  • Poor pups are clearly still hungry, here let me scratch this plastic barrel to make it soft since I'm not allowed to have any Earth or grass...or natural environment whatsoever.....

  • Just like a fucking dog.

  • they started off with wild foxes and selective bread them for 10 years and this seams like a good research topic

  • brb moving to russia

  • now they need to get these delightful domesticated foxes to north america/Europe. then we all can have a foxy friend.

  • It's amazing how calm and laid-back domestic foxes are compared to wild foxes.

  • I wonder what happens if you take one of these foxes to the Dog park.

  • y u make no more videos

  • I sure hope these animals get to play in the dirt. You can see he wants to dig for his home. Wild animals should stay wild. They are so beautiful.

  • @LanaV6 They're not wild, read the description, it was a project lead by a geneticist who was able to domesticate foxes through reproduction control, he recreated the conditions that lead our ancestors to domesticate wolves. That's why they're fur colors are all fucked up and not really fox-like.

  • @LanaV6 dogs were once wild. they are wolves. same species. we just bred them to be suited to living with us. a dog is NOT happy in the wild. someone has done the same thing with foxes.

  • dawwwwwww

  • in mother russia foxxes own you.

  • So what are these foxes good for? I hope you don't have them just to keep them locked. Can they walk on a leash, obey, apport stuff? Can they catch mice? (they should) How do they behave on dog training grounds with obstacle course? What about the potential of training one for physiotherapy or assistant for the blind?

  • @MiracleWitness uh...companionship? do you really need a reason?

  • They're beautiful! You are very lucky. I wish I could love on one in person!

  • ENTENSITY!!!!

  • hoshiiii~

  • @jd3092003

it's a freggin wild animal dude. gj on the peeps who raised em.

  • Comment removed

  • @hakavon yeah... domesticated foxes arent foxes... you sure as shit cleared that up for me chum!

  • awwww

  • so wuts da big deal? its like a small to medium size dog...

  • If you want a close match, get a Shiba Inu. The most cat like of the widely available dog breeds.

  • awww so cute <3 where did you get a fox from? ... probably not legal in California -___- nothing legal here

  • @smydugan Marijuana is...

  • @IIICASEIII im talking animal wise

  • I think your current set up is just fine and what you are doing is awesome! Most of the people I know with dogs leave them locked up in a small crate 9 or 10 hours a day and then wonder why they are crazy. Or they tie them up to a line and never interact with them. You have two beautiful pets and you obviously take good care of them and they love you.

  • Evan tho i want one of these foxes i cant help being sad for them there wild animals they should be in the wild not caged up for fun.

  • @zabeer8 These are no longer wild animals. They have been breeding these foxes for over fifty years in order to domesticate them. There is no difference between them and cats or dogs - except the price is so high hopefully it will keep anyone who would hurt them from ever owning them. They are way better off than any cat or dog right now. The only difference is people like to be haters on anything and everything...not that you're a hater I'm just saying in general.

  • hey just wondering if you let them roam free/on-leash in near-by forests at all. just wondering not criticizing!

  • Awwwwwww. I love them.

  • 3:42 FALCON KICKKKKK

  • it's so fluffy i'm gonna dieee!!!!!! = D

  • Oh my, I would so love to have one of these darling foxes!!!! ....writes letter to Santa

  • Who else literally went "Awwwwwww" when they were watching this? I know I did.

  • I just noticed their behavioral attitude, it's very, very similar to a ferret! Anybody notice that either?

  • THEY SOUND SO CUTE. OMG. I. WANT. ONE. T__T

  • Beautiful coloring. My goodness, the variation you can get by generations of domestication. Heard they're also smart as a whip. Very trainable.

  • they dont bark!!!! woop

  • Skeleton KEY!!

  • And it will be cost only 1k dollars.

  • You can buy foxes from breeder in Russia Nowosibirsk. But be afraid of bears with balalaika and babushkas in paws!

  • it would be awesome to have a pet fox... wonder where you get one...

  • do they smell? I heard foxes have a musk.

  • Can these foxes interbreed with dogs?

  • @truckcompany

    why would you do that?

do you know how hard it is to get a pure blood?

  • @y512516

    A pure blood what?

  • @truckcompany

a fox with good coloring and genes that makes it docile enough for domestication

who knows what will happen when you mix two of them together

  • I think this experiment not only shed some incredible new light on what we know about the domestication of wild animals, but it produced a beautiful new pet species as well. However, we all know what has happened (and continues to happen) to so many dogs and cats who are in the hands of unfit owners -- they are abused, neglected or abandoned. As much as I want one of these amazing pets, I don't think they should be made available to the general public any time soon (which, alas, includes me...)

  • @notquiteginga they are already available and you can have one for 6 thousand dollars. Im pretty sure if you can spend that much your gonna value it and take care of it

  • @3v3ryus3rnam3istak3n Oh. Well $6000 is a pretty committing price to pay, but surely they'll just get cheaper and cheaper? Like, people's pet foxes will start havin' babies and then they'll have to try and get rid of those. But, meh, I dunno.

  • @3v3ryus3rnam3istak3n

6,000 dollars? Are you about 2k off. You can get one for 4,000, although the price may very.

  • @clovera Maybe those narrow minded pet laws are for the best? While it means you and I can't own one, it also means the 'idiot brigade' can't, either! BTW, I own/rescue Basenjis which are considered semi-domestic dogs. If you have the right set up (a securely fenced property, no kids under 8, a responsible pet owner mindset) you'd probably find one of them plenty wild, particularly the Avongara's.

  • Meanwhile in America... "YOU CANT OWN THAT FOX" ;'(

  • @Darkpspartan Only in some places.

  • @Darkpspartan I can and i WILL >:]

  • $7,000, holy shit

  • Are these foxes from the Belayev Experiment? They're incredible animals. Your facility for them is outstanding. Lovely to see how well you take care of them.

  • @DieFlammenwerfer Sibfox is directly associated with the Institution of Cytology and Genetics so the answer will be yes! I'm really amazed by the sheer variety of coat and pattern colors that emerged as a side-result from the behavioral selection.

It's too bad I'll never own or see one in person, as California here has one of the most narrow-minded pet laws on the planet. Even hedgehogs and gerbils are banned for crying out loud. Sigh.

  • @clovera

You have to have a permit to own any animal classified as "Dangerous" in Texas. Foxes aren't classified as dangerous so no permit is required, same thing for wolves. Maybe you should move to Texas. :)

  • i would take an arrow to the knee for one of these guys

  • @SirKravchak i put arow in their knee

  • A Checklist for buying pets(My answers are past the ,) Do i need one, Nope Do i want one, Yup Do i have the money, Probably Are they legal, Not likely in my country Would it have downsides, Most likely Are they compatible with other domestic pets, Perhaps Would it harm Young kids, Not likely Will you be able to supply it with food, Yes Would you have a space to keep them, Nope Finally! Will they be friendly to you, Depending on how they were treated
  • I want one soooo bad, but they are so expensive. did you get yours thru sibfox?

  • Holy fuck. Pet fox:Dream pet, behind baby dolphin and wolves.

  • Do they smell bad like wild foxes? Also, do they need to go for walks like dogs or do they want to roam around like cats?

  • Alright, that's it. I want a pet fox.

  • They are beautiful!!!

  • I've heard about these pet foxes from Russia so cool! I want one!

  • I would totally get a loan just to own one of these foxes

  • I love this foxes, they are just so cute!

Did you keep them since they were pups? They are so cuddly :-)

  • I want one!!!!

  • @asyrafsani These foxes don't have a "habitat" any more than a golden retriever does. They are domesticated after something like fifty generations of selective breeding. It is in their nature now to depend on humans and live as housepets, unlike wild foxes which would probably not enjoy camping out in a blue barrel.

  • @emussmellfear You are so right about that if you put them in the wild they couldn't survive and PETA are a pack of idiots! They have been domesticate just like a dog or cat. I mean they wag their tails and pant just like a dog but with softer fur and they don't bark! If I had a lot of money to throw around I'd get me one these precious babies! BTW there are many wild foxes that are having a hard time finding food cause of over pop.

  • Its like having a cat and dog at the same time.

  • @carllito12 I thought the same thing!!! I want one so bad. I'm allergic to cat's but I like 'em. so, nuff said.

  • @carllito12 Shiba Inu's are similar in that respect

  • Nobody get all peta and complain that these animals should not be kept as pets. These foxes have been domesticated for hundreds of years and are no longer wild, so get over it.

  • @carllito12 Actually it only took fifty years; which is what's so amazing about this experiment, it raises the question if the wolf didn't take as long to domesticate as we had originally thought.

  • @YNot1989 O RLY? I saw a documentary about it a while back and i thought i remembered that this started in the 1800s, but i guess i just remembered wrong. Thanks for correcting my mistake.

  • Do you ever play with them? Some rough and tumble? Fetch?

  • so FLUFFY

  • It's sad that so many people still think they are wild. Don't doubt science. It can do amazing things. If I decide to live in an area where they are legal, I might get one.

  • Such an awesome experiment that produced these animals. Really, it's not surprising that domestication can be so very sped up. After all, canine domestication probably wasn't entirely intentional--probably not at all, in the beginning.

  • oh god they are so beautiful<3 I want one so bad...I better start saving up.

  • good god they are adorable

  • i want one!

  • It's so cool how even their coat colors/patterns have changed :)

  • @LexyRexy34157618 That's from breeding silver and red foxes together, not the domestication.

  • I want one

  • Can they be trained like dogs?

  • @Daghead yes... they are trained to go in a litter box though, like cats.

  • its crazy that overtime even their physical characteristics changed... scieennceee!

  • Daaaaaawwww, hope they become a real market someday. I'd buy one.

  • Read about this in National Geographic. Very interesting and cute! :DD

  • omg soooo cute!!! this video has made me want to get a fox lol

  • Am getting A Fox. i can afford one and i did lots of reserch on how to care

  • I am SO jealous.

I would do ANYTHING to keep domesticated foxes (I would NEVER take a wild one, that's not fair for the animal) but it's not allowed to keep a fox where I live..even if they are domesticated.

And no, I'm not a little girl who thinks" WOAH THEY ARE SO CUTE I WANT ONE!!1!!" I love foxes since years, they are beautiful animals and I know really much about how you should treat them, how much space they need, etc.

@KingTossie Give your foxes a big hug from a huge fan ;) <3

  • WARNING

    CUTENESS OVERLOAD

    MELTDOWN IMMINENT

  • I die for foxes O_o

  • More.Videos.NOW

  • awwwwww i want one....id have to sell my fox coats though cuz id feel like an ass

  • They're beautiful :)

  • i REALLY want a pet fox but i found out the cost like 6,950 dollars

  • thank you russia! XD

  • at part 1:54 i noticed the fox is trying to dig in the barrel. i guess habits never die lol

  • prachtige beesten, die vossen!

  • gorgeous animals!!!

  • Dig that barrel.

  • question for you - why keep them outside? I read that the sibfox is easy to house train. Are they simply too active?

  • @mattyoungmattyoung

from my research they are climbers. And some foxes still have wild tendacies to dig and such.

and of corse some people have more room outside :)

but i am still doing my research on them before i buy them, as i want all the info i can get :)

so if any of this is wrong could the uploader send me some links for more detail (or please anyways lol :])

  • Well one of the only other good things to out of Soviet Russia other then Yakov Smirnoff ;D

  • Awww they were happy to see youuuu! That's so cute :3

  • @Gail419 do some research before you accuse someone like this .... they are as similar to wild foxes as a dog is to a wolf ...

  • @Gail419 WO WOWO. People are meant to be in the wild, since that is how we have been for most of our existence, right? We should take a hint from peta (killing animals), and kill every human that isnt running free, naked and in the forest.

Stop being a moron, and go eat your chicken nuggets and hamburgers you ignorant twat. these pets cost 6k, which means anyone who buys it will give it a better life than any of its relatives can expect in the wild.

  • @Gail419 Dude just shut up 4real why would he/she release DOMESTICATED foxes into the wild thts just dumb they'd die thats just like letting your domesticated dog to fend for itself.

  • @Gail419 ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • @Gail419 so where do you think that a domesticated dog came from? Someone one day had to think that hey that wolf looks like a great i want it. Now centeries later we have a domesticated dog. Why is a dog ment to be a pet when it came from the wild and another species not ment to? Do animals come out with a domesticate me sticker on them? Do some reasearch before you start saying things.

Also sorry if my english is bad it is a second language.

  • @Gail419 housecats and housedogs started out wild. should they be realeased back into the wild? you can domesticate any animal. as long as they are treated right and with love there is no harm in it.

  • @Gail419 besides, once an animal has been domeasticated, they can't really survive in the wild. and these foxes didnt seem to hate anything.

  • @Gail419 Okay, if my entire life was devoted to being there for someone, and that someone took care of me, didn't give a shit what I did to an extent, and gave me everything I would ever need. Yes, I could live in a kennel my whole life and not a fuck would be given.

  • Foxes are my favorite animal. I want one so badly.

  • I hear they're smelly :(

  • Instead of fox of doing a barrel roll, he's rolling in a barrel!

    LOL

  • Hi! I have a question if you are willing to answer since I am looking into getting a domesticated fox within the next couple of years. I was wondering how big the enclosure you have built for them is?

  • What for you breed them ..for fur?

  • May I ask how much they cost you to buy? o:

    By the way, soooo cute!!

  • @DewDropBunny I went to Sibfox and the price is 6,950$ D:

  • Does anyone know how silver foxes smell? I may be getting one and I've read they have a strong smell on some websites, but others have said the smell has become very mild or non-existent with the many years of breeding.

  • furaffinity? OH GOD THOSE POOR ANIMALS!

  • Want one so bad. Thx for sharing! =D

  • awesooooooooooooooooome

  • @ookami16 - maybe in 60 years LOlz

  • OH MY GOD IF ONLY ALL DOGS MADE NOISES LIKE IT DOES AT 1:11 <3

  • IWANTONE.

  • very cute, although they are hybrids, not pure foxes...where do i get one?

  • @netmiztress Nope, they aren't hybrids.

  • are you in the united kingdom? can you take these foxes on walkies? do they howl or bark?, i want to know so much about them, please tell me what you know, thanks

  • 1:35 "OHHH NO PLEASE DONT FUCK ME AGAIN PLEASEE!!!"

    Furaffinity

  • They are so adorable :)

  • Sooooooooooooo cuteeeeeee :D I'd like to have one but

    a) I've got no money

    b) I've got no space, and I don't want them living in a small apartment =.=

  • They're absolutely beautiful :) Please make more videos of these precious foxes :D

  • Oh my god there so adorable! what are their names? :D they seem to really love you a lot which is a great thing!

  • daaaw

  • We should domesticate Coyotes next lol. We've already done it with Wolves now foxes next is Coyotes!

  • I like them very very much

I love foxes and know so much of them that i need to have one as a good friend in my life, but i'll have to wait for a good moment because there is a lot of work that has to be done before getting one

  • Your foxes have a really wonderful fur texture.

  • They are both so adorable! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • You should dispute the content misidentification.

  • i love foxes, and as long as they are safe and happy, then i am good :3

  • 3:18 I've heard the expression "So happy I could shit", but I never thought I'd see it!

  • Lol, they make Ron look like a crackhead xD

  • I love the sounds Dima is making! One of the many moments that had me laughing. I have no idea how I would spell that sound out in text. It's like a *whine*, but it's not whining.

  • Awesome, and Cute video :) What are the Names, Genders, and Age of the 2 foxes?

  • so so so nice! to watch it make me so happy!

  • now i want one so badly now

  • Aww, they are splendid :)

  • YAAAAAAAY!!!! I have been waiting so long to see homemade video from an owner/companion of the really tame Russian red foxes xD

I congratulate you on a very nice size outdoor pen, of excellent sturdy construction! I know myself all too well all the work that goes into building/designing one xD

Greetings from me, and my pet red fox Ron... currently the most viewed pet fox on youtube xD ^^

  • @JamiexLeex91 that is correct, i would never let mine out of the cage as they probally wont return, nor would they be able to survive that, but still for that 50/60 year of breeding they came a long way

  • hmmm, I like this, Science discovers how to increase the speed of domestication, and boom! Foxes as pets, whats next, Ducks that act like Dogs?

  • @Zeuqe400 Why do i get the feeling if i type "Duck that act like Dog" in the youtube search bar i will find it :P

  • @KingTossie you might just find some

  • @KingTossie

according to national geographic are categorised as "domesticated", for farming at least. i heard pet swans a make vicious "guarddog".

  • @Zeuqe400 Maybe the domestication of Coyotes too? Maybe? Who knows.

Life is just one big mystery.

  • @SakuranoIzzy well, I know how they did this, and it'd be easy to do with ducks, maybe even cheaper. simply sell the ducks that don't fit the breeding criteria and breed the ones that do, not to mention that ducks mature faster than foxes. in essence, thats actually what they're doing with the foxes, selling for funding for further generations, though since I can't afford one, I might make a dontation or something.

  • @Zeuqe400 im hoping they create humans that don't talk shit on youtube posts... oh wait...
