What I've noticed about these "Pole Tests" is that some of the cars tested don't hit the pole in the exact same spot; some hit the coner of the pillar & some hit in the door pane: this makes it appear that other cars are safer than they truly are.

they are ASSEMBLED in mexico, but german made parts, dont get it twisted

Wow .. I thought these were made in Germany ? They even said the new Passat will be made in America ... I don't like that .. :( .. I want Volkswagen to stay German made .. ( It makes their safety better ) ....

@USFCARTWRIGHT its german designed and built to german specs (mostly by robots)... so dont give me that 'ohh its built in mexico must be crap' bs ... its the same story with your computer. both apple and acer are built in china but are complete opposites in terms of quality.

@stevecoster007 I never said 'ohh its built in mexico must be crap' so stop putting words in my mouth, and learn to not be so quick to judge, I was asking a simple question. Also, my old girlfriend had a 99 Jetta and it was the biggest POS ever... The damn interior fell apart after owning it for 2 months, most definitely poor build quality. My German-built BMW motorcycle on the other hand has incredible build quality. oh and I built my computer myself, using American made parts.

@USFCARTWRIGHT unlikely you built it with american parts fyi... i would be willing to bet that 90% of it came from asia (case, harddrive, cables, ram, mobo...) other than the cpu, what else is manufactured in the us?

@USFCARTWRIGHT What point are you trying to make? Even if it's built in Mexico, aren't the specs based on German engineering? Also, the BMW X3's are now built in South Carolina, with I'm sure, German specs. Lastly, my brother still has his old school jetta, the really boxy one's from the early 90's, and its still running strong. Maybe your old girl got a lemon.
