It's appropriate that one of my closest YouTube friends sent me here; a remake of this song (with cartoon characters) was used in the Elmo's World episode about friendship. :) Thanks, Garrett!
Rick Moranis > today's actors, because Rick was special, and today's movies are kind of heartless/soulless. At least when he retired for a good reason, he picked the right time to do so, because Big Bully was terrible. But I doubt that voicing an animated moose and doing a parody of a country album is a part of retirement. Semi-retirement would be a more fitting term. Anyway, this skit is SO CUTE~ One of the many things he's somehow good at.
@aks477578 Heres an idea... If you miss your childhood, take a night you have free to just do things you did when you were little. I do that and it makes me feel happy when I do. :)
@vampirealdys Yes, I guess maybe both Rick Moranis and Bert almost have the same singing voice which is why Rick Moranis is in this skit. (I'm not sure if that really is true or not if Rick Moranis's favorite food is oatmeal and he loves pigeons a lot just like Bert loves those two things too. If it is true, maybe that's the reason why Rick Moranis is in this skit with Bert).
I do hope and pray that Rick moranis does gb3! It would bring back memories as well as the orginal cast, and to see him reprising his own role again as Louis Tully!!!
Rick is such a sweetheart. I respect that he has retired, but there is a rumored possibility that he may reprise his original role in the Ghostbusters film for the third one, and I hope that he does. It's impossible to not love this man.
@pippigladstone He officially retired after finishing the Honey I Shrunk The Kids trilogy, to spend more time with his family(he's a single dad following his wife's death in the mid-90s). There's some talk that he's agreed to come back with the rest of the cast for Ghostbusters III, which I begging to be true. I miss him too!
@pippigladstone I started a Rick Moranis needs to Come out of Retirement Facebook group. he retired to take care of his children. They have to be grown by now
I always love it when a well known celebrity appears on a little kids show. It gives us adults something to look forward to when we watch with our kids.
Rick Moranis is definately well known in family-film such as Honey I shrunk THe Kids and his interaction with Bert didn't feel that awkward. Besides, we notice alot of people are shy about what we like and like me are often nervous about revealing it to others. That's the appeal that this gave and it good natured and likeable for 4.5 stars.
Where would Ernie if Rick moved in? And why does this look like the guy who played in Ghost busters luis telly and Seymore from Little shop of horrors?
Seems like Bert's face is in clay motion when he is not speaking, even though you her him talking but you don't see his mouth opening and closing. What do you think?
Hmm, I just noticed that they use the same voice for Bert as they do Fozzy Bear from the Muppets.Guess it shows just how long its been since I watched these.
I remember seeing this segment with Bert and Rick Moranis while flipping through channels back in the early 90s. I think this might have been a year or so after Disney's Honey I Shrunk the Kids came around.
Honestly, it's been years since I've seen this. I've always loved this skit & the message...gave me goosebumps just listening to the song....thanx a lot for the post. The message is in the music/video...STICK OUT YOUR HAND & SAY HELLO!!!
i saw parts of Ses. St 15 years ago. When i realized the show began in 1969 i started watching clips here on youtube. I must say after all the clips i have seen from kermit to cookie to grover and the blue guy, i cant think of anybody else that made tv better than the way frank oz and jim henson changed the face of children television. Im sure there isnt a person who watched the show that doesnt know their names. it can only imagine how sad a year it was when Jim passed away. Rest in peace Jim!
Does anyone have the other Sesame Street skit with Rick Moranis where he is playing the game "Pool" with Grover where Rick Moranis's name is "Minnesota Shorts" on that skit?
Yes, Rick Moranis was the one who played as Minnesota Shorts on that skit with Grover. That was a good skit, and I hope someone has it to post it up onto YouTube.
I'm not sure why my comment was down rated. Maybe not many people liked that skit with Rick Moranis that I asked about where he was playing as Minnesota Shorts, and they probably didn't want to see it on YouTube.
Yes, I thought at 0:55 was funny too. I thought at the beginning Rick Moranis gave that look because he was surprised that Bert was asking for oatmeal where they never serve oatmeal on an airplane which Bert should've known but, now I know that the reason he was giving that look was because Rick Moranis felt sorry for himself that he didn't say hi to Bert in the beginning where he and Bert love oatmeal so much which they both have in common.
