  • Im guessing though it's called Form Constant, the dancer isn't on peyote :P

  • i <3 dance

  • frost and y'all should share a contract and make money on us googley eyed marvels... first UIUC, next Microsoft.... don't settle for less than 5 mil! but really, no really!

  • Great Job! :)

  • That was just amazing! I'm so happy I got to see it in real!

  • Reddit is the shit and I mean that litterally.

  • awesome! really nice work guys!

  • man, this is so awesome you guys. wish I could have seen it live!

  • very nice

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • truly beautiful choreography and graphics, i dont like the music that much though.

  • Awesome integration with the projected visuals

  • I like the style you have going on in the background. I think giving it a try with "Liquid Pop" and maybe some dubstep in the background would really set it off. JMO

  • fuckin AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song is tripping me out....

  • Amazing, wonderful. I study and teach rivers and fluid mechanics (and do visualizations, see my channel here)--I'd love to know more about how you did this, how you got the beautiful responses to your dancing.

  • This is striking and beautiful.

  • My dear Hope, you are a rockstar.

  • i bet that would be the dopest thing ever on dope

  • really cool music

  • @ronroniematt23 you seem like the least hilarious person in the universe.

  • Very cool. Can I purchase this setup or software?

  • i want to watch this on shrooms

  • Processing? OpenFrameworks?

  • very cool tech! it feels like the dancer is constrained to the ground, putting her weight only on her feet. she should flow with less weight, feeling light, matching the visualization.

  • @abramjessiah I thought the weight was part of what added to the appeal. The entire dance had this sort of struggle and constrained feeling, which seemed to be the point. The effect was enhanced by the chaos and fluidity of the visualization.

  • the dancing and effects are amazing but the music is among the worst I've ever heard... and I've heard Philip Glass performed.

  • Sure it has something similar (fluid dynamics , meh), but was very inspiring and awesome. Nice work.

Ps: you used his fluid dynamics library? It's awesome, but it's not CUDA.

  • @frangossauro freaking youtube ate my comment. I was commenting how similar it is to memo atkin body-paint work.

  • prrr

  • ok in terms of creativity, but the unique thing about dance is its 3 dimensionality, this webcam trick subsumes the dancer into the 2d world of computer screen. Instead of reducing the dancer into a screensaver graphics, the same technology could be used to enrich the flow of movement in 3D. Maybe as simple as adding a second and a third projector might do that trick. I am looking forward to the next iterations.

  • Fluid dynamics was a very nice touch and made for an interesting body extension-like effect. Thanks for sharing it.

  • absolutely incredible. great vision

  • Wow, amazing.

  • @LogInAnders fuck off troll

  • @LogInAnders

    BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

  • I hope to see you do more work of this sort :)

Suggestion, more colors please, and or a finer granularity of particles :)

  • Ah yeah, I thought about doing something like that once too, looks quite interesting. But I prefer analytic music visualizations overall.

  • She should be wearing all black when doing this to maximize the effect of the two figures moving in tandem.

  • Nice work! What's the song?

  • @funkyphreakout Thank you! The song is Híbakúsja by Ben Frost. I layered the beginning part of it with another song of his, though.

  • this would be way more powerful if you could not see the shadow+silhouette on the screen.

  • Incredible! Wow!

  • amazing. both of you.
