It is hard to believe that Rio de Janeiro was chosen over Madrid. The infrastructure in Rio is lacking and won't be completed on time. But one thing is clear; corporate interest of multinational corporations are given more importance than the real quality of the games, satisfaction of visitors and comfort of athletes. By giving the games to Rio, multinational companies guaranteed growth in an emerging market, which will be left with an economic bubble once all the machinery is paid for.
