ive had some wierd times,it took me a couple of dry digs to figure out to take off my wedding band, checking clumps with nothimg there...she laughed at me,now she holds on to it while i hunt.i live in arkansas, found a 1938 australian penny...go figure...
Wow. I like to think about how things like that dime got lost in the first place. From the wear on it wasn't new when it was lost, so thinking '20s, '30s, perhaps even Great Depression era. Some kid might've lost that dime in those woods; can you imagine the personal tragedy that must've been? It's more than money; every coin found has a story behind it.
Well done on the video. Couple of helpful tips, pinpointer, knee pads, and careful what angle you stick you digger in the ground at. I've scarred soe nice coins before I figured that one out. Keep at it!
Hi Johnny, thanks and yes your right, i have wrecked a few nice silver coins before not going in on the right angle. Thanks for the tips . Have a good one !!
@SuperJetski1 When digging a plug, you shouldnt dig into the ground at too much of a "v" shape because your risking hitting the target with your shovel.
You should try to dig down as straight as you can get away with when digging a plug. That way, if you'r off on the pinpointing, you lessen the chance of hitting the target.
Great video Dave! I ended up watching this browsing utube vids and not on the forum. Nice barber, I wish we could find something like this every time hunting but that's the way it goes!
Just got my first Barber today, jabbed the crap out of it. Oh well.
