I miss the conscience and ambition for a better future that I saw as a kid back in the 90s.
There's still a spark of it where I've moved to (just relocated to the Portland area in June), but it seems to have settled in isolated pockets. I feel all she seems to do in her speech is bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch but she never really gives any good solution. I'm sorry to say, but for a child almost everything is 2D and the world isn't really like that. There's so much grey areas that we can't do much of anything to solve problems right now, and I have to say, she was VERY arrogant in saying, "Did you have to worry of these things when you were MY age???"

I miss the conscience and ambition for a better future that I saw as a kid back in the 90s.
There's still a spark of it where I've moved to (just relocated to the Portland area in June), but it seems to have settled in isolated pockets. Back then it seems people everywhere were more willing to talk about things like ecology and social problems. Nowadays it seems people prefer to either pretend nothing's wrong, or make cynical remarks about how nobody cares and nothing gets done.
