    best comment ever.

  • It's called diamond :D

  • @KOOLANCE720 No.

  • lol!! thats kinda to easy. just use a glass cutter and u done

  • Thank-you for a very clean, crisp, smooth, and well executed, score.

  • ohhh lets get a cutter and say we cut it with our hands :P

  • i have made stained glass windows before. never had a teacher and did it this way from the start. as long as the glass aint cracked and you make a good score anyone can break it by hand no sweat.

  • haha

  • so is this the kind of thing that in spy movies the spy usually cuts a circle into the glass with?

  • Yes! Don't forget to bring a strong suction cup for your next heist. You need it to pull the circle. Good luck to you fleeing the long arm of justice.

  • lmao- ill try to remember that ;)

  • @appstatefanRS in the movies they use a circle cutter tool so it looks good

doesnt matter though because you will never get the glass circle out with out breaking it as it is very tight inside the panel it never just pops out like in the movie i might have to do some movies one day of things like this

  • @doubleunderscored Actually there are a couple of movies that show this. One is a comedy if i can remember. As the guy cuts the hole he tried to pull the circle out, found out he couldn't then had to tap the glass all around to wedge it out, he lost his balanced then tired to continue to tap and broke the whole window.

  • Now do it without the cutter :P

  • i just bought a cutter today, and ive noticed its got a ball on the end, and a few notches in the side of it.. what are they all for?

  • ball for tapping, notches for sharp glass pieces to carry

  • @ryanmail2004 the ball is for taping the cut to start it running

the notches you will notice are three different sizes these are to use tas a lever to break thin peices of glass when levering it off

  • thats not cutting it with ur hand. thats cutting it then pulling it appart with ur hand. wow my spelling sucks tonight

  • Re: ultimateownage2:

The video is called "How to cut glass - break by hand". The glass was finally broken using hands to pull it apart- No one said cut *with* hand.

  • He has changed the title.

  • Ah, sorry about that

  • I have NOT changed the title since the video was uploaded.

  • i can see your face on the bench:)

  • I can run, but I can't hide!!!

  • this is a very basic way to break glass and please use gloves when doing this because i have seen so many people pull one hand quicker than the other and take out some knuckles i dont mean to crack down on your technique but just from my experience

    sorry

  • There is no need for gloves. I have never cut myself cutting glass. Handling sheets of glass is another matter; there, gloves are useful.

  • I would never encourage beginners to handle glass without gloves. I haven't worked much with glass cutters(frankly, I suck at it) but why risk a damaging cut to your finger? I always end up with tiny slivers when I break my glass(like I said, I'm not very good at it), these can be painful if they get in you - and can turn someone off from future glass cutting.

  • Perhaps the problem is that you have not been taught how to hold the glass safely while breaking. Most teachers don't, unfortunately.

  • @hunthicks Agreeing with StellaCalliope. A lot of it is about knowing how to handle the glass. Larger pieces, I'll tend to flip the score mark down, rest one edge on the table before pushing it down with my hand (I don't really recommend that method, but it works for me). Small pieces, I don't bother with pliers at all. It's the strange shaped middle-sized pieces that I'll use pliers for. Also, if you learn to make a good cut, it shouldn't matter *too* much on how the pieces are separated.

  • make it look easy, why don't ya! :) I'm cutting glass for the first time this afternoon, so seeing this short 0:07 clip was a big help, thanks.

  • was that sarcasm or.??

  • What does the oil do? Is it applied to the intended glass cut before the score, or just a lubricant for the carbide wheel?

  • It's a lubricant for the wheel and its point of contact with the glass. The oil is in the cutter itself and requires no pre-application.

  • That's a carbide wheel oil glass cutter, pencil grip.

  • what did u use to cut it?
