In the same way, there was no consensus among economist on gov't spending - there was a consensus among Keynesian economists whose side gov't has been supporting since 1930s as it justified its involvement in the economy on the first place.
when resources end up on the top 1% there's not much left for essential government services. what good is it to have the highest GDP in the globe, if the top 1% are the ones enjoying 95% of the return. "free-trade" will always be tilted. it's just a huge & complex ponzi scheme.

In fact, I forget who stated it, but it is said that Plato and Aristotle once had a huge argument in regards to truth and 'the good'. In that moment, they were actually the closest of friends because they were united in their love and pursuit of the truth, which is the ultimate priority in life.
Evolution as it is known was formed by Darwin, but has undergone changes. Also, the idea existed before Darwin. Schools focus on him because he helped shape the mentality that went on to dictate how modern society is run and, more importantly, how schools are run. For all his brilliance, Darwin was elitist and believed in the supremacy of the few while the polloi were kept below an intelligence level that would afford them independence from a system that supports and upholds those elite few.

The only reason why people group them with republicans is because they are both fiscally conservative. At a time when we have a president who is in favor of socialism, fiscal matters are a big topics. At the moment they agree on popular issues, but libertarians are FAR FAR LEFT when it comes to social issues. i.e.- drugs, abortion, gay marriage, etc..

I am an independent, but if I had to be lumped into any party it would be libertarian. While I like alot of the things Maher says, he is totally a liberal. I think Obama was better than McCain cause McCain was burned out but honestly, there were better choices - though we didn't get em.

my deep sympathies for the plane crash victims and families ut... man i was distraught by not beeing able to see bill on the replay. that's horrible about pop-culture. when ur more concerned about it than u should be...sad, but true

Yet Bill Maher thinks it was bright people that voted for Obama. You can't have it both ways Bill, either America's bright or wer'e idiots. Either bright Americans voted for Obama and believe in evolution or idiots voted for Obama and believe in a divine creator. Which one is it?

Agreed, you cannot have it both ways, but I have heard that this poll only asked about 1000 people.
I don't believe you can make such a broad statement after asking so few people.
Asking 1000 people in the North East compared to asking 1000 people in South will get you completely different results, I guarantee it.

The truth is: the TARP bailout paid back company equity reserves that were looted by their executive's compensation packages. Geithner should call-in all offshore accounts to get our money back.
