  • Drowning? I always thought "burning". That kinda changes it, doesn't it.

  • @Brennansdad London burns in another Clash song aptly named London's Bur.....ah nevermind you knew that.

  • Great rendition! Who is the drummer?

  • @712aimee Pete Thomas

  • I know Christopher wanted to persue his directorial asperations, but wait till Tony finds out Sylvio is moonlighting with Bruce , someone is gettin whacked........

  • Haha you can see Tony Bennet at the end wondering what the fuck's going on lol

  • This is honestly one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

  • Oh My God this is the most epic thing I think I've ever seen!

  • This is the greatest song ever written about London.

  • I imagine that this must have been so cool for the performers to play with their peers!Very Awesome to see them all together

  • I fucking love you Elvis Costello...

  • man this awesome- bruce and little stevie? clash fans! hoorah!(even though i never say that) peace!

  • Who's the idiot on the left? Tony Marschall?

  • @TomPrayne Do you live under a rock, douchebag? That's Steven VanZandt, long time guitar player for The E Street band, and a cast member on The Sopranos. So, how 'bout you shut your mouth, and stop being an ignorant pig-fucker, OK?

  • ディス イズ ザ グレート セッション。目が潰れそうです。

  • I hear you Classicvibe. Unfortunately, here stateside we were getting overdoses of Michael Jackson during this period and the Clash was relegated to 0 radio play, thus not getting the attention they deserved. Hopefully, performances like this will chase people to ITunes to check out the real thing. I thinnk that is what the Boss wanted when Joe passed prior to the induction.

  • One of the best albums ever made.

  • The tribute at this show did more to bring attention to the Clash's music than anything before or since. I think that exactly what Bruce & Elvis had in mind when they perfomred it.

  • @Sovereen You are just a young buckee...for many, The Clash was everything, and in 1985, this band was at the top of the world. They did this performance because Joe died in 2003, and he is among those amazing artist that meant more than the establishment had to offer. Respected by all, a powerful influence in a world of imitation. Music and art and culture and a leader...we are all better having Joe in our lives. This performance was just a reminder...a tribute.

  • "If Bruce is the boss, I fucking quit!"

    -Dave Grohl

  • you spelled springsteen wrong in the title

  • Is that Dave Grohl too?

Excuse me while I make sure I'm still alive and the universe didn't explode with awesomeness when I wasn't looking

  • Amazing tribute,

  • Zerpe, Zieden und Landon!! Varför gör dom det här igen, gubbjävlarna. Var vi inte klara med det här, då? Shit, vad dom sabbar asså.

  • One of the Grammy Award's best performances ever!

  • When the screeching at about 2:00 kicked in, there was a crack of thunder outside my window. TL;DR: most perfect moment ever.

  • What a fucking racket. Glad Tony Bennett enjoyed it though. Looking forward to his cover......

  • I love you Costello.

    R.i.p Joe Strummer

  • rip joe

  • Man, you gotta' give Little Steven and Dave Grohl some love here.

  • Grohl has always brought his A game when the rubber meets the road. Check out his performance with Tom Petty and the HeartBreakers on SNL....amazing!

  • Bruce "SprigSteen"? Please correct the typo Its

     Springsteen.

  • that was so awesome!

  • Absolutely fantastic! I remember this well. Springsteen said he was a big fan of The Clash. Too bad the Grammy voters had to spoil the party by awarding album of the year to Norah Jones instead of the Boss. The Rising was easily the best album of the year.

  • When I saw this I was immediately skeptical. The Clash is one of my favorite bands and London calling is one of their best songs. Springsteen and Costello would just be screwing with an original. But I have to admit, this was great!

  • Who is Bruce "Sprigsteen"?

  • shame dave grohl is up there

    other than that its good

  • Really? Dave Grohl is cool. And he holds his own with Bruce and Declan. And he's got a stronger voice than Miami Steve. I think this is a fine tribute, top to bottom.

  • And yeah Grohl is awesome, can't wait to see TCV this year!

  • That ladies and gentlemen, is rockstar!

  • I don't think the Clash (paul, mick, and topper) are actually there. Is that the drummer and bassist from No Doubt in the back, though?

  • that was something else. loved it.

  • Thank you guys. Appreciate it for the only band that realy matters. Joe R.I.P. and I know you would always have one more song on your heart.

  • Well post-punk, called New Wave for a while.

  • Err, Elvis was 24 and playing punk bands.

  • jerks???

  • good time traveler, bruce and elvis were contempories of the clash. elvis had his first two albums out. bruce had 4 out by then including born to run. where were you????

  • Holy crap!!!! This is amazing best combination ever!!! Elvis Costello and The Clash!!! yay!!!

  • where the hell is mick jones

  • RIP- Joe Strummer!!!

  • Can't believe the guy from the Sopranos is sing the Clash. Life is surreal

  • are you retarded? miami steve is the lead guitarist in bruce springsteen's e street band. he only started acting later.

  • Oi fuckface I am not retarded I know he was in BS band the comment was that about how surreal it was knowing he is NOW a Soprano's actor and he is singing songs from myfave band. Get a grip you selt righteous prick.

  • My ears!!! ARGH i'm deaf.

  • One of the best live covers I hae ever seen.

  • who is the guy with the guitar and hairband?

  • Steven Van Zandt, long time guitar player in Springsteen bands.

  • thanks!:)

  • OOO! Tony Kanal on bass!

  • Pete Thomas is a HERO!!!

  • ok ..... how did this not get a standing ovation?

The Clash were so instrumental in the punk scene. I cannot understand how any fan of music could fail to see Joe's place in music history.

  • @itsjeff531 Some of us are young. And a lot of people are musically closed minded. I personally like the clash even though I am not raised on them

  • @itsjeff531 It did get a standing ovation. Look at 3:32 onwards and the majority of people are standing up. Also, couldn't agree with you more about Joe. What a legend that man was, there will never be anyone like him again. A voice of many generations!

  • Thanks for the video! Did you know that Squeeze, from the same genre of music, is going to be touring North America in the Summer of 2007 and the UK later in the year? Tickets for the North American dates are available on the Ticketmaster website.

  • how can you compare squeeze to the clash? two diff.genres, pop vs punk. the only similarity is the time period.
