOrderoftheFez Have you tried arguing with creationists?

Those people could not construct a logical argument if they were handed the necessary pieces, in depth instructions and a debate expert to guide them.

I still kind of miss the debates, if only because you don't really know who you are until someone comes along to remind you of who you are not.

    If that makes sense.

  • @bobomcgraw

Creationists, yes and climate change deniers too. Not only do they fail to present a logical argument, they also dredge up "scientific facts" written by charlatans and cat stranglers Okay, maybe not cat stranglers.

When you present them with accepted science they dismiss it as being all part of some vast conspiracy.

As for the debates. you make perfect sense. One also learns to sharpen one's argument; that is if your opponent is worthy.

  • @citizenkong A good debate keeps you sharp.

A bad debate makes you thankful you are not an idiot.

Did you hear about the 'family protection' group that are claiming that gay couples routinely molest and abuse their children?

They are using 'evidence' that is not new, and, this is even worse, has been proven false several times before.

  • @bobomcgraw

I haven't heard of that group, but I'm not surprised.

Many say that gay men should not be allowed to be priests for the same reasons.

  • @RoyalOrderoftheFez I remember there was a bill or something presented to the supreme court, it to do with same sex marriage.

One of the judges presiding was gay so the 'family protection' groups expected him to recuse himself from the proceedings.

they argued that his sexual orientation biased him to favour same sex marriage, but what they failed to realise is that the extension of their logic is that the heterosexual judges should have recused them selves as they would be biased the other way.

  • There's an excellent graphic novel called "Ex Machina", Dave. You should check it out.

  • @TruthDevours

    I'll look into it. Thanks.

  • I liked the farming analogy. When you said "I'm trying to knock out a quick one" the mind boggled!

  • @gizzytiersen

    As in "rub one out"?

  • @RoyalOrderoftheFez To "rub one out" is to KIll isn't it? I was thinking A..... "J Arthur", A "Nat West Bank", I thought momentarily you were going to you know "flog the Bishop"..."polish the family jewels"

  • @gizzytiersen

True. "I'll rub you out.", means, I will kill you. I remember hearing that one in Warner Bro. cartoons from the forties.

Not too long ago I heard someone say he was going to "rub one out' meaning he was gonna "spank the monkey".

Speaking off the cuff sometimes results in an unfortunate choice of words.

  • One last thing I want to say is that I truly resent Obama for ruining the reputation that Al Capone worked so hard to build for my hometown.

Bye the way Big Al's Florida home, where he planed the St.Valentine's Day massacre, is still there on Palm Island...just another bit of useless information I thought to throw your way>:)

  • @mari66101

    I live for useless information.

  • @RoyalOrderoftheFez

Then when are we having another Fez Night??? I have a whole universe full of useless information to give you,:O)

  • @mari66101

I've got a lot of stuff I need to do. Hopefully I'll be able to at least post a short one.

  • dr who was pretty big in chicago, i remember when the guy in a max headrom mask jammed the signal and took over the broadcast, on wttw 11 , i think it was wacky john, iv just been watching the key to time, i love that stuff, sadly the doctor only wears a fez in a video clip with laurel and hardy in the current series buddy, tough luck for the ol rof, all right, carry on

  • @MONKSCASTLE Did Doctor Who have a green girlfriend and fuck shit different than his own species....he ain't no NIGGULA playa.....Nawmean?

  • I am a fan of the old Dr.Who, when Tom Baker had the role. Even though the sets were cheap and cheesy, it has its charm for me...also helped that Douglas Adams(of the Hitchhiker's Guide books) wrote some of the scripts for that series. As for politics is always the same dog and pony show, no matter who is in the White House.

  • @mari66101 The old Dr Who was kind of creepy.

It had proper horror elements, like helplessness and the unknown.

  • @mari66101

    I love Douglas Adams.

  • From the interwebs:

"A good head scratch will stimulate your brain. This is because the act of scratching stimulates blood flow to the area. Also related for the same reasons, scratch your temples and ears."
