The whole album is political and there's solid evidence of that in the vid, including quotes. Btw I had an email from Prodigy biographer Martin James last week complimenting this study. This is a symbol of the Masonic establishment in politics, police forces, courts, and throughout the military and intelligence agencies as well as in the corporate and financial world.

The British police also have this symbolism on their hats.

The video for Smack My Bitch Up was initially rejected by the band, according to director Jonas Akerlund. He made the video himself and sent it to the band, so they didn't have the creative input that you claim they make such a point of having. It was only after a few months that the band decided to use the video to start their live shows with. Jonas has spoken at length about it on the DVD of his work and on Channel 4's Mirrorball series.

@smallpbigandas Are you saying the band gave Akerlund free reign to create a video entirely conceived of his own design? I doubt it. Howlett has stated that he carefully monitors all creative output, including videos. At the very least Akerlund would have had some basic instructions on what kind of content was wanted. The band rejected the first Firestarter vid because it didn't fit with what they were about. The opposite has to be said for SMBU. Howlett approved of its message.

Their Law is not really a Prodigy track, it was a competitive collaboration with PWEI where the first group to complete their version of the track got to put it on their album. Both bands currently perform live versions, though the PWEI one initially had more vocals that Liam didn't use on his version. The guitar riff was written by Graham Crabb and performed by PWEI.

@Andybaby I can understand it appearing that way being that I only post vids about art that is complex and subtle. All art has double meanings of some sort, but most of it is very simplistic. As for Freud, I'm yet to find a dictionary definition that describes a cigar as "just a cigar". It's funny that people still quote Freud on that one when it was he who saw breasts, vaginas and penis's in everything :)

@robag88 If you think Watchmen is a superhero film then you're missing the point. It is based on a deconstruction of superheroes, looking at the psyche of such a person. You really ought to read the graphic novel, it is more about the interpersonal relationships of such dysfunctional characters than it is about any form of heroics. Alan Moore used a comic to do to comics what you enjoy doing to films.
