There are 2 versions of this song....one is this crazily distorted one that was released on the album. They also have a perfectly clean version that was (I believe) available for download on their site at one point. This is just producer Dave Friedmann going ballistic w/ all of his studio toys. He usually applies this clipping/compression/distortio­n to drum sounds (Flaming Lips albums).

The original is actually quite scratchy, so you can't really avoid the clipping. I read it was intended for vinyl, but i don't understand the reasoning.

First time I heard this song I wanted to kick my CD player in. Couldn't imagine it any other way now - it's my joint fav (=Emily Jean Stock). The lo-fi visuals are a nice match.

This is the second time I've passed through this video. Both times I have stopped surfing and watched the entire thing. I'm an animation student and I have to say - you kick my ass. I can't get a whole piece done, so I applaud you. The rough rudimentary style fits the distorted track so well. The abstract plot is pretty sharp as well. Bravo!

Hmm...no this not the quality that my Some Loud Thunder has. There are some songs on the album where it has been "messed with" but not in this way, more like cracks, pops and skips. They are easily identifiable. In fact, My version of this song sounds completely different. Interesting...
