Should probably compare read performance, that's where SSDs actually shine. Guess the performance gain here is mostly because of the raid.

It does not say that the 5400 is raid 0, or any raid for that matter. you need to have two 5400 drives in raid 0 if comparing with two ssd drives in raid 0 else this is just some bias test.

I am planning to buy z series could you please tell if it is this true that (mentioned on forums)

1) it gets too hot (above 55 deg celcius)

2) its keyboard are sticky

ssd's are the future but still far too expensive to warrant the slight speed increase. for raid 0 you could easily pay 500.00 for 2 ssd's well you can buy a whole laptop or pc for that now days.

try it with a 7200 ide/sata or scsi hdd.

For laptop, they still use 5400rpm hard drives, becuase although 7200rpm is bit faster than 5400 rpm, however its hard drive life is shorter than 5400rpm. And comparing to ssd, 7200rpm is still way slower than ssd.

Solid State Drive.Youre allmost right. It uses different kind of FLASH but it works the same way.Except flash memory looses the capacity after files being replaced,modified often which in case of operating system would last you for a week. Mostly for a Month. When Windows 7 will be @ retail go with Kingston V series SSD.Its cheap, faster than HDD of course slower than regular EXPENSIVE SSDs but using 2SSDs in a Laptop is worthless. I might find the use in desktop though.Put 2HDDRAID0 vs 1SSD PLS

but i want to see 2 hard drive in raid 0 vs 2 ssd in raid 0. to see the real difference, because 1 hard drive vs 2 ssd raid 0 is an a obvious result.
