  • Noted no pop up maneuver, sea state 1, and condition 1 set.

Aside from this. very nice CIWIS.

  • last exocet was f ing close

  • @SamuelVanH

The last missile was not an exocet, not sure what it was actually.

Don't forget, goalkeeper is the very last defence action. Incomming missiles are usually destroyed with sea sparrow or gun.

But it was a close call ;)

  • @sgtmact:thanks for the info mate!

  • I think the Dutch developed it as far as I know.

  • @Markiatoo Developed by GE, a British guy and a Dutch company.

  • pretty awesome

  • Considering it puts out... what... 100 rounds a second easy... I'm surprised it took that long of a burst to take em down.

  • Mind you, this is the gun designed to destroy tanks!

  • yeap its on the A 10

  • no its not on the A 10 its special designed for war ships

and this is a Dutch weapon and its not in use by the USA

  • i mean the gun itself is a GAU 8 Avenger designed for the A-10 for tank busting duty heck the plane was designed for the gun.

But the Dutch made a CIWS using the GAU 8

And as i said its on the A-10 so it is in use...just in another role completely and for a CIWS the US uses the phalanx instead and thats based on the M61 Vulcan just do some reaserch

  • @koentjuhh2 u need to search the web b4 posting b4 u bury yourself in your own hole...

  • Holy crap, wouldn't want to be on the business end of that thing !!!!
